Awwww, just today I watched Carlos meeting him after all these years & gifting him those congos?!! Found this to see his coming back up from homelessness, then learn he died... This man was not meant to die homeless alone, he obviously by what improvements I see here meant to be brought back into fames limelight!!! I love it, full circle! Thanks! Bitter sweet news RIP

I think he gave him some bucks and took him to vegas, but not much more. Man this guy could had been in woodstock with jimmy hendrix, janis joplin becoming a legend and having a life as a musician, but he end up in jail for defending a woman and then living in the street. In wikipedia it says that he had an accident a couple of years ago. I don’t know if he is good, but I really hope the best for him

you all would be hard pressed not to smoke crack and drink yourself out of your mind if you had ever been to a california state prison and made it out. more power to you marcus . ive been out of prison since 2008 and off parole since 2009 but i can truly say i dont ever think i will ever forget the horrors of those places. i like marcus was homeless when i paroled. i recycled and did any temp labor job i could get. eventually (almost two years ago) i found a regular part time job and was finally able to get off the streets by finding a place to rent in tijuana that was cheap enough. i would still be homeless if i had to live in the usa. even with my job i couldnt afford to rent here in san diego let alone the bay area. so marcus, much respect brother! i for one feel ya!

From what I've read, Marcus defended a woman during a domestic violence incident he witnessed at the woman's residence and he wound up killing the guy. He went to prison for many years because of it. He said he had to fight for his life. If you're defending a woman, and then wind up having to fight for your own life, an unintentional fatality could occur, and it could have gone either way. If a man finds it necessary, for whatever reason, to beat up on a woman and another man is present, I would hope that man would help her. I have five brothers and two sons, and I think all of them would have done the same thing.

who ever is calling him a murder needs to do some research on how he got charged with manslaughter it was a self defense situation. He was seeing a girl who had a jealous boyfriend who showed up on them and started to beat the shit out of her Marcus could of left and let this guy kill her but he said he couldn't sit back and watch this man beat up a woman so he stepped in to stop it. the guy turned on him then he was in a situation fighting for his life and we all know how that fight ended. Sad story but im happy he got to relive his dream again...No matter how bad life gets you should never give up

I'll give him all the credit in the world for doing this. ANYONE that plays the drums has to have strong arms and lots of upper body strength. You could tell that he was "winded" a couple of times in the video but he hung in there and never quit. If Mr. Malone and Mr. Santana had not taken 45 years to reconnect. Mr. Malone's life surely would have turned out a lot different had it been sooner.

I am not from that generation but that was music from the soul. Santana is a kind humble man, he's a true friend, there should be more people like him. Marcus was magnificent. GOD BLESS ALL MUSICIANS FOR THEIR TALENT.
