yea, they should make larger one too.

Turning between centers ould have actually been easier for this instance. You would have also kept concentricity flipping the part and doing the threaded end this way. I am impressed the Proxxon can single-point thread rebar. As a mod, I would look at making a tool holder that bolts directly to the cross slide to increase rigidity. Also, bolting the lathe down would be a good idea. I don’t know about your area, but we have a lot of granite stone cutting near me, so if I was to bolt it down, I would put it on a piece of granite of appropriate size ( cheap and not too big). Also, you can do some milling in that lathe by spinning a cutter in the spindle. There are milling attachments that bolt to the cross slide.

Rebar was very hard in the outside but i realized its softer inside. But for short parts proxxon is way rigid than i expect. I will keep in mind your suggestion for future project. I am not %100 satisfied with the finished concentricity it need som improvement in the future. Proxxon manuel if teeling me to bolt it down but the reason why i didnt do it with both my lathe and milling machine is, i live in apartment and my workshop is my balcony which is around 2 square meter :) i cant put my lathe and milling machine on the table same time :) So i need some mobility all the time that why i cant bolt them for now. But it is really hard do operate them without bolting down. Granite might be perfect solution not just increase rigidity also i can use it a referance plate but i dont want to bring heavy thing to my very small place. I am searching for some bolting solution for my micro machine shop :) Proxxon pd 250's cross slide is very very small. I would never tyr to make milling with that attachment. I am afraid it can damage the carrier. cross slide's bottom part is made of zinc. Forcing it may damage ı guess.

Just for safety, there’s a possibility of the chuck jaws being ejected from the chuck when the lathe is turned on and the jaws aren’t tightened up on something. Great video! Thanks for posting!

You are right but i never force it while there is nothing clamped. Its just for setup and small trial under low rpm. Even i wouldnt try it without the pressure of tail stock on working piece. I am afraid chuck itself might fly away. :) than you for your comments.

Когда-то мечтал о таком. Но сейчас вижу, что тот же 180х300 или WM210 куда более производительнее. Этот скорее для хоббистов-минитаюрщиков, гвозди точить и т.п.

Well this lathe has all the functions bigger ones has. But yes it is very small. Maybe mostly hobbiest are using this but you can get very proffesional results with small parts. precision is high. I really need bigger one such as you mentioned but the restriction is ı dont have enough space. Even turning 16 mm rebar is extremely hard for this lathe. Not because its not have enough power, chuck jaws are small for holding. This is the reason why i try to use bigger chuck. ıt has no problem holding 16mm rebar.

That Rebar is tough to machine on a small lathe, nice job.

Thank you for your comment. I am new to machining and rebar turning is way harder than i think :)

I am shopping for a small(ish) late and matching mill. Why? Just because such a pair would please me. I do preision work in the area of tool and die-making. For a couple of years now I've been studying, watching videos. Seems like far too many of those (made you know where) lathes ship with problems that the buyer is burden with identifying and repairing. I get the idea the retailers never see the lathe and have no opportunity to physically inspect it. This is unsatisfactory.
Proxxons seem different. Designed in Germany? I've not seen a video yet of one that needed anything more than the usual leveling and truing adjustments by the buyer.
I like the Proxxon line but they are just a bit smaller than I want. If the PD250E was scaled up by a factor of 2 I would buy one immediately. A 10 inch lathe is just too small for my work. Price is not a primary consdideration. Charge what you have to charge but don't compromise and above all don't leave it to the buyer to find and repair factory screw ups.
    Thanks...
