Found your channel randomly. I am currently an occupational therapy student and I find these videos so incredibly motivating. Thank you so much for taking us along your career journey!
Mother's are really just hard workers and I'm so grateful for them. You just worked ALL DAY and you still have time to spend with your family regardless of feeling tired. You're truly an inspiration. Your baby is soooo adorable!
it is a crime to wake up patients before seven in the morning. This is only done for the convenience of the staff. Patients should be able to sleep until at least eight o'clock. The only exception may be the day on which they have surgery. Unfortunately, in hospitals, patients who sleep deeply are woken up by force, because night shift nurses want to do their morning work as soon as possible. After that, doctors want to see the patients as soon as possible, so that in the early afternoon they can go to their private doctor's offices and other workplaces. This is the case in Poland.
I recently just had my baby girl and it turned into an emergency c-section, because of that I was in the hospital for 4 days, and man I realized how much hard work the nurses and doctors really put in to ensure that things go well and that the patient, and in this case I was the patient, is good. Even though I probably won’t ever be a patient of yours I just want to say thank you to people like you Jenny who work their butts off to help people and make a difference. Props to you! Especially how you handle everything with a baby, it’s definitely motivating and inspiring. ❤️
I actually found this really interesting, as a patient with autoimmune conditions and flare ups I'm constantly in and out of hospital, so its actually refreshing to get the human side of a doctors perspective!
Just the type of organized 24-hour med vlog I needed! Especially being that I’m first generation, and no one close to me has pursued medicine. Is your husband a stay at home daddy?
I just found your channel. I'm not a doctor. Or planning to be. I'm a mum to two, air force wife and a criminology student. But your videos are so relaxing to watch and i admire you for your motivation. You are super mum goals 👌
Jenny Le Criminals to me are fascinating, and not just the psychotic ones, but the reasons why they do what they do whether it be stealing food for their families or committing serious offences, I'm really interested in why they do it. So thats basically why i got into it, i started my degree before i had my first daughter, but took time off once my husband went away for his job and focused on being a mum. Then we moved 3 times around Australia for my husbands job, then had another daughter and now in finally being able to finish what i started. Super long response sorry!!
Did you like internal med? I have insane respect for everyone who does what you do/just did! 80 hour work weeks while being expected to stay on top of everyone’s care? Oh. And be a mom and wife?? My brain hurts thinking about it! Do you feel that you are able to provide safe care with those hours? Many residents I’ve talked with feel that it’s a horrible learning system. I know I learn so much more when I’m not pushed to my limit emotionally and physically. Just curious for your input! I know personally, if I put in a 60 hour work week I’m starting to not be my best self and I’m sure my patient care suffers because of it. Thanks as always for the great content!!
I think that it is safe. There is always someone double checking your work. I think I give so much when I get home I can get short tempered. I’m lucky stan is so patient with me.
Jenny Le very true about the double checking! I didn’t think of that. Glad you have great support at home! That makes the world of difference. And a cute baby. Those help too
It's inhuman the path to becoming a doctor. The process begins in med school when they isolate the student and cubicalize him/her to study for insane amounts of hours per day. In a health system where human interactions with the patient should be paramount, med school does its best to destroy that.
My husband did his residency at the OU program and for inpatient they would see 10-15 depending on the census. There was no cut off at the time. Babies were also seen. First year interns might of seen less. Lawton only has 2 major hospitals. 12 residents in his program. They also saw nursing home patients.
Love your videos! I was so excited when I saw you use Epic. I'm an Epic Analyst at UCLA! I work on issues and enhancements for it all day long. It's awesome working with clinicians and staff from both inpatient and outpatient because I get to see how everything is related. Love cute little Wyatt!! :)
Thank goodness for Epic. I'm a medical records specialist and I always breathe a sigh of relief if I know I'm going to be using it. It's so easy to use.
We actually just switched over to epic! Some are still having a hard time transitioning. But I think that’s just because there’s no enough support staff
Hi Jenny!!!! In honor of National Osteopathic Medicine week, I made a RUclips video about what to expect in your first year as an Osteopathic /DOstudent as far as curriculum and lab. I’d love to know what you think. Also, I would so very much appreciate if you could share this video with your subscribers in some way . If not that that’s fine, atleast watching a few minutes would mean a lot to me!
You're family medicine, right? How many weeks of inpatient medicine do they make you do? It's amazing how you still vlog during these crazy long hours. I have a hard time vlogging as an M2 haha.
Jenny, is that a Fitbit you are wearing? (Especially shown at 4:15). How do you like it to complement your busy days? You’re awesome super doctor/super mom =)
Side note: Love your vlogs so much and helps us to understand what all goes behind the scenes, especially in the hospitals. The more I understand and can get a glimpse of what nurses and doctors go through, the more understanding I am with long waits sometimes at doctors appointments or hospital visits. It’s hard though when your family is sometimes impatient, but it’s understandable 🙈.
I love your videos, I am doing my internship year in Mexico right now and I really Want to have a baby, but I dont know if I can handle it like you... do you have any tips? And sorry but how old are you?
I’m not even in the medical field (at all) but your videos motivate me to finish my degree so I can provide a better life for my family! Keep thriving girl ! #June2020Grad
Thank you so much for doing these videos...question for you...do you ever or have you ever had a feeling that, without such a demanding profession that you could do other things because you would have more time/energy? If you do feel this way, how did you accept the "loss?" Thank you for what you do and for these vlogs!
I think everyone thinks about that at some point. Especially with the insane amount of debt you put yourself in after medical school. But at the end of the day, the job makes me really happy. So I guess it’s worth it. It’s not always about the money.
Hi! Im a pharmacy student and I just had a quick financial question. I was wondering if you took out extra loans to prepare for residency? I know you can put off paying on your loans if you’re a resident but In terms of other expenses how did you budget affording them since residents to make a ton?
I took out a physician’s loan to buy a house. Financially, mortgage was cheaper than rent. And I applied for a loan repayment program that factors in your income. So during residency I don’t pay as much just because I’m not making much money.
Such an interesting & insightful vlog as always! Thanks for bringing us along into what you do! Do you ever get so so so extremely tired? Maybe that’s a silly question 😂
This is a lot of work 😪 .. hope you have the power to keep going 💪😙.. i started my internship this march and i am on Obs rotation now .. i only have two 12 hour shift .. other days we attend only from 9 am to 1 pm .. ( however i feel too exhusted LOL 😂)
It is a crime to wake up patients before seven in the morning. This is only done for the convenience of the staff. Patients should be able to sleep until at least eight o'clock. Do you think it would be worth it to go to a DO program that’s $67,000 a year because it’s close to me and I don’t want to move from my family? I have another MD program near me I plan to apply to as well but applying to only those two my chances are higher with the DO program. What are the chances to go to medical school here and residency? I know I seem dumb to be so peculiar. I’m considering PA if not, would that be my best bet? Thanks!
so i had a friend who wanted to go into medical school and they were looking at an idea salary for a dermatologist and they wanted to know if residency was counted as work history and counted as experience as years as a physician?
Hey Jenny! I have a question. So I know I want to go to med school. But some colleges have pre med as a major and some don’t. So I’m confused if they don’t pre med as a major what major should I take. I want to go for cardio surgeon. And also, in med school is just classes right, it’s not internship and residency. The internship and residency is after 4 years of med school? And what major do you take in med school ?
Shriszz Hey! You don’t have to do a pre med major, and a lot of schools actually won’t have that as an option, but rather as a track you should follow. This is because, in order to get into med school, you have to take certain prerequisite courses in undergrad. However, you can actually major in whatever you like as long as you include the prerequisite courses in your course load! As for med school, typically the first two years are classroom based, but after that you’ll most likely have two more years of some classroom based learning and clinical experience mixed in. Internship and residency are completed after four years of med school. Good luck with everything!
okay well if there are any teaching hospitals in your area they usually have shadowing programs if not ask the volunteer office and see if they have anything like that. That is what I did and I got to shadow
Being a doctor isn't the only profession with those kind of hours and other professions have more hours a week, 90+ even 100 hours a week in other professions.

