  • We visited Tahawus, NY, a former bustling mining town which has been reduced to mostly chimney and collapsed buildings in the woods. Things have changed A LOT since the last time we visited. You park at the beginning of the road now and have to walk down to look at things. It also seems as if some of the wrecked houses have been reduced to just chimneys. The changes were really well done and it was fun to get to visit again and learn about the old town. I also pronounce the town name wrong the entire video!

Amazing engineering of its time. Its a shame these homes are not restored like in Wlilliamsburg.

Agreed! It is a shame the houses couldn't be restored. They were probably in too poor of shape - they were basically collapsed heaps of wood last time we were there.

Ironic that a cool breeze is coming out from a iron furnace.
