Great to see this tool added to the mix. I have this Bosch GBH 18V-36 C and it is very comfortable to use (as you said). I will be curious to see how it stacks up to others. Not sure why Bosch drops the rpms so low in their rotary hammers (and not sure that it matters). The MAX to SDS-plus adapter lets you run the inexpensive (and smaller diameter) SDS-plus drill bits (including 14mm).
Milwaukee boasts that their new 2916-20 M18 FUEL blows this Bosch (and every other 1-9/16th rotary hammer) away with 30% faster drill time on a 20mm (3/4") hole. The 2916-20 comes it two form factors.
Batteries continue to get attention. The MXFHD812 MX FUEL 12-amp REDLITHIUM FORGE Battery for lists for $1,149 US/ $1,686 AUD. Just for a battery. A Prius Hybrid battery goes for the same $. That is crazy.

Yeah the 2916 looks like a beast, but then it has the same specs as the smaller-rated Drop motor 2915. Here they're rated to 32 & 28mm respectively. I have the 2915 and it does dominate the other 28mm hammers I have, but it's also like 40% bigger. Really it's a 32mm hammer, not 28. I think Milwaukee has down-rated their new gen hammers cos the old gen was pretty weak. But now the 2916 I think is rated correctly so we'll see what they do there.
And damn those batteries are getting out of control! Bosch has also released a tabless procore plus battery for the really big tools. Apparently it improves their runtime & power fade on the giant tools, but doesn't help with small ones, which is what you'd expect. A motor can only draw so much current. Now I have some bigger hammers I'm keen to try them out, when they eventually get down here

Thanks for reminding that you have the M15, I forgot that one was in the mix. Great comparison.

I think the hikoki sds that can go corded or corless would be pretty interesting

Yeah I like that they're doing brushless corded tools now too. Sure it's not needed for efficiency like battery tools, but it means they can do all the advanced features like electronic braking. For high- end tools it's going to be common for sure

Lets go first sds max looking very nice

This would be the only sds max I’ve seen with a reverse function. The SDS plus version has all the same model, with no rotation only mode, however once the included jaw chuck is fitted on the tool there is rotation only.

Indeed, I'm not sure what you'd use the standard drill chuck for on the 18v-34, with only 500rpm it wouldn't be very good for drilling wood. Stirring/mixing maybe?

Not sure. I never use the standard drill chuck. My preference is fixed chuck over a changeable chuck model.
The only negative about the 18v-34 not, having a switch selector for rotation only. I can’t run a re bar cutter on it, and the cutter don’t fit too well in the standard drill chuck. Not a biggie for me, I’ve got multiple rotaries set up on a job. Might be a problem for someone who buys the 18v-34 and that their only rotary.

That's a good point: rebar cutters are usually SDS and not for impacting. Strange that Bosch did that. Spoilers: the 34c will be in my next video, so if there's anything you'd like me to test let me know!

    Thank you. Great review.
Can you also review drill bits for iron?
    Thank you very much.

Could you do the same test with one of the smaller sds drills? Maybe the GBH 18V-21?
