I will be home soon, I'll stop to eat..shop...I traveled Highway 1 on my way to NORTHWESTERN....1966-67..SWEETEST MEMORIES OF MY LIFE...
I traveled HWY 1 from the Arkansas state line to Armestead LA for work, prior to I-49. I enjoyed the little stops for gas or a cold drink.
Sad to watch. I grew up in the quaint town of Boyce in the mid 60s and now its gone. All I have left is my memories.
sorry to hear! thank you for sharing!
I grew up in Boyce and it with thru a 5 decade of partying and gambling and over populated... Boyce was known for being a very busy and fun little town we're also way smaller than the other near by towns so we played different because everybody was athletic even the chubby ones 😆 🤣 😂 the natural of the town was zydeco with lilttle everything else as long as its something physical 😆...
Boyce not gone!
I grew up in LA close to LA 1..miss the old days and the good people of Louisiana.
love most of these places.. but Lou & Laura's is also a wonderful place to eat at as well
Spent my childhood on Highway 1 almost every weekend between 1962 and 1977. Traveling from Shreveport to my grandparents in Bellwood which is a few miles south of Provençal which is a few miles south of Nachitoches.
My first trip to natchitoches was in 1977 no n/s l-49. I had to find that town . Me and my motorcycle found it. I graduated in 1979. Never used l-49. But it was money well spent on Louisiana infrastructure
This was for watchmaking school
I grew up in Natchitoches parish, live in Houston now, I go back every few years to visit old friends and relatives, oh, I graduated in 79 also
I was raised up in Louisiana and yes I miss the good folk
Love these videos.
I w a s born in Creole hurricanes have almost erased it! Raised in Cameron Louisiana it's lost most of its residents also! One hurricane killed 2 of my brothers.
Oh goodness I'm so sorry. That's awful.
I didn't know that highway 1 was a dead end road.
Reminds me a bit of Route66 back in Missouri
Nothing more welcoming to outsiders than a speed trap.
Well just don’t speed lol
1994. A simpler time.
Im from Louisiana originally my grandmother and grandfather were from these little towns natchitoches actually i still love to visit but i wouldnt want to live there
This is sad
agreed! it's a nice reminder to take in what you see next time you go from one town to another!
Any updates as of 2024?
