I am a full blown Atheist who listens to Take 6 often, and for the last 20 years. I love their music, and always will. Music, unlike religion, is something that can truly unite all off us, no matter what our beliefs. Thanks for posting these, peace.
Memories! I remember when my dad bought "Take 6" in the eighties...like, 1988? I was around 3 or 4yrs old. My sister, 3 brothers, and I would listen to it ALL DAY, trying to mimic them. *sigh*...I love it :D Take 6 = Awsomeness
they are the best acapella group in the world. their distinctly advanced harmonies are unmatched and almost impossible to copy. indeed they are the greatest. coming from someone who once thought he was an authority in harmony singing. i stand humbly corrected and enlightened! *phillip*
I went through 5 or 6 tapes of this album because of constantly listening to it over and over again. They were truly a breath of fresh air in this industry.
I'm not even close to being religious, but I was obsessed with this group from thier first album, being a musician. I love the song they did with KD lang too.
Thanks againg for posting these clips....... They are my favorite group. Joey has been so long with them you almost forget about Mervyn Warren; no offense
They never have forgot about him. These guys always been tight, always stayed in communication...it's like family, a response 12 years later. Mervyn has immersed himself into what he LOVES doing and Take 6 was the diving board for him to do much of what he does. He wanted to produce and at the beginning, Take 6 with all the tours and being thrusted onto the main scene didn't allow him that avenue to pursue to in due respect, he departed but no bad blood.
Take is one of the best vocal group ever... hands down. the 6 part harmony is awesome... and the bass is soooo good... i actually like nsync's harmonies more than boyz 2 men,, and have u ever heard nsync's star apangled banner from the olympics, the best ever aslo,, one idfferecne, Take 6 did acapella until recently, until they added percussion
take 6 influenced boyz 2 men... they influence most, if not all the vocal groups out here now... there is no comparison with them and boyz 2 men though.. 2 different playing fields..
THANK YOU gogcubsgo....you know of what you speak. The charts these guys sing are 'sick'....and I mean that with the highest praise. Now....have you ever heard of a group from Orlando called 7th Element?
I storngly second this - If anyone who can relay this back to Take 6 is reading this... YOUR MUSIC WILL EVENTUALLY BE TRANSCRIBED NOTE FOR NOTE TO SHEETS- whether by you or musicologists in the future is up to you. Jelly Roll Morton's recordings have already been thus transcribed by James Dopogny for Smithsonian Press. Vladimir Horowitz's concert transcriptions have been commited note-for-note to sheets using frame-by-frame video analysis & posted on the web. IS THE DOCTOR LISTENING?
Are these the same group that made a very eary album 1988 when the group was named "ReUnion" A Cappella (Disk ID 495585)? I'm looking for the cover art. Please send link if you find.
@mastarule Joey has been influenced by his big brother Mark, growing up listening 2 Take 6 from the beginning but not singing with them until 1991.It was actually Mervyn Warren who was with them from the beginning. When Merv left,Joey took over Mervyns parts because he was the natural fit.Brian Mcknight would have had it but He had his record deal then.Since then Joey and David only switched the order of how they sing with Joey(4thfrom the top) because his voice was too "heavy" for the arrangments
I'm sorry, but Mark Kibble's brother singing lead the past 10 years is NOTHING like Merv Warren. Merv's voice was phenomenal, and honestly, only Mark's voice could equate to it. I've been a fan since the mid 80's... but they are still the best ever when it comes to Acappella. Flats, Sharps, they are the Gods of voice.
@kavindp no one can make me go to church or read the bible, but my goodness, if take 6 and yolanda adams said they would escort me, I would be FRONT AND CENTER!
boyz II men are better individually but as an ensemble, come on. They are the best sounding QUARTET, but do ya'll know how much difference 2 more voices can make. Plus Take 6's ears are more keen.
@ReliableNference: If you've been listening to them for 20 yrs and you're STILL an Atheist, you need to listen more closely; not to the harmonies but the actual lyrics, becuz obviously you're not hearing the messages they're sending out.
yeah, nsync pretty much doesn't belong in any conversation concerning Take 6. Take 6's worst performances sound infintely better than any of nsync's best...
I can't believe that people are bringing religion descussions to this video. I'm a atheist and I know the lyrics. All I care is that this guys are great, don't make music another dogma please.
Whatever dude.....Boyz II Men can't sing on key live, and can't write, compose, and arrange strictly vocal pieces on their own....maybe thats why these guyz a 20 year old eighteen Grammy-Award nomination group...not to mention every member of take 6 is a instrumental musician primarily
I remember listening to this in the car back when I was just a kid in the early 90's. My Mom has the record for their first album.

Joey Kibble is smooth. very soulful.
I'm not even close to being religious, but I was obsessed with this group from thier first album, being a musician. I love the song they did with KD lang too.

i loooooooovvvve take 6! Ever since i was little i've been singing their songs with my siblings. Huge influence on the Hubbard Kids.
Every time I listen to these guys, only one word comes to mind, AWESOME!!!!!
brilliant chords everywhere!! 6 part harmony make my boys, boys 2 men look average- & them my boys!!
I saw them at Carnegie Hall ages ago. One of my favorite concerts ever. Phenomenal. They are acoustically perfect. It doesn't get better than this.

THANK YOU gogcubsgo....you know of what you speak. The charts these guys sing are 'sick'....and I mean that with the highest praise. Now....have you ever heard of a group from Orlando called 7th Element?
still the same ol guys i've heard.... u r the best!!!!!
the bass man is Alvin Chea
Beautiful singing.
top notch!
Dorsey may have written the verses, but the song itself is traditional, called the La Harpe Street Blues. If I'm not mistaken.
That is so cool!
Nice
I love That ;)
This music is of albuns: debut album and Live.
my mama got me addicted to this song
Muito bom. Eu já assisti eles ao vivo. É fantástico.
Are you insane?
Take 6 are the top vocal band in the world. Their album "Beautiful World" had EIGHTEEN grammy nominations!

man! they sound good.
but, i still miss MERVYN WARREN!

Those kibbles....what flavor of kool-aid is that???
Que horriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiibleee, prefiero mil veces la version de Kings Heralds, aunque parezca anticuada o pasada de moda.
Joey's been there from the beginning with mervyn. David Thomas replaced him
