This is the most international song I know. A West German band with members of African descent from the Carabeean Islands singing a Turkish melody with lyrics about the most infamous person in Russian history.
I just discovered this recently & I cant stop watching it 🤩 That singer was a street performer in South America somewhere b4 record producer, who wrote song, discovered him. Thatswhy he can dance w such high energy - plus hes young! Thanks for great reaction 👍🏼
the Boney M singer had not sung live. the real singer was Frank Farian, the producer of Boney M and later also of Milli Vanilli who also shone by not singing.
His dancing looks like a blend of Russian and Greek dancing. I've always love this song. The dude had a lot to do with destroying the royal house of Russia- Czar Nicholas, his wife Alexandria and their children. Rasputin was above 6'6" blue eyed and was really into orgies and scamming villagers. Still, I do love this song!
Disco music hiding dark lyrics.Black dude never sang. He was miming to the songwriter's voice. (White German.) But he died in same Russian city on the same date as Rasputin!
Ghetto riverdance haha! It might be some variation of a russian dance since they got some footwork ones too, but he does look like he's just winging it sometimes
We do not have the racism problem in most countries in Europe. The beautiful women were not disconnected from their culture and here you see the real thing. This song is far the best they made. My favorites are Sunny, Heart of gold and Rivers of Babylon.
So the thing about Rasputin is that he was a real person with a lot of mythos surrounding him. He probably didn't die that way, but he was likely murdered because Russia at the time was in turmoil and his only ally was an increasingly unpopular Tsar who was busy commanding troops in the eastern front.
Bobby Farrell the guy who is doing the singing is from the island of Aruba (Netherlands) but you can classify him as being Dutch and like many Dutch people because their own language is so difficult you tend to find that most speak pretty good English. The song was about a Russian man who was a real womaniser and who was the lover of the Russian Queen as she thought that he would help to cure her son. Russian people in general are well aware of the story of Rasputin, but aren't really offended but in fact love the song and the dancing.
Eh Biz you r probably too young to ever go roller bootin (Skating) . This was there and all of a sudden the rink would get a bit faster then we get a whip .thats where everyone grab a hand of the closest . A chain would form , with the front person doing circles so the end of the chain would get whipped around til u just couldn't hold on. Sounds dumb now but back when this kinda music came on it would just happen . Do some Manowar. Dark Avenger has good vocals . Williams Tale is just a base but serious chords . good to see u back. thnx
@@watchbizmatik Sorry - I think I wasn't explicit in my statement. Culture has always been developing on exsiting cultures and thus appropriate. That is how culture developed - every culture. There is no culture that didn't aquire elements from others. What is silly about that?

Sounds like they are singing about Rasputin. He was a historic figure from the times of the Russian Tsars.

This has really cheered me up something about this band that brings joy

The dance moves he is attempting to project on stage is in reference to Russian and Ukrainian folk dance.
Boney M- Daddy Cool....check that out.
he is doing a close to the russian dance
Imagine this song played loudly while Russian and Ukrainian troops are fighting.
Both will jam to this👌..

You’re thinking of the Jig, the Irish dance, but you’re not wrong for calling us “ghetto”. We are the black people of white people after all.
It is a koşack dance, out of Russia. But he is wearing Turkish mamelucks… Some cocaine went into the production of this.
Milli Vanilli! Well, the singer anyways lol
when you watch this "performance" think Milli Vanilli
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPE....
Ukraine's New Anthem. 😂
Imagine the dancing he'd done if he wasn't having to skip rope with his mike cord
