Super pumped for this! My wife and I reread it back in 2020. I think it is a great "beginner fantasy" for those that are new to epic fantasy. I'm not going to lie; I'm pretty excited about this. I never really liked the Eragon series that much(loved them as a kid but I see they have problems) but I'm willing to give Paolini a chance in that he's grown a lot since then and hopefully he can actually provide something good and Murtagh to boot; my favorite character in the series getting his time to shine. As for the illustrated editon of Eragon, sure I'll pick it up. I love illustrated books.

  • @Lancastrianer

I really loved the books when i grew up. But when i read book 4 i kinda lost all interest in them. I barely finished it. I had read 1-3 just before 4 and it felt out of line. Like it wasnt written by Paolini or too rushed. But it might be that there was another translator than the first books. Nonetheless i might try rereading them again and hopefully i wont lose interest again in book 4. I really need a good book series again after doors of stone will probably not be published in my life time.

If you still haven't read the series of course I recommend you do. Unfortunately once you do it's a pretty good chance you will be considerably more upset about losing your signed copy. I definitely would be. My perspective from having read the series, if by chance a friend got anywhere near a signed copy of it, then didn't return it..... I would move into his home and refuse to leave until it showed back up. Lol

Eragon bereft the obsession with arya is something I always wanted. It’s so simple, present the world of algaesia and the plights of its inhabitants, and make our beloved murthagh the protagonist. Age the content with your audience, add some edge, and deepen the soul of the main characters. No way paolini can fuck this up.

I've been slowly rereading the books over the past month or so and I'd say the story holds up if not the writing. The writing definitely improved as the series went on, though, and Paolini's Fractalverse material is a lot more mature in its writing than the first 2 books of Inheritance.

I never got around to fully reading the series but liked the movie and remember it coming out as a kid. So I just recently got into audio books past year or so and literally just finished the series in October of last year and I have re listened to them 2 more times since then and fell in love with the series as a whole and relate it to a very happy and pivotal point in my life. These books helped me get through a point in my life where I was very down and depressed. So this news has excited me beyond belief and has given me something to look forward too this year.
