- Took a solo trip down from New Orleans to Grand Isle, Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island, to experience beach camping in Grand Isle State Park, biking LA Highway 1, drone cinematography over the Gulf of Mexico, and to practice filmmaking a short adventure.
I used to go crabbing here as a kid when I lived in Baton Rouge.
Just discovered your channel, the way you film & make these videos is so nice & alot of the places you've been I have as well & I appreciate your sense of adventure. Subscribed

thanks, it can be frustrating but also rewarding 👍
My sister-in-law, her husband and family lived on Grand Isle for many years. My husband, his other sister and I would spend weeks, even months with them. The Mardi Gras‘s were lots of fun. Although they had to leave at every hurricane this time they aren’t moving back. They own Island Daiquiri and Castaways (it was demolished by the hurricane).
Those sound like wonderful memories. I'm sorry to hear their businesses were destroyed by the recent hurricane. I hope they're doing well wherever they've decided to start anew! Thanks for sharing!
Very artistic I love the video keep it up young man.
Thank you! More coming soon!
Glad you got to see it before Ida destroyed it and made it unaffordable for middle class people
Thanks, I’m glad I got to do this before Ida swept through. I’d be interested to go back and see how it is now
Great video!
Thank you!!
I used to live there
Nice!
Yo! Love the Neistat influence to tell cool stories about places you visit. You've motivated me to get out and shoot some shit!
Hey! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this 🙌
What was the temperature and humidity like?
80s F during the day, 70s at night back at the end of April. Probably about 60-70% humidity. Constant ocean breeze the whole time.
Great video man.
Thanks, Brian! Thanks for watching 👍
Horrible rip ride in the video
Definitely don’t wanna get caught up in the rip tides!
Thinking of booking a trip here to propose to my gf
hope she doesn’t see this comment thread 😂 , but that’d be beautiful!
Is grand isle park still close?
As of the last update in January 2022 from Grand Isle State Park’s Facebook page, the state park is still closed until further notice to the effects of Hurricane Ida.
