Great video! The only downside with freelance pages is that it can be hard to know exactly what you are going to get even if the price is high. I would recommend to hire an agency/photostudio over freelancers, especially if you are planning to launch multiple products. If you work with a studio/agency and are able to establish a great connection with them it will be much easier to get photos every time you are planning to launch a new product.

I'm in a huge mess I hired an agency to do my photos that came with great feedback, they did a session, and the picture was low lighting, awkward staging, with many of the photos blurry which no emotional connection, lack continuity. We spoke to one of the partners and he was surprised by the picture overall quality apologized and wanted to have a zoom meeting to talk to me and my partner. We reiterate what we wanted initially and told them what we did not like and added more feedback only to do a lot of the same. Now my products will arrive later this week and I still do not have any pictures. The lesson here get references from people that have actually worked with the agency, no matter how nice their website or youtube videos appear to look like.

Depending on what you want done, it can be around $150 -$700. I've had students spend $2000-$3000 on a photo shoot. It involved elaborate sets and models which add to the costs.

I can only see the images on the left side of the listing. I uploaded each color variation on the swatch box when I uploaded them. I also cannot see the price on the listing. My supplier quoted me a really high price for shipping to the UK from china just for a sample (the actual product is free), so I assume it would cost the same for them to send me the product to me for pictures too. What do you do in a situation like this? Also, I can only take pictures once the product has been manufactured (obviously), so should the supplier only send the shipment to amazon once i've taken pictures and have my listing ready? I'm just a little confused about the order of things.
I'm glad you find value in the content! This is part of the costs of doing business. You can save some money by waiting for your inventory to arrive at Amazon and have a unit shipped to yourself from Amazon but that will take a couple weeks after Amazon receives your shipment. I would have a unit shipped to yourself or your photographer as soon as a production unit is done and the rest shipped to Amazon right away so you can start selling as soon as possible.
How high were the costs of shipping samples from China? In our case, clients send the products directly from the supplier to our studio, and it costs around 20-30$. We are located in Romania, Eastern Europe.

The photographer doesn't necessarily need to be familiar with Amazon. Just make sure they are experienced with product photographer. They don't need to be in the US either and there's no problem showing them other peoples photos to get ideas.

But I was wondering why you don't mention branding your product by packaging putting your own personal logo etc. From the others i have watched this seems like a must to be successful in 2019 going to 2020.

They photoshop them to put their own spin on things but yeah, if you want a pro listing, you should either hire someone or teach yourself and get the equipment

Photos can range from $75-300 depending on what you want done. Lifestyle and hiring models cost the most. I had a student that spent $1500. Worth every penny though.
You can have your supplier send them one, you can send them one if you have some on hand or you can create a fulfillment order on Amazon and ship it to them from Amazon.