Sculpin I think you need to realize that the tone of your comment does not convey that you like her. Rather, your comment connotes a negative emotion and other implications. It seems that you are implying that she thinks highly of herself because she works 80 hours. That it’s something she wants to show off. She’s is literally, truthfully, giving us details and an account of her life. She is not trying to put herself out there as this superwoman, who thinks she is superior to others. So you’re comment “want a metal (which is actually spelled medal) or something? Welcome to the real world” Is out of place.
There are ways of pointing out things, ways of saying things. And, again this whole video is about her...not other professions...in no way is she making comparisons to other professions in which she is saying she works more hours than others.
Sculpin yeah I think everyone has seen all your creepy/negative comments on all her videos. For example asking to buy diapers for her baby? Not weird at all.
You work this much and still manage to get great content up for us.... Props to you Doc!
Tomas De La Parra exactly!! I really appreciate her effort.
Thank you so much for watching. Love talking to everyone in the comments ❤️

I remember you saying you were having a baby soon! Well I’m glad everything ended up ok. How’s the little one doing?
Jenny Le great! She was a little one, a whopping 6 pounds & 1oz :) recovery at first was not easy at all
I’ve heard c sections are tougher than vaginal. But my recovery was horrible but I have nothing to compare it to.
FIrst 5 seconds of vlog: *A multi-tasking queen*
I literally don’t understand how you are able to manage everything. Im barely able to manage just being a full time student...
Your such an inspiration for all future docs and non docs as well. Thank you for brightening our Easter as well with this video 😊😇
I actually found this really interesting, as a patient with autoimmune conditions and flare ups I'm constantly in and out of hospital, so its actually refreshing to get the human side of a doctors perspective!
Thank you for your service doctor I work in law enforcement and you and nurses are our guardian angels if we get injured God bless you and your family

When you have devoted husband it is really sweet
These videos r so informative, just binge watching them now haha
I just found your channel. I'm not a doctor. Or planning to be. I'm a mum to two, air force wife and a criminology student. But your videos are so relaxing to watch and i admire you for your motivation. You are super mum goals 👌

Sculpin you arent saving lives. Move on and stop tryin to compare careers that aren’t relevant to each other
Cool You work a few 80 hours. Congratulations? Want a metal or something? Welcome to the real world.
Sculpin dude if you’re going to be a jerk stop watching her videos.
