On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. Игры
The sound was very strange today. I could hear a lot of the SU57's whistling.
Hope for the sake of realism(?
@@Ariccio123 Nah man, it's the bird's hunting cry.
There was a video of a su57 flying over some people and the sound is from that video.
@@rododendron85 I know but I suspect it doesn't sound like that for the pilots. If the terrain and angle of aircraft were such that the sound was bouncing back at the pilot I'd understand but that's not how it comes across at all.
@@peekaboo1575 maybe GS put the sound over his video. You are right it sounds wierd
‘We have a whole bunch of missiles on our wings’……understatement of the year. You fired 11…..10 Fox3, and 1 Fox2, and still weren’t empty.
The sound of the Felon engines is amazing. Kinda scary too.
But would it really sound like that for the pilot? It was just strange.
@@peekaboo1575 No they wouldn't be able to hear it.

Make it fair at least, 2 Su-57 vs 1 I-16
that su 57 fly by audio loop had me scratching my head for the entire engagement
I can recall hearing this howling sound from a video of Felons flying overhead somewhere in Russia!
I never knew you could launch internally-carried missiles while inverted. Also that last missile almost looked like a SAM the way it pulled straight up 😂
That’s because missiles don’t just fall out of the bay. They are pushed out by some mechanism. So even though the Felon is inverted, the missile can be pushed out of the bay upon launch. Same goes for the F-22 Raptor.
@@aarontheaviationaddict3643 oh. I've always wondered if missles (even externally carried ones) can be drop-launched while inverted
I like how it looked like the missle came from his tail lol
2 F-35 vs 1 F-22 Merge
Yeah I would like to see that.
F-35 dogfights have been so neglected on this channel. I want to see how it fares against more planes.
Amazing work as always GS! Absolutely love that zoom in on the hud, it makes it much easier to see. Keep it up!
Dud... he put the awacs in the middle of the fight 😆, like what kind of setup is that? 🤦🏻♂️
@@StoneCoolds "AWACS is an acronym for “airborne warning and control system,” meaning the planes can use their radars in any weather, day or night, to surveille airspace out to a range of 250 miles, identify hostile aircraft, and direct friendly fighters to engage the threat."
200 miles isn't that far when your plane can cover the distance in 10 minutes.
Don't need to be super stealthy in this situation, just stealthy enough
The SU57 is a stealth plane, which had the RCS around 0.01m2 (as the size of the human fist or a bird). So the SU57 is a stealth, but not as stealthly as the F22 and F35 which has the RCS around 0.0001m2 (as the size of the small marble) and 0.005m2 (as the size of the pin ball). Even the 6 F16 didn't detect the SU57 at the medium to long range and still at the close range only 2 F16 able to launch only 1 AIM 120D at SU57, why because it has stealth capabilities, reduced RCS and ECCM and EW suite making it harder/difficult to look on radar and harder to lock on SU57 target. So the SU57 is stealth but not as stealthly as the F22 and F35.
This was an awesome show down, like the way the Felcon lower the altitude and increase the stealth from the Vipers look like a real shark attack from the Su-57.
It would be interesting to see a BVR fight with something like 6 or more F-16s vs 1 F-35, since the F-35 will be replacing the F-16 in several air forces (Danish, Dutch, Norwegian et cetera).
There's no F-35 in DCS.
@@Greg29 mods bro
@@Greg29 There's no SU-57 either, how did he make this video?
@@stevegredell1123 There IS, that's how.

