  • Foam concrete is a type of light concrete mixed with special additives which give to it outstanding characteristics.
Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, 3 times higher than conventional bricks and can be compared with the characteristics of wood. No additional insulation is required! Reduce heating and cooling costs up to 40%.
Foam-concrete is completely clean environmentally friendly material.
Belongs to the group of non-combustible materials.
Foam-concrete is low weight material. It gives direst impact on cost reduction for transportation, use of reinforcing steel for foundation, labor costs, save time for finishing work because of already smooth surface.
The most modern way of building foam-concrete houses at the highest standards and competitive prices.
Cost-effective especially for construction of settlements. In case of flood it can be dry in 24hours.

I grew up in South Africa until 1974, when I left and came to Europe, and in the last few years I was there, a company called Gazbeton (French for Gas Concrete) started building houses and other buildings from foam concrete. They sold it in long blocks about 1ft wide (from memory) and 9" deep. I can't remember the length, but around 10-12 ft. The mouldings had a frog in the end, so the corner verticals were erected, then the walls filled in between them, all joined by putting concrete between them down the frog. Where the sections were too ,long, they could be cut with a simple hand wood saw - the concrete was made of tiny bubbles, like Aero-chocolate, and the teeth of the saw would simply break the bubble walls. They advertised it as having very good thermal properties - easy enough to believe, as it was full of trapped air.
They had built their HQ office building with it - 4 stories high.
I just looked for it on RUclips, and I see they are still going strong - not only in S. Africa but all over the place. There are lots of videos.
In short - foam concrete is not new.

That was another material. Material You're talking about is made on factories from sand, aluminum and lime with some other minor amount of chemicals. All those components are mixed and due to chemical reaction CO2 is produced by material itself, this CO2 gas creates bubbles in blocks. When material is dry enough it has to be baked in huge industrial autoclave and this completes all chemical reactions in material and transforms it into single monolith crystalline unit. This is literally artificial crystal, it doesn't have any organic components at all. Later huge unit has to be cut to smaller blocks and this kind of structural material is named as "gas silicate block". Overall this is very high-tech material, which can be made ONLY in industrial conditions. It's effective, reliable and not exposed to microorganisms and pests, because it doesn't have organics.
To clarify, i want to repeat - You've described absolutely another material.
Material, shown in this video has absolutely different purposes and components. It can be used directly at construction site, it can be mold anywhere, but it's not monolith crystal and it has organic components in materials. In most of cases organic components are based on proteins and they are needed to create foam.
      My best wishes.

Personally I dont remember last time I paid someone for example a painting job, and Im on half way to becoming electrical engineer who is supposed to design building instalations so houses this small are never a problem.
FUN FACT: Most ppl here choose to do jobs themselves cause it is often better, and worker mostly doesnt know a lot more than you anyway, but he doesnt care about how nice it is done, so ppl actually choose to work themselves - for themselves, and like i said ppl are usually poor so f paying someone to do it worse than you anyway :)

Great show, except I guaranty that the paint is going to peel. You can not paint until the moisture has been evaporated from the concrete or it will peel. This takes at least a week, but usually three to four weeks. In the USA foundations are poured and can not be built upon until the concrete reaches over 90% strength, usually 28 days. Great job but does for show.

I like these new modular buildings? Their cheep to build, and are able to be erected quickly, I think this is something that the UK needs to look at in depth? This could be the solution to a lot of homelessness for British citizens, and get a lot of people of the streets? It reminds me of the post war prefabs? My auntie used to live in a prefab, untill they could build enough housing for them to move everybody into ! My auntie used to love her prefab? She always used to tell me that she didn't want to move out, I can remember saying to her ! Isn't it cold during the winter months? Because then we used to have snow every winter! She said no not at all, she said that the prefab had a glass frontend Parkray fire, and it used to get so hot that often through the winter months, she would have got open the window to cool the living room down? I think it would be an ideal solution to cope with the immediate housing crisis? Even if it was only short term, untill we could rebuild our housing stocks? Plus then we wouldn't take long to get the vast majority of our ten thousand homeless people of the streets?.

I'm in Canada and my concrete basement gets so cold and humid in winter, I can't even bear to think of my whole house being like that. Also, concrete tends to crack here, with the ground shifting from temperature variations. It's fun to see how different techniques work in different places. Good job!

I have an idea, I am to old to start a new venture, but someone out there may want to pursue this idea. I would like to build aircrete logs. Based on the toys we all played with when we were kids, Lincoln logs. These could be pre-manufactured so really almost anyone could buy the logs and construct a building. There would need to be different lengths made say like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 feet etc. There would need to be some that had special ends with channels for doors and windows. There could be some that are pre wired with wall outlet boxes and switches. Logs could be pre-colored or surfaced in some cases. A building could be constructed permanently by bonding the logs together, or could be temporary and disassembled and moved. I think this could be an amazing new business that could revolutionize small buildings. And it would allow for any person to DIY.

I think you can improve the ground by laying up plastic , then , use the 1" ×20cm pvc pipe to secure underneath the Brc ,by lifting up and centralized tthe Brc , it will help to improve the strength of your concrete-floor .
    Back in April 2021 , both my frens n me built a Single Bungalow house 50x32 , altogether 5 bedrooms , 1 Masteroom , 1 kitchen + Living-Room , 3 bathrooms and 1 utility Room.
We completed nearly 3 months ,job delayed by heavy rain nearly 2 weeks on and off. Only 3 of us worked together until completed . The whole neighbourhood was shocked ,the rest of other developers were shocked too because we were young and average sized person and only utilized 3 people while the rest uses 6-10 person . Yet we completed like 2-3months earlier than them lmaoo. All i can say it , do it right for the furst time and work as a Team !!!!😼😾😺😹😅🙃

Tiling, grouting, adding heavy stuff and siliconing in two days?
Don't want to know what the tiles and grout look like after a few months.

It would be a dream to build something a little larger than the place in the video over in the Philippines for a retirement home. it would be extremely energy efficient for air-conditioning!!!
    Especially with good insulated windows.
