This episode had great music, especially the way the choir plays Barris theme at the end.
For once the inquisitors felt terrifying. That scene of Lin massacring the villagers was top tier. Sure, Ahsoka can wipe the floor with them in two seconds, but an average person is defenseless.
Still, I wish we had gotten more episodes with Barriss to flesh out the story and make her change of heart feel more earned. It had an interesting story to tell, even if predictable.
Can’t wait for your analysis on the last episode.

I think we forget too often that Ahsoka was trained by Anakin Skywalker (and Obi-Wan Kenobi by proximity). She is one of the most cunning and well rounded Jedi that were around.
But the Inquisitors routinely mow down average Jedi and were a threat to everyone in the galaxy, second only to Vader.
And yeah, it was not the quick Barriss story we deserved after all these years of waiting.

@@starwarsmusicanalysis Right, I forget Ahsoka was no average Jedi lol.
It's a long shot, but hopefully there is more Barriss story left to tell.

I was like 70% sure she would turn back, but when I saw the episode title, I was like 98% sure. But I still liked the episode. However, the Bad Batch was better in my opinion. Also, in the Bad Batch I knew the soundtrack motives, like the clones theme, Tech's theme, Hemlock's theme etc. so I appreciated the soundtrack more. However as I don't remember Barises theme or any other themes, I couldn't appreciate them when watching. The only one I recognised was Thrawn's theme. But I guess that's why we are lucky to have you to show us all of the music motives used here

Nah. Barriss never craved power. She just didn’t believe in what the Jedi stood for any more. It was only a matter of time before she felt the same towards the Inquisitors.
I agree. It’s more difficult to get into these shorts since they’re, well, short. Perhaps these will lead to bigger stories in the future though.

Who honestly cares? It doesn’t affect anything in the story. Making a big deal out of nothing.

@@starwarsmusicanalysis Well, I would say that Jedi aren't mentally ill so it's complete bullsh!t. The "bad guys" would definitely care about their enemy's made up pronouns lol

      @zrecvelesa6012
1.) There’s nothing stating Jedi aren’t mentally ill.
2.) The mental and physical subtleties of individuals goes far beyond being able to make a rash decision about someone based on 2 minutes of an episode.
3.) Dark Side users don’t care about people’s identities. That’s pretty much a recurring theme throughout all of Star Wars.
4.) You’re still making too big of a deal out of it.

@@starwarsmusicanalysis Maybe but it really annoyed me. Tales of the Jedi were so awesome. Didn't expect Tales of the Empire be like that. This modern crap has to be in everything... All these episodes about Barriss were weird. She became flat for some reason and that redemption arc is starting to be boring. During the Clone Wars it wasn't a big deal for her to kill innocents.. Idk, at least the Bad Batch was excellent.

@zrecvelesa6012 I imagine Barriss as like a person in their 20s. They went through those times of the anger, had their tantrums, and then realized it was a big waste and that they blinded by anger.
I felt the entire series was flat and it felt rushed. Filoni just finished Bad Batch and Ahsoka before this. Tales of the Jedi felt like a passion project. Tales of the Empire felt like this thing he had to do.
