Drilling the cuticle part of the gel nail before applying is genius
I keep my nails short but I loooove a clean cuticle! This was so cozy and relaxing. They came out great, and I love the nod to fall 😊 I'm looking at a few colors to add to my docket.

Just letting you know base coat only matter if you’re using a high pigmented nail color so you don’t stain your natural nail 😊
but if ur using gel x nails it wouldnt stain her nail color right
I agree. I do, however, use a basecoat with my applications because I do fill-ins most of the time and it helps to remove the color without me filing down to actual nail too much. Pretty much acting as a barrier but if I am going to soak off and do a new application I don't bother to apply.

Tysm for the video! I just graduated from nail tech school and base coat is only used to lengthen the life of gel polish on your natural nails. There's no need to use it on tips, BIAB, or acrylic 😊💝

I have practiced this method about 2 years and I love it. The longer times that I have had them it's 1 month. It's not good to have them so long but they work really good for me. And make you save a lot money.

You are so cute! And your nails turned out great! I’m self taught as well but I rarely do any nail designs. I usually just use semi cured gel nails if I want a design. I just don’t have time.

I'm learning how to do gel nails on myself and have been STRUGGLING with an overflowing cuticle and excess gel at the natural edge because I don't have a gooseneck lamp, but this taught me SOOOOOOO much!!! Thank you for the tips!!!

Loved your design and tut! I don’t use base coat with gel x nails either, mostly cause the nail extension itself is made out of gel so a base coat isn’t really needed in my opinion!

I just started doing my own nails and this was super helpful, thank you! I may have gone to beauty school so I have a salon license, but I didn’t study nails, just skin 😂
Now I see why my gel nails pop off. I am not applying enough glue and the most I did to prep my nails was buff it to remove oil and made the gel nail gritty inside, but I'm going to try these extra steps. Thank you for this detailed video

Beautiful design and great suggestions to make nails last longer and look more natural! Do you like your e-file? I have one from many many years ago and it doesn’t seem very strong but I’m thinking all of the cheap ones meant for homes are like that 🤷♀️

😍 Just came across your channel and I loveeee! Obsessed with nail videos and doing mine and my daughters at home. Still learning and trying to perfect it. Did you find the extra step in filling the cuticle area on the nail tips help it look more natural especially once they start growing out?? I feel like mine look a little bulky around the cuticles especially once they start to grow out.
Hi! Sorry, super late. But Yes I definitely recommend filing the cuticle to make that part a little thinner and help it look more seamless as it grows out 🙌🏽🙌🏽

i like to etch the inside of the nail w a nail drill then use primer my nails have never lasted longer

Hi! your nails turned out soo pretty!! I have a question, when you apply the last top coat, do you clean it after? or just cure it and leave it as it is?
I cure it and leave it as it because it is a “non wipe” top coat made specifically so there is no sticky residue! With regular top coat you will have to wipe that layer off

i only use the base coat if I'm using a regular nail polish that is not a gel polish and then I had a top coat. i tried polish without a base and only a top coat and it didn't last long

@YalianaEnid the only problem I have with these type of nails are how flimsy the ends are compared to how acrylic is. How would you fix that what do you think about that what would you do?
That's what I came to comments to see if anyone spoke about this. I've had my nails done for YEARS and I wear pre-designed tips but the acrylic is over the entire nail. My nail & the tips which makes it a complete hard nail. Not flimsy. Then gel over the entire nail. I'm struggling to understand how she wears them like this. Won't they break all day??? 🤷🏾♀️
