    Would be a good addition to the Borderlands Line, Great video.

      Cheers 🙂, it really would be a useful station, poor public transport connections is currently putting companies off moving to Deeside or expanding.

    Geoff Marshall will be very pleased to see the new railway station being built.

    Always good to hear about new stations! Would adding this station mean closing the existing Hawarden Bridge station though?

    • @Rail_Focus
      @Rail_Focus  2 года назад +2

      Flintshire CC did want to develop that station as well. But I haven't heard much recently. It could be useful as there's a lot of development happening in that area. If the Class 230 enters service it could do the run from Wrexham to Bidston with additional stops at Hawarden Bridge and Deeside Parkway in about 56 minutes, which is tight, but doable.

      @@Rail_Focus there are only 130 new homes being built near Hawarden Bridge Station but there will be 770 new homes on The Airfields development nearby, which also abuts the old triangular rail junction so is close to the Toyota Plant & the small Solar Panel Park.

      Ah thanks, I thought it may be for the Eren development. Makes sense as it sounds like they're going to increase staffing x4

      I hope by the end of 2023, but it'll depend on funding.

    You were at Deeside Industrial Park, Deeside Industrial Estate is the small section built on part of the old RAF Sealand North Camp alongside the Chester Millennium Cycleway (old Chester Northgate rail line) where the Dragon Bridge goes over the dual carriageway
    You mispronounced Padeswood - it isn't 'pad' it should rhyme with spade

    My big worry with this is the knock on effect to connecting to the North Wales coast line at Shotton, it's already tight enough and I can't see trains Wales redoing the timetables, personally unless they do, I hope it doesn't happen.

    • @Rail_Focus
      @Rail_Focus  2 года назад +1

      Hopefully by the time the station is open there will be a half hourly service on the Wrexham-Bidston line. There will also be 2 trains an hour calling at Shotton low level from next year.

      @johncmc226 2 года назад

      @@Rail_Focus Lets hope so! Wow didnt know that, good news! Thanks for letting me know

    • @Rail_Focus
      @Rail_Focus  2 года назад +1

      @@johncmc226 the Wrexham-Bidston line half hourly service is under review by the Office for Rail and Road, but I'm hopeful it will begin this year or next. The 2tph at Shotton low level will be introduced as part of the new hourly Liverpool to Llandudno service next year.

    • @johncmc226
      @johncmc226 2 года назад

      @@Rail_Focus Didn't know that the Liverpool train was next year, knew it had been mooted, exciting! I'm guessing it will go via Chester to Lime St?
      I used to wonder why they never ran one via Chester then the Merseyrail Wirral line but then a family member worked for Merseyrail and said its because of insurance reasons (from Chester onto North Wales), shame,

    • @Rail_Focus
      @Rail_Focus  2 года назад +1

      @@johncmc226 It'll be an extension of the current Liverpool Lime St to Chester via Halton Curve service. It's likely that it'll be formed of 2 units, 1 heading to Llandudno and the other heading to Shrewsbury, extended to Cardiff every 2 hours.

    One concern for the station could be whether the surroundings feel safe to passengers or not

    • @Rail_Focus
      @Rail_Focus  2 года назад +2

      Possibly, but the CG images I've seen make it look a little less forbidding and of course there will be CCTV. Possibly even more development around the station as well so it'll feel a little less lonely.

    It all hinges, as usual, in the available finance. I suppose.

    • @Rail_Focus

      Indeed, as always having to wait to see what the DfT decides.