Yeah its glitched and loops the sound.
Hey GS, an idea for a new combat format: instead of doing bandit unknown, do a loadout unknown. You and the bandit each have a total of 4 fox3s and 6 fox2s for 5 rounds. Neither of you knows, what the other guy brings to battle. Should be a lot of fun.
2 things;
1) A total of 4 fox-3's and fox-2's for all 5 rounds or individual rounds?
2) Not all aircraft can have the same loadout/missile capacity so this pretty much already applies
@@Kazperh No, it's the total amount of missles and you have to choose how many missles of which type you bring in each round. If you decide to bring 2 fox3s to your first round, you have 2 fox3s left for the coming 4 rounds ;)
I am trying to imagine this in a real perspective from the F-16 and their AWACS crew. This event I think would be terror for anyone who had to face that.
Call Tom Cruise. He'll clean it up with a Tomcat no problem. 😂
The su57 has a radar crossection of a football from the front so the awacs should see it with ease
@@ukkomies100 : Not if it datalinks its Axehead, and fires it beyond range. (heard a rumour the Su-57 is going to be carrying more than just Adders...)
Problem is the AWACS has the radar cross-section of an AWACS...
Apparently, NASAMS had one Fraud57 for launch, per implication lf Gen. Milley.
Aaaand another one bites the dust. Ka52, Su35, Kalibr, Kinzgal, T90M… all of them, one by one…
Why does it sound like an Su-57 is flying by constantly while you're in the cockpit?
so confusing
If your hear that sound, it means Su57 is in subsonic speed
I'm thinking the stealth penalty for carrying external missiles might be greater than what we saw here. Especially considering the external pylons are likely hard-mounted.
There’s a lot of rumor going around and its hard to know whats true especially since the su57 is unproven and both sides like to exaggerate but I’ve heard it essentially has the same radar signature as an f-18
And again its all hearsay but you would assume there is some truth to it considering the only time stealth planes have been possible to shoot down was when it’s weapons bays were open and we know having external weapons of anykind compromises stealth profiles
@@chriskey5414 obviously it's more stealthy than the f18 it's made with more composites.
@@jathiyakhan720 ok you say that but there is photo evidence of mismatched paneling exposed rivets and with external weapons on a very large bird i mean honestly you’d have an easier time getting a Cessna past an awacs. But hey I’m no rocket surgeon maybe having a sensor that pops out of the plane instead of integrating it like every other stealth plane has it’s advantages
The improved version/first serial model of SU57 has the RCS around 0.01m2 (as the size fo the human fist or a bird) yes it has improved stealth features capabilities by applying 30% RAM coating on it, the SU57 intake has S duct inlet plus boundaries extractor layer with radar blockers and reduced RCS making it more stealthly than the prototype model T50. While the T50 has less RAM coating with exposed rivets, back part of the engine nacelles, intake with no radar blockers, unfixed of weapons door and expose spectrum of IRST making it the RCS around 0.1m2 which as the same size of an F/A 18 and Rafael. Yes the first serial model of SU57 has improved stealth features and reduced RCS around 0.01m2, but still it is not as stealthly as the F22 and F35 which has the RCS around 0.0001m2 (as the size of the small marble) and 0.005m2 (as the size of the pin ball). The first serial model of SU57 has improved a lot, but still it needs to improve it.

I think it would be cool to see a 10 versus one merge with the SU-57, like you did with the Eurofighter
A battle between 4th Gen. and 5th Gen. is futile regardless whether 4th Gens. are in squadron.
Might be an interesting fight if you combat 6x F-22 and 6x Su-57 to see how that plays out fairly.
So cool to not only see what's going on, but also hear the immediate comments on what you're doing and why, basically makes all the decision-making process visible as well. Also curious to see how that worked out on the debrief.
Su-57 seems like a pretty capable aircraft here.

Piper Cub vs F22 Raptor
On a real note, I think it would be cool to see more dynamic scenarios like the fleet defense, or many an assault.
Rafale vs. Eurofighter! 4 rounds. Exchsnge of aircraft after each round! That would be a great duckfest!
Two SU-57s vs ten F-16s.
Question for Taco, why bring the AWACS in closer? Better chance of getting radar returns off the Felon? Or trying to bait GS into an area your flight could reacquire it? Great flying from GS regardless. Plenty of other situations to try out with this kind of engagement.
I do want to see how many Gee’s that Archer fox 2 pulled. That was an incredible turn there.
They are capable from 40G~50G pull
Are we just casually going to ignore how the su57 holds ten fox 3s 😂 AND HAS ROOM FOR some fox 2s
(I know it is using wing pylons but still impressive)
The improved version/ first serial model of SU57 has the RCS around 0.01m2 (as the size fo the human fist or a bird), the SU57 carry upto 10 active radar missile and 2 infrared missile. Which means it can take internally 4 active radar missile on the main bay and 2 infrared missile on the side bay for the stealth configuration. While in a full weapons combat on SU57 it can carry 6 external weapons pylons, but by putting the weapons on pylons it will increase the RCS around 0.15m2. But still the 6 F16 didn't detect the SU57, only 2 F16 able to see the SU57 but still it was difficult to lock on SU57 target and able to launch the missile only 1 missile on a close range, WHY because it has stealth capabilities, reduced RCS and ECCM and EW suite making it harder/difficult to see on radar and harder to lock on SU57 target. Even that the AWACS also has a problem why because it can find the SU57 but not properly where it is. Making it harder to look on radar. So the SU57 is a stealth, but not as stealthly as the F22 and F35 which has the RCS around 0.0001m2 and 0.005m2. But remember the stealth is not always invisible on radar, whether it is F22, F35, SU57 and J20 it will detect mostly from the close range by using strong radar/low frequency radar which make it easier to detect the stealth aircraft, but mostly it will detect on a close range.
@@heatblast876 thanks, very cool information.
@@heatblast876 It'll further decrease to 0.002-0.001 after using new stealth engine and new intake grills

