yeah, it also has travel time now so you won't be as vulnerable as before (you had to stand still for the whole duration), also reveals everything in your path!
3 seconds delay makes it not really useful for dodging stuff like that, it can't dodge karthus or Caitlyn ult, but it does get a buff! It's 3 seconds instead of 4, you can run away easier now Also you can tp to minions and wards from the start again, that's not nothing, great for jungle epic monsters and TPing a minion upfront + the 1 second cast time buff makes up for more than half of the travel time! And a half map unleashed tp seems to have like a 6 second cast+travel time, that's 2 seconds longer than current tp, so it's not a HUGE nerf
Giving vision along your travel path seems like a huge buff to TP, even with increased travel time. Not even to mention that you can tp anywhere before unleashed again.
sadly i feel like the surprise element of tp’ing behind enemy lines onto deep wards will now be a thing of the past with this update. although the trail on the teleport is probably good for the long run to help actually notify summoners about whats going on rather then leaving them in the blind, i feel there are definitely going to be moments where a back door would be necessary to win but almost impossible due to the surprise element being taken away.
I don't think it will be that bad or even noticeable. With a back door, you will always see your enemy arrive at your base and start to hit the nexus. There is not much suprise there. So, with this new TP you might notice the ball going through you a second earlier but then you will still look on the minimap to see the same old TP effect telling you an enemy is teleporting. Also the surprise effect was really insignificant for TP plays, compared to being able to flanc your opponents or cut of their retreat.
Not being able to cancel tp was the biggset let down because of faking tp to save mates or your own skin if they got swarmed. They are just doing the same shit since season 3 by making the game „noob“ friendly by removing skill like old nida, removing and nerfing pots which forced you to manage ressources more carefully in early game because regen was worse back then, to have buy wards which forced you to manage resources, op catch up mechanics like playing trash and going full unga bunga mode on the feed guy to get rich and so on. They try to bring play making with TP back. In past seasons, you could always TP to wards or minion from the start of the game, meaning your top could TP on a ward in the bushes of bot lane to punish the enemy bot for pushing too much, for example. The problem was that it made the games stale as it was a too strong punish for offensive plays and would also often lead to 5 man dives with level 4 or 5. This new TP gives the play making back, but allows for much more counter play, as it just takes far longer for the TP to arrive. Furthermore, a current problem with TP is that you might die in lane, but because of low respawn timers and TP early on, you can be back in your lane quicker than your opponent and gain a farm and level lead that is worth more than the kill the opponent got. So again, playmaking is punished. And here, the change again help as you take longer and thus are far more likely to miss minions and not gain said lead.
You can teleport to minions again and also notice the pathing of the teleport before arrival (good for teams that communicate enough). Also vision. It will lead to less unexpected tps, but also more information and play possibilities overall.
