Since you guys are in Dallas, do you mind sharing where you purchase the lilt and how much? i'm also in the Dallas area and was looking at this exact lift. it very nice you installed yourself and did a one year review. thanks
Great video. Thanks. Looks like bolting the lift into the ground wasn't necessary? Or I missed it. Either way grateful for documenting that process. Beautiful home and car fleet!
I just purchased this lift and getting ready to assemble. The kit came with a steel pipe that basically runs the length of the lift. I believe it's part of mechanical lock system. The instructions are horrible.. It's approximately 1" in diameter and a little over 12' in length. The pipe was loose (Not assembled or attached to the runway) Any thoughts.. Thanks
Yeah that sounds like the bar that connects the front and rear locks. I believe it’s left loose because you can install the lock release lever on either runway.
@@ZeroToAwesome Is there anyway you can shoot me a pic of that Mechanical lock bar ( The steel pipe measuring approx 12' long ) and how you attached it to the two small pipes at each end that disengages the locks. The instructions suck and the hardware provided for this appears to be missing.. Everything else went smoothly but I'm stuck and trying to get in touch with Greg Smith Equipment for help has proven difficult.. If you can help that would be awesome..Thanks
10’ 4”. Most places say you only need to account for the width of the ramps between cars (4 inches here), but I like to lower the lift down onto the safety stops for storage so I’d say you need to count on an extra 2-3 inches to engage/release the locks.
Thanks! It pretty much came down to convenience. I knew I wanted to install it myself and arranging a fork lift to get the lift off a delivery truck was going to be a pain. Atlas has a distribution center 30 min from my house where they’d load it for me so that made it an easy decision. They also give a discount for local pickup
How did you lift that top ramp (with the hydraulic shaft) off the frame when unboxing it? Reason I ask is because I’m currently trying to move my Atlas off the trailer and it’s heavy AF.
Zero To Awesome haha yeah, figured some temporary pain was necessary. When lifting it off the trailer, did you simply lower it onto the bed and push it onto the moving dollies (similar to how you did the second)? I appreciate the help!
I think we used a dolly in the trailer too, but yeah, did them both pretty much the same way. You could try building a little scaffold of some sort with a come along to lift the beast. A mini crane of sorts
Zero To Awesome reporting back: had some buddies come by and we lifted those suckers straight off the trailer, onto some dollies and then flipped them on the frame. I only have the cables and hydraulics left to do.
Nope. I reread the instructions the other day while uninstalling it and it says it doesn’t need to be bolted down multiple times. It does come with bolts though if you want to bolt it down
how tall is your roof?

Cool video, very fun to watch, I'm half way through installing my 4-post lift by Bendpak and making a video too.... but not in the rain. ;)

Greg smith equipment in Arlington. Think it was 2750 or so with the pickup discount
@@ZeroToAwesome thanks for the quick reply.
I like the beer in the cup holder, I'm sure the can was empty. LOL
Now that you have had it for a while. Please tell us how you like it. Any problems so far?
So far so good! No problems to report, just lots of lifting. Maybe it’s time for a 1+ year update video...
at 12:30 it looked like you were impaled by the handle of the sledge hammer.

Thanks! And yes, bolting it down was optional on this model. I didn’t bolt it down and never had any problems

kidding, kind of.
You know what they say about the size of vehicle you drive...
@@ZeroToAwesome yes. the smaller the car, the most likely it will fit in the lift.

Great video. Very helpful to those looking to install one of these.. Like me!! On that note, what is the height of your ceilings from the floor?

Do you know what size sockets and wrenches you needed? The manual doesn't show much. Just making sure I have all the large stuff.
Just went out and checked: 14, 17, 24mm and 1 1/4-ish and/or a couple good size adjustable wrenches
@@ZeroToAwesome thanks for the quick response! Really appreciate it. How's the lift going? Happy with it?
No problem. And yep, it’s still going strong. I’d buy it again. Good luck with your install!
love the 55-what was the decision making process behind the purchase of the lift? ie...why did he choose Atlas?

We sacrificed our backs! It’s pretty heavy but my brother and I could lift it for short periods of time. We used a floor jack to get it into position

Assembly starts 5 minutes in. No instructions given in this video. Watch them assemble it only.🙄
Good news- the instructions come with the lift. Also- a comment on our first video?? Way to go!