Your Felon was making some very spooky noises during the fight. Very fitting for Halloween night.
For the next or future videos, you should do two SU-57s or F-22s vs six or even ten 4th gen fighters. Just imagine the havoc you could wreak with two 5th gens fighters in a battle.
That's the Su-57 famous whistle
@@subjectc7505 the fact that you can hear it in the cockpit is a bug, it's a sliced audio from a fly-by clip
@@blu4734 I think GS put an audio overlay, because I don't think the original model has the howl.
@@subjectc7505 The whistle was modeled in beforehand actually, but I think here GS just kicked it up a notch
The funny thing about this plane, there are only 3-8 prototypes. No production planes. It is just like the Russian T-14 Armata tank; pulled out only for parades. I don't see why people get to enthralled with hype, especially Russian hype. At the core of both, I predict balsa wood and duct tape.
I would love to see you fly one of the f-16s or something like that in scenrios like this and see how it goes
that fox2 launch was insane...
I believe that GS was tickled pink for the first 45 seconds just popping off missiles right and left.
At the very least, knocking out the Sentry, should make them radar active and get you an RWR bearing.
Can modern fighters use the AWACs radar to guide a missile or is it only good to show where the enemy is?
Also, GS. An F35 BVR fight with a SU57 might be interesting (can't remember if youv'e already done that fight).
There is no F-35 in DCS.

You should do this fight again, but the other way around. You and 5 other F-16s vs 1 Su-57.
Great fight you should bring the felon a bit more
Great content like usual
Hey growling i love your videos! i was wondering if you could do a SU35 vs su27 dogfight
Man i wish my country India wouldn't have exited from the SU 57 program. We saw Pak Fa prototype and thought it is not complete stealth. But now that i think it happened for good that we are now developing our own 5th gen aircraft. Also it would be hard for Russia to supply us SU 57 aircrafts and spare parts with all those US sanctions
Buddy there is no Su-57 program. Russia has only for of them for itself how are they gonna supply other countries. Su-57 project is a failure
@@josh35292 They've got 9 now, plus having more investment and buyers will further ensure that the program doesn't fail. What tells you the program is dead? They just received 4 more aircraft in August in August lmao

The su57 is such a cool aircraft. With that being said, the canopy bow on that thing is absurd. Great vid as always man.
Ya Russia has never been concerned with their pilots being able to see out the canopy for some reason
@@reboundrides8132 back in the USSR days they were much more invested in ground guided interceptions, so the pilot was more there to follow instructions, making visibility less important.
In more modern times, I'm not sure of the doctrine, but I wonder if it bled over.
I’m kinda wondering if it’s sometimes useful when pointing at the sun, gives you something to shade your eyes behind.
That said, the F-35 and the whole “see through the airplane” thing means that cockpit designs will probably be less and less important.
@@Justanotherconsumer fighter pilots usually have the option of flying with a tinted visor on sunny days for such occasion. Uv protection much better than an opaque piece of material you can’t see through. Equivalent of putting your visor down in your car, it helps but also cuts 40% of your view.
Would the AWACS be that close to the engagment?
I don't think so. Unless the idiots planned the fight.
Those cloud graphics look insane! Is that the latest beta?

Aloha @GS, do you think a 5th Gen fighter can pull off that vs 10 Eurofighters challenge?

great work as always GS!!
That SU57 turquoise colored interior (and all Russian greenish cockpits) reminds of my local hospital, all hallways are in same color 🤢
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
Flawless! Good vid!
That was cold... 6 Vipers + 1 AWACS, the kill count must be around 20+
Can you do that again but with only internal payload?
This one is more of challenging than the F22 vs 7 Eurofiters.
When that Battlefield Theme kicks in.
How about an 1 F-22 vs 10 Eurofighters?? The MiG never stood even the slightest chance, but I think an F-22 would have a pretty interesting outcome. I bet the F-22 could kill all of them at least once, with a LOT of luck.
Thank you GS!!
Not a chance realistically. In DCS I don't know because they are mods.
Actually mig 29 able to shot down 3 Euro fighter typhoon in a dogfight. But yeah, to complete all the match, the mig 29 has to shot down all the Euro fighter typhoon, but the mig 29 didn't defeated all the Euro fighter typhoon in dogfight, instead it able to defeat 3 of them out of 10.
Flying one of the ten prototypes I see. I mean supposedly there's ten prototypes and six serialized, but two were shot down by Maverick, and one by Hangman.
Got a question, so you used the data link and the IRST so you were totally passive right?
@@singular9 I'm not up to date on the Russian missiles, so I wasnt sure. Last time I played DCS was flaming cliffs. I can remember how the IRST worked but its been awhile.
Uncovering the IRST would massively increase the radar signature. There's a decent chance that using the LPI characteristics of the AESA radar in the SU-57 (or at least I would assume they have LPI) it would be less detectable than using the IRST.
This shows how much advantage a stealth aircraft has over a non-stealth aircraft in a BVR fight. It's like flying in the dark with some guidance for 4th gen aircraft.
