Here's the Extended Cut of this run. Go check it out! ruclips.net/video/GoD-CRhtlbM/видео.html That's all the videos I have for now! See you in a few weeks back at Northstar and Kirkwood!
Jesus Christ lmao I’m an intermediate skier and this looks terrifying even on video. I thought regular black diamonds were hard but this takes it to another level. A friend of mine skied the wall before and he said a group of people went tumbling down the hill after catching an edge in the ice 😂
I've been skiing for 15 years and while I wouldn't quite consider myself an expert skier yet (more of an advanced skier who can do select expert lines), this run freaked me the hell out when I first did it! It's super intimidating and really difficult to mentally commit to. Luckily it wasn't too icy the day I did it unlike the day your friend did it. Kirkwood on ice is no fun!
I'm not a snowboarder, so I unfortunately can't really help you with that. I can tell you that while there were a bunch of skiers up there, there were still a decent amount of snowboarders up there. I have seen multiple snowboarders attempt this chute as well as other runs out there. As long as you're good with bumps (which I know can be a pain for a lot of snowboarders) and making some tight turns, you should be good. This isn't a snowboarding video, but here's a third perspective video of a guy skiing the upper portion of All the Way to give you some context of what the chute really looks like: ruclips.net/video/bRYN4TEbPmg/видео.html&ab_channel=KeithBatten
Mom: let's go skiing for winter break! Sibling: hmmmmmmm but we haven't skied in like 5 years *watches random Tiktoks* Mom: ok, lets do a green circle run! The green circle run: 1:08
She did, and I love that video! 😂 Though the run she did was easier and directly under the chairlift. I have a video of the exact run she did here: ruclips.net/video/jdF9_B9KKuY/видео.html
Not fully sure, but I think there was some ice hidden in the chute underneath (conditions were dust on crust) so I just didn't see that and that messed up my momentum causing me to fall
This is most definitely All The Way. The chute portion itself begins at 2:38 after the bowl and cornice section. This cornice is simply the upper part of the chute and a drop-in route to get to the chute. If you need further proof that this is All The Way, search up other videos of it on youtube and you'll either find people dropping off the cornice, or skiing the chute that begins at 2:38 in my video. The cornice drop-in is however the proper way to start the run (it's also by far what most people think of when they think of All The Way. You can also check out the Kirkwood trail map and fatmap for further proof I named the line I did correctly. Just know that I started on Chair 10 and traversed lookers' right (skiers' left) and stopped directly before the massive boulders/cliffs that contain Notch Chute, Once is Enough, Heart Chute, Upper Sisters' Chute, and Sisters' Chute Kirkwood Trail Map: www.kirkwood.com/-/aemasset/sitecore/kirkwood/maps/DIGITAL_KWD_Mapside_FINAL_2022.pdf
Not gonna lie, that run looks like a blue run. Although I have not seen it in person it didn't look that hard to do.. Other than that, good job! Pretty good skier especially when you're on the ice, when I'm on the ice I just fall over.
Thank you! While everything past 1:27 is certainly challenging black-diamond territory, I would absolutely not call it a blue run. Also keep in mind that the camera tends to flatten slopes out, making them twice as flat as they would appear normally. The top section for me is one of the most difficult things mentally for me to commit to (and I've been skiing for over 13 years now) and is easily worthy of a double black rating as when you're standing on top of it, it feels nearly vertical! There's definitely a huge difference when you're watching it on screen and standing on top of it (I thought the exact same thing as you thought about this run; that it wasn't too bad based on videos on youtube but I got to the top and my legs could not stop shaking!) Ice did make this run slightly more challenging, but I'm a native California skier, so ice is normal for me and I've kinda developed techniques for skiing it (lol), but I'm not a huge fan as well! :)
This one's really really steep! Gotta appreciate that the drop in was flawless in terms of snow quality. If it was icy, that would have been quite the experience! 😂

all the way chute doesn't really look fun for snowboarders, any of yall have any insight on it?

@@arjunski right on dude thanks
i’ve been down it on a snowboard but it’s definitely more sketchy for us boarders😀 just gotta scan it out before you send it

@All About Aviation HA! That's something that I would make my sister do. Definitely an interesting green run to do after 5 years of not skiing 😂
I’m pretty sure jaiden animations mentioned this in one of her videos

What caused the fall?

That isn’t all the way chute it’s just a cornice

Only on a powder day
True, I can't imagine this, or anything off The Wall, being much fun on an icy day!

Dropping the cornice past of skull and crossbones sign at the top of the wall is probably 50° for the first hundred feet so definitely not blue.
@@robertbeightler1473 50 degrees sounds about right for that first part and given that a blue is on average 20 degrees, definitely not a blue ;)
It’s steep and the snow sounded horrible.
