Hi there. A question.
Can I use floating concrete blocks to make a solid stone Mobile Floating Private Island if I put pond liner tarp on top of the floating concrete blocks?
And then put compost and soil and grass and bushes and trees etc on top of the tarp..
And then put houses on top of this synthetic but natural looking mobile floating island and then released herbivores and insectivores (sheep / goats / rabbits / chickens / turkeys etc) to mow - brush hog and weed wack the lawns?
Could I use your product to make a mobile floating island in this way that would hold the weight of a house and soil and life in general like a regular natural non floating non mobile island does?
Then can I anchor it like a boat?
This is what the Peruvian Uro People of Lake Titicaca have done for thousands of years with a cork like Reed root that floats. But it rots after the Island has floated for 35 years and must be replaced.
And Richart Sowa has done this using floating plastic water bottles in nets with pallets tarps and soil on top.
Can I use your product to make a modern permanent version of this?
Hello Aathish Kumar its really an effort to make such a light weight concrete block, but i have some questions in the project
1. what is the W/C ratio used coz you have used water directly into mix of mortar with other ingredients with that W/C the mix seems to be flowable but you have again added water while mixing the foam atleast you should have used the foam instead of pouring the water left over while preparing the foam this could be one of the reason for decline in strength.
2. The W/C you have mentioned in the video is for example in Grade A composition 250 Kgs of cement and water quantity is 250kgs as well still you are adding 40 liter while mixing foaming agent with the concrete mix mentioned at 2:30.
3. your title states its a light weight concrete block but in the video you have compared it with brick if so the blocks a person holding in the beginning of the video doesn't seem to of 19x9x9 in dimension.
4. Compressive strength of concrete block in average is 1.5n/mm^2 , let us assume the yielding point of the block is at a load of 85 Kn then for the standard size of blocks as you mentioned is as 0.70 , 0.68 and 0.45 , moreover 93Kn is the ultimate load as in 1:20 min.
5. Let us assume the density of this concrete to be 1700 Kg/m^3 as conventional concrete is 2100 aprox which varies with the mortar mix ratio, then the self weight if your block would be around 0.075*0.240*1700 which is 30.6kn i.e 3.6 kg aprox. if you are using it in case of partition wall the height would be 3000mm if so the blocks in the bottom would crush because of the load over them .

have you estimated the time it can float? considering the water infiltration, perhaps use Darcy's law?

thank you, It doesn't expand, but it will shrinking during initial setting period only
not sure as a dish wash soap, but it was foam agent , very cheap

Regular concrete has a specific gravity of 1.46-1.8 this is around 1.5-1.6 soo how this thing gets lighter than regular concrete exactly ?

why is strength block so week, it's strength reach only 3.95 N/mm2 = 39.5 Kg/cm2 ?
Because of density was very low, that is the reason. It was permissible limit for that kind of block

I used to make sculpture This would be amazing for floating statues inside of a fountain. But for business sale little casts of garden pond animal statues would be cool or like a floating plant pot base so plants can self water themselves and look cool doing it.
