You managed to turn what could have been one of your most mundane videos into an absolute masterpiece, genius. I love the play on borderline insanity. Bravo
Love your videos! The quality of sound, the music used is great and useful content with out "pouring water" or how it would in English. Great work your are doing. Looking forward for future videos. Thank you! Cheers from Ukraine.
1:51 This is the point where you use your "churn brush" (long handled Tampico bristle brush) to "pack" your mortar. It also is the first step of cleaning up the surface. When you come back with your wire brush, it is much easier to get the face of the stone clean. 👍 No doubt you are becoming much more efficient and confident with your movements. That is a big accomplishment! 🤓 Are you planning to have a proper doorway or two through the center stone wall? Now would a good time to make your openings so you have the stone to select from for pointing. Also seems like unnecessary stress on your back and knees as you crawl through that tiny opening❓
Change of subject slightly, please consider ventilation ducting. It helps with lime to breathe. Also your comments in your limecrete/concrete video on damp could be resolved. I have a similar project in Poland. It's tough sometimes but keep up the great work!
😂 brilliant! I really struggle with describing my music tastes beyond the basic genres. I need to find an app. I've never heard of some of the subgenres you mention, but will investigate 😊 Bach, Handel, Telemann, Corelli, baroque, choral, trance, house, dance, rock & pop ~1960-2010, jazz manouche, much of the well known hits that have stood the test of time - I'm quite (European?) mainstream, I think.
That was excellent on so many levels, very cleverly done, rather like the Fast Show. You have an eclectic taste in Music and as an Englishman in France I recommend Jake Thackray he may be right up your street - his influence was George Brassens.
I done this for a few months last year...I still haven't regained my sanity after all the repointing I done! 😂 FairPlay for sticking with it. Great video
Much respect! Keep going the way you do. I like the honest talking about your thoughts and how you feel about your big project. Wish you and Marion all the best
Zen and the lost art of pointing! You are a really good source of inspiration. You are really inspiring us to rip the gypsum plaster board off our stone walls, I just hope our walls are as nice as yours are. I have a dread of what lurks behind the plaster! Can I ask what you will do for insulation?
Afterwards we end up understanding that what is not built over time hardly resists it and that therefore the gift is at the end of the road ;-)
Have you considered using a hand drill mixer, as the quantity of general mix per day is not that huge and it would be really tiddy. This king of 200-250l mixer are best for heavy concrete mixes, but for plaster/render mixes drill mixer is better, in my opinion.

This week we av bin mostly watching repointing 😊
"Yeah", you've lost your mind 😂 just kidding great job on the pointing. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Well done for making a video about something so repetitive so interesting. "It'll be nice when it's finished." 😵💫

😂👍. Opening line....Obviously a fan of Jesse from 'The Fast show'.
PS. The repetitive vibe is duly noted...creative and clever.
You got some dancing skills, mate!
Be careful what you think, because thoughts run your life.

Farmhouse diaries have perfected lime mortar pointing. Worth a watch

I think the re-pointing is making someone a little daffy. Have more wine breaks. 😊
Love it! Damn you make good video.
In France / UE can you hire people by the day? Thinking of how one gets help pointing the walls. - Eric.
To infinity and beyond!
Fantastic dance route, makes to job go quicker- all the best & regards.

The patience of Job comes to mind.
I’ve never seen anyone clean their scaffolding before.
Love the Jesse's diets reference
"I'm going slightly mad"... 😱
Not bad for me, I was crazy before beginning.

Have you considered a mortar grouting gun? Or something that looks like a pastry bag?
Not heard of making a wood channel to direct your mix from mixer to bucket.
its not rocket tech.
No. Makes perfect sense though. Thanks.
Did you consider lathe and plaster as a faster alternative? Anyway, good hard work, son.
Magic! Welcome to my world, but I am only painting.
It may be a dumb question but what does the pointing do? The house wasn't about to fall over was it? Is it for thermal efficiencies?
Keeps out the spiders and mice and drafts?
Great job at making an interesting and creative demonstration of that job 👍
don give up bin there
I can also recommend listening to podcasts and audiobooks which are free if you have a paid Spotify subscription
If you rented a pointing pump you would have been done in a day. Oh well
Martijn Doolaard used a pump on his Italian alpine stone cabins. Was still a long job, I think.
Cheer up pal ... far worse situations
You know when you say you dream about refurbing your property...same...it would have been finished by now if i had been awake !
Of course you have got great taste in music. Another fantastic film. Your renovation of your home is amazing.
All said you've made great progress since the last video 👌
🕺🤣
