Hi and thanks for watching, plough point spacious but was no use in the mornings winds, be interesting to know what percentage of Harwood is felled with either stumps left or young trees. Be watching for Google earth updates Cheers
Nice trip, nice bivy bag. Wish I could those puddings in usa. They are probably clearing the forest for solar panels and sending the trees to Canada to be made into wood pellets, and sold as ‘renewable green’ energy. Crazy stuff.
Hi across the miles, and thanks, bivy bag just British army and not expensive, would hope the trees make our wood but who knows these days !! The marked up sizes hopefully say they stay here, Cheers
Thanks for posting Adrian, you were talking about “ the kings “ of camping videos a while ago. I find your videos very entertaining. I sometimes like to see how some people might actually set up the plough point. But from one 60yr old camper to another 60yr old camper. Well done. Happy new year from Australia. Regards Andrew
Hi again, thanks for popping by each time, I find it hard at this time of year, must remember to find a spot with a phone signal as this one was long and hard, but very relaxing! All the best for next year Cheers
Cracking Bivvi Adrian picked a great spot (definitely wouldn’t get a tent in there m8t as you said ) That northern wind 🌬️ was strong lol 😂 the stove though worked a treat 👍😊 Plenty of tree felling in Harwood (it changes the place so much ) Adrian you and yours have a good New Year m8t 🙏🏼🍾 Best wishes Simon
Hi and thanks Simon, it’s a great chill out place, must have been the only person for miles ! Have a good new year with plenty of camps to come Cheers Adrian
Cracking video Adrian myself and Roney checked that area out last year it was so boggy and a bit of a wind tunnel so moved on to a different location nice setup using the polls happy new year mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi Jimmy, happy new year to you and Roney, thanks, it was a nice area with distant views for a change, very bumpy and so boggy, ok for a bivy not a camp, never had my tarp blow off before ! So yes very windy, Cheers Adrian
Great stuff mate, alot of the trees end up in that eyesore of a factory at Hexham.Dont know if you've done the coquet valley, place up there called fairhaugh, done a few nights there, stunning place, about 6 years ago they felled all the trees, looked like the somme! Hoping it's growing back now
Hi and thanks, I am going to try do different camps and locations, it’s easy to go to places you know !! But Harwood can be different each time it’s that big I can always show you some spots on a map ,not much for tents mind That Soto was working in a really bad side wind and it still boiled the water, mind protection saves the gas Cheers Adrian
Hi and thanks for watching To be fair it was mainly dry so not bad and the wind in the morning, what can you say it’s the north east, keep everything low to the ground I think Cheers
Hi and thanks for watching, lol most nights my car is the only one on the road, there are lots of noises in the forest, but I love being out in nature, is it people that can hurt you and not the wild ! Cheers
Hi and thanks for watching, the stew actually tasted really good, but if you like a nice texture to look at, look elsewhere !! Enjoying the tarp even in the winter, mind it was iffy when it blew off when I was close to packing up, like a sail it was. Cheers
@@cheviotoutdoors you could stay close to the hut as a back up, worst case in our wind the tent would collapse and you could stay in it until light, pretending to be in a flappy bivy !!! I have done it once ! Cheers and enjoy

Great stuff Adrian, I like a plough point tarp and like the way you modified it with the walking poles. The Soto windmaster is an impressive bit of kit, I barely use any other stove now. Always surprising how tree felling changes the landscape but hopefully it’s just the downed trees they’ve felled for now and it’s actually opened up the forest a bit. 👍
Hi Graham, plough point did not stand up to the morning wind ! Shame I could not have filmed it flying up. !!! Loving the forest but must get up the hills again, Our next camp can be the flat spot or local stuff Have a happy new year Cheers Adrian
Lovely trip out there mate, looking forward to your next adventure, think I'm going to look for some motivation 🙂, hope you and the family had a good Christmas and all the best for 2023 👍
Hi and yes very pleasant time, hope yours was ok as well, Motivation !! Well I have struggled with the dark nights, this one was hard as I had no signal so it was a long quiet night, but I just used the time to chill, you have to say, right Tuesday I am camping whatever, that’s the only way to do it, I am also losing my hill legs as I have been on the flat for so long, Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper yes we had a good one mate, thank you 😊, well I've kept the hill legs, still been putting the Miles in. Last vid was a 15.5 mille hike lol. Well hopefully I'll have a wild camp in b4 I return to work with a new tent 😁. Keep up the good work, Atb Andy
Cool camp Adrian, I use 9" plastic pegs in soft ground, I wildcamp alot in old plantation/ancient woodlands that have soft ground , the pegs hold brilliant in high winds, happy new year to you and yours, good health and safe travels, cheers craig

Always love a plough point. Judging by the grade of timber they are harvesting that place is going to get fleeced!
