That TT maybe is one of the most reliable sports car in that era and even for the next one. Mine is the same, but with the smallest engine. Now it shows 540 000 km on the clock and runs like a hero. Try to buy the newest models, you will get the white hairstyle in no time.
Just bought a 2003 TT and I was thrilled to find a video on a similar model that isn't a decade old. I definitely want to see everything you guys do for this guy because I suspect I'm going to run into a lot of similar issues. But that's sort of what you expect when you opt for a 20 year old car.

Sold our mk1 at 200k, still in great condition. Remapped, exhaust, v6 brakes, air filter and a few subtle blingy bits. Guy who bought it stripped it out and raced it ! One of the best cars we’ve ever owned.

I Believe the Cupra R brakes are indeed an upgrade, as with the 3.2 VR6, they are bigger than the 225 factory fitted ones. Multi Piston callipers and a larger diameter disc. Keep this in mind if you're purchasing spares.
Had my old tt for about a year and already tackled most of those same issues. Apart from one electrical gremlin that actually caused a short in ecu, most of my issues were luckily surprisingly easy to fix. Most of my issues were same as yours.
Does this haldex controller overheat the haldex system? I mean, once the haldex will be working 100% of the time, maybe you'll face oil overheating in the haldex. Is it possible to happen and there is an aftermarket solution to this?
I thought the same when I had my tt the power was terrible A map made the car perform so much better can't remember what boost I was running but think it was 1.5 bar You will no if the fuel pump is going bad as you will start getting fuel cut Pumps pretty easy to change though just need to drop the tank And get a better exhaust as the stock one is so quiet

The new exhaust will make it sound so good badger 5 in stroud make a great intake pipe for the tt I had one on my car Halden controllers are available but expensive I never did it online but there is some kind of bung you fit into the Haldex and its supposed to give you more drive to the rear wheels to make almost a 50/50 drive I look forward to the videos coming on this car and see what you do to it
Just picked up a 180 Quattro on a 06 plate for 2k FSH Timing and water pump done at 63k Not a mark on it in the dark blue they did. Running the AUQ lump completely unmolested (for now)

@ZafiraSteve when Glen fitted the earth strap the vcds still couldn't communicate with the haldex unfortunately. I will be ordering a service kit and we will fit the new controller the same time, so fingers crossed 🤞

@@accelerateyoutube Sounds good, plus a professional mechanic is a bonus. Paid 3K for my 86k 225 roadster 2 years back. Have almost spent the same on servicing and upgraded brakes (Brembo's). Great to see the value has now dropped to around 2k...lol

Yep, I’m 6’4” and fit the TT. Could not get comfy in a Z4, Boxster and forget about the Honda S2000.
One of the criteria with me buying mine was so the other half could fit in it 😅

That rear earth strap is why your haldex isn't working
We've done that since the video, still no good so I've bought a new controller
