As a Patriots fan, I was absolutely crushed by the '08 Super Bowl loss. First, I'll get this out of the way: Giant deserved to win the 2012 SB against the Patriots - I have no doubts about my team's loss. Going back to the '08 SB; Boston radio talk shows, the entire world really, was just shitting on the fact that the Giants even made it to the Super Bowl and the Patriots were going to roll on them. Talks about winning by 3+ touchdowns or more, I remember it like it was yesterday. However, after that loss, I didn't realize how much I actually cared about sports and I actually teared up from a sports team losing. That all being said, I have so much respect for Eli Manning. Dude deserved that 2012 Super Bowl for sure with clutch after clutch throws. But the way he carried himself and how he never engaged in the "is Eli an elite quarterback" discussion, he was/is a consummate professional. The one thing that I really feel bad for him is the McAdoo-doo decision to sit Eli to ruin his ironman starting games streak - Eli didn't deserve that! Continue to look forward to catching Eli where ever he is on screen. That dude must be protected

Man! That Julian Edelman catch TRUMPED all the other "circus-catches" I've witnessed, including the "helmet catch" !! And he caught it against THREE defenders.
We are huge Giants fans and my son's middle name is Manning because of this game. At the time my wife was pregnant with our first child and the last 2 boys born in our family were born in the years the Giants won their previous Super Bowls ('87 and '91). Our family joked with us that if the Giants won the Super Bowl and we had a boy we had to name it after a Giant. Low and behold the Giants won and 4 months later our son Mason was born. I liked Mason Elijah but my wife said "Mason Manning sounds better" and so it was, Mason Manning was his name. My wife got pregnant again in 2012 and the Giants won again but this time we had a daughter. We kept with the tradition and named her Marley Cruz. The Giants haven't won since and now the joke is we need to have more kids so they can take home another Super Bowl Championship.

Shout out to Tom Coughlin for playing the starters when he didn’t have to in week 17 and going for the big win against the patriots. Even though they lost, that game ended up being positive and gave the team confidence.

This was fantastic! Almost 15 years on and I still think of what could've been. As a life long Pats fan, since the early 80s, here and I have seen some really bad seasons over the years. The time since the 2001 season was nothing short of magical and winning this one game would've have been icing on the cake.
Without a doubt the biggest game in the history of the NFL. Never had so much been on the line in a game/Superbowl. 19-0 would be the greatest achievement in NFL history. Probably we will never see an undefeated team make it to the Superbowl to replicate this situation.

On one of the Giants DVD's, you can watch Super Bowl 42 with Michael Strahan commentating. He said that in that cold Green Bay game they had those icy-hot hand warmers in their socks (not pepper flakes ha ha) to keep their feet warm.
I picked the Giants that game. I believed it could happen. Was my favorite Super Bowl for many years. Think 28-3 might surpass it but definitely in my top 3.
The look Sam got from Tedy reminds me of a moment of terrible timing. I was working the door of a nightclub in Portland, June of 2019. Ndamukong Suh and his group of like 20 guys rolled up in a bunch of very nice custom muscle cars.. I didn't even think about my Patriots hat. In my 20s, I was a 6'6" 310 pound power lifter/martial artist. I have since gotten old and fat. I'm still fairly intimidating to regular people, but there's zero doubt in my mind that he'd take me out in 3 or fewer hits if there was a real fight. Dude's solid oak. The look when I smiled and welcomed him to the bar made me think, "What did I… oh crap, my hat." I said, "Oh uh, sorry about the hat. I'm from Boston." He grumbled that it was cool. Then every one of his friends just roasted my ass on the way in over the hat. It was funny as hell. That was a fun night.

Why are they talking about SB42 as if its a game people don't remember? It's at WORST the 2nd best upset in Super Bowl history, and such an iconic game that ABC replayed it Easter 2020 when there were no live sports being played in the US. Every diehard football fan remembers this game.
Wasn't a Patriots fan but man I wanted to see them dethrone the Dolphins. Didn't hate the Patriots they just weren't my team. I'm a Cowboys fan. I know right. Blew me away when Eli looked like he was sacked and wiggled his way out of all those defensive players and made the play. At that moment it was like the damn Giants are going to pull out this win against the undefeated Patriots. Lol Nobody I knew picked the Giants. Goes to prove it takes a little luck to win it all to.
Not only in the grasp but either seymour or Wilfork had a giant completely elbow locked around his neck so bad that he’s like clawing at the forearm holding that didn’t get called

Show needs an inflatable recharge - so so good Jules
Javier was rated the # 1 villain of all time .
Tbh for some reason, when the giants almost beat the patriots in that regular season game. I knew they were going to win the super bowl
Why are they talking about SB42 as if its a game people don't remember? It's at WORST the 2nd best upset in Super Bowl history, and such an iconic game that ABC replayed it Easter 2020 when there were no live sports being played in the US. Every diehard football fan remembers this game.
Dumbest question wow
Awesome concept and episode. Need to get Edelman on We might be drunk
Genuinely think about this all the time: I believe Super Bowl 53 is THE best game of all time
Superbowl 46 halftime was Madonna. RHCP + Bruno Mars was the Seattle/Denver superbowl
