    Working Man’s Whitetails. I choose that name because in my opinion it represents who you guys and gals are. I would guess the bulk of your viewers have jobs similar to yours, even drive cars with nicknames like the blue smurf and have their car batteries go dead. It doesn’t look like you all are shooting a new thousand dollar bow each season. I hope that you’re able to continue hunting the style you guys video for many seasons to come. See you this summer in Wisconsin.

    You guys are the next generation of the hunting industry. What you guys and Dan Infalt are doing is just awesome for the sport! The industry is about to flip flop from pixy dust product pushing deer farming to this awesome style of DIY hunting.
    I also loved how you showed the basics of a thermal hub in your map. Helps me relate my stand sits in hubs that I've scouted on my own turf and what I've read on the beast.
    Thank you guys!

    Chances are you won't see this comment lol, but how come you wouldn't hunt a wind coming over the top of those ridges blowing towards the road, especially if you set your stand up on the road-side of those trails? I can see how you were trying to get your thermals to go up that ditch, but wouldn't a wind coming over those ridges be more consistent and would keep your thermals from traveling back down into the bottom? Or am i missing something about thermals and over-the-ridge winds?

    This is incredibly similar to a spot I focused on last year. Had such great sign and I saw a nice buck a week before season, but the deer didn't cooperate during November. Saving it as a backup for this fall.

  • @jasonhaga5412

    Good show! I found a similar place by accident (got lost coming out one day) that was a little thicker then your spot that was only 75-80 yards off a National Forest road. it was less than 150 yards east of a main parking area that had 4-6 vehicles in it during weekends. I killed 4 deer over 3 years there and seen many others.

    Love your guys videos and love how u break down the hunt! One thing that drives me nuts is The thing that puts the deer on the ground your Brodhead arguably the most important part of the equipment! And looks to me that you are using a Grim Reaper which takes incredible amount of energy to open and an awful lot of energy wasted! Usually when you shoot a deer with one of those expandable they take off like you had him him with an axe! All I am saying is try using a good solid single bevel broadhead and watch how much less they react when shot and two holes are always better than one big one! Dear may only run five or 10 steps walk along look around and don’t know what happen and fall over dead compared to taking off like a bullet when shot with a mechanical and just made your track and job that much harder!Just my two cents keep up the good work love your videos

    Do you have more luck hunting converging trails in the bottoms between ridges or trails that converge in a saddle near the tops of ridges? I hunt public big timber in Indiana, and have seemed to have most of my success close to the tops of ridges. Great Video and tough break on where he stopped. Nothing like getting a big boy in close, and they never offer up a clean shot.

    • @TheHuntingPublic
      @TheHuntingPublic  6 лет назад +1

      We have good luck in the saddles as well. Wind is definitely more consistent there. We tend to find more trails intersecting in the hubs. Safe bet to pay attention to both locations.

    Great video and information as usual from you guys. Random question, but any value in a grunt or tending grunt once the buck slowed to a trot and was out of range? Or because you already gave a "meh" it was already a done deal he was gone. Thanks again for the video.
