Just a heads up for anyone reading this. Any dealership can deny warranty work for modifications effecting damaged part. What it comes down too is the dealer. Not everyone is a stickler and I have been to dealerships that turn a blind eye and do not care. That being said every dealership is different and it is important to know you are taking a risk anytime you modify your car. Moral of the story check with your local dealer and become friends with the people who work there and you can get a better understanding of whats okay and what's not. If they really wanted too any dealer can check history and attempt to deny warranty.

Hey, good stuff, man. One thing I'll point out is that the computer doesn't hold any mileage record . It's actually stored in the cluster with a memory chip...it may get relayed to the computer, but not stored in it..the one to watch for is your blue link app . It will keep records miles, etc. I had it canceled the first day i got the car
Yeah and they just did a system reboot on all the N’s last week so sounds like I need to go back in and make sure my auto insurance recordings is deactivated!
@@alexcastillo6032hey man so i think I understand what ur saying but im not sure i see how that would be a concern with tuning? If the ecu doesn’t actually record mileage how would the blue link have any mileage discrepancies or be able to tell that the ecu was modified?
Hmmm, warranty seems to be spelled out in a way that enables each Hyundai Dealership to make their own decision on what voids warranty. Therefore, any aftermarket item not sold as stock that enhances the cars ability to induce more power is subject for probable cause.
I feel like this is for the US specifically.. I can’t seem to find anything along those lines in the Hyundai Canada warranty. Although that’s just for the all Elantra’s, I wasn’t able to find anything additional for the N..
Regarding that document you're reading from. Several people have tried (unsuccessfully) to get Hyundai to verify that document is real. Your best bet is to just find a dealer, and service manager that you can trust will be okay with mods. Luckily I found one that is okay with that.
I love the warranty that Hyundai offers, so I am going to choose to leave mine stock, at least for a while, so I don’t void that warranty. I’ll just keep modding out my 3.8 bk2 Genesis coupe (currently headers, intake, exhaust) , and do cosmetics with the Elantra N. I think it is actually very quick stock. The one mod I may do a little later down the road is just a tune.
What if something happens and you can not do the drive cycles? I imagine when something comes up that you would need the warranty to stay in place driving 4 cycles might not be possible.
I know you said cold air intake is ok - I have an N performance intake imported from Korea. Do I have to get it installed at a dealership to retain the warranty? Or can I install it myself
@ndriverkg104 I think he means warranty wise 🤔 I have the Powerflex trio and these should be EVERYONE first mods, F the "sexy mods", get these FIRST👍👍
On your brake system, yes. It only affects the parts it's related to. They aren't going to deny a warranty claim on your motor because you have a big break kit on your car
Maybe I got lucky. I just fell right into one. Had no intention of getting one. I found a 6-speed and test-drove it. I had some cash and a trade-in and drove away in it on a holiday!

Mileage isnt tracked on ECU's but keycycles are.

How much more power you make with a catless vs catted downpipe ? Is it worth the few extra HP to void warranty?
Just keep the stock downpipe on your car.
Can you get a engine mount?
Usually everyone does

is Hyundai a easy company to get the type N ? or does it just depend on the area ? or credit?
Its like most other cars credit, history etc
They're kinda hard to get ahold of too. These N are kinda rare.

Damn, I bought a boomba BOV to put on but now im not sure if i should....
Just take it off back to oem if you’re gonna bring it in for warranty work
Ek1lite can you use on a stock motor maybe just with the intake
Yes you can just buy a tune for no mods it will still get you up to 300-320 wheel
BOV really😂😂 . That's safer than a cold air intake. If somebody ever gets water sucked up in the intake, they will know what I'm talking about.

Does Hyundai sell a performance car?
Nope

also modified engines are insurance policy exclusions, the insurer will deny the claim, I work as an insurance adjuster
