Danny Dimes was the definition of next man up. The literal main difference between a blue collar tradesmen and a Diva is stepping up when needed. And for a utility guy to come thru for us when Jules got hurt for a while or all the unbelievable playoff moments Dan had it was always team first.
Personally the Falcons bowl game was just like over the mountain for me and my fam it was just surreal. We averaged 7-10 games a year for the pats home and away. I was a diehard Brady fan. But The great team play by Jules and Danny against Seattle put us over the edge and that was a sweet season

I wouldn't say he's "under" appreciated. He was supposed to be Welker's replacement, he didn't end up being that and got injured pretty frequently, but made some amazing catches in the playoffs to help us win two rings. I think Danny Amendola is just the right amount of appreciated 😁

I've been a fan since I was a kid watching in 85 when they lost to the Bears, so I remember the whole Brady/Belichick era well and I agree. This might be my favorite Pats super bowl also. The first against the Rams in 01 will always be special and hard to beat, but 2016 28-3 might be better just because it was so incredible how so many things needed to happen for the come back, and they all happened for them. I still can't believe they actually pulled it off

      @chestrockwell1794 Год назад

Agreed on Hightower. I was always very critical of him and him tackling Lynch at the 1 against Seattle and obv the Strip Sack on Atlanta defines what’s in his blood. Just like Danny and Jules and Hogan etc. it was a helluva ride,, some of those games took years off my ticker, but we always prevailed and it was always confidence no matter who was coming up next when we had that team.
Best moment for me was traveling to Pittsburgh when Jesse James touchdown pass was overturned,, what a game. We were literally at war in the crowd. At war. But we walked out beads held high and left that city draping a massive Pats flag in Monday AM traffic in Pittsburgh.

And then the Julio Jones catch on the sideline. That’s when my hope hit 0, we had to not only prevent another first down but we needed to back them up 20 yards out of field goal range.

One of the greatest days of my life with some of my lifelong best friends. The revenge tour. Doing it for Galynn. For Tom. For the boys! Game had all the emotions. From the depths of despair to the highest heights emotionally. Tom cemented his legacy, didn't have to say a single word to Goodell at the trophy presentation but the hypothetical middle finger in his face was crystal clear. Tom once again proved his greatness on the world stage, and against all odds became a real life superhero that night. Talk about total euphoria. That high lasted for weeks.

It felt great being able to watch the second generation of the patriots dynasty, 2014,2016,2017,2018 were all great years even though we lost one.. 2016 is the greatest football game I’ve ever seen, and being the only patriots fan out of a group of 11 at our SB party, having everyone I know hate the pats, it felt great to see this comeback, True grit, never giving up... it was a rollercoaster of emotions watching this game, I was absolutely ecstatic watching them bully the falcons after feeling so defeated, everyone I knew that hated the pats were so pissed off at the end, I loved it. Truly miss seeing the 2014-18 guys ball out, especially Brady, Gronk, Dola, Edelman and Hogan. I don’t enjoy watching the NFL as much anymore since they’ve all left the pats or retired. There will never be another group of players like them.

This is thee greatest game I’ve ever watched. Ever. I remember everyone at my house were going against the patriots and giving me shit for being the only Brady lover there and at halftime I wasn’t even scared. I kept telling everyone that they were gonna come back and they were so mad when it was happening and I was having so much fun!
But this game specifically is why Tom Brady is the GOAT. No other qb: Farve, Mahomes, Rodgers ect could do what Brady did in this game. Coming back from 28-3 in the end of the 3rd quarter and doing it in the super bowl. Brady is the only one who proved he could do it in this specific environment and moment. Mahomes had a chance when he played Bucs in the SB and couldn’t do it. And Brady did it without Gronk. Insane.

The sideline talk from both sidelines is so much fun from that game. Helluva story is a sentence creating legends out of Tom and Jules. But the other team talking about whether Tom can come back from that deficit and I can't remember who but on the Patriots side was the question "Do you think we are going to win?" and you can't hear the person responding but the response was, "Yeah, I do, too." Makes me laugh my head off every time I have watched that game.

Seriously! People don't understand basic science. 🙄 Professor John Leonard of the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT has a good article in Sports Illustrated OR for those that can't be bothered to read, he has a lecture about it posted on RUclips.
Exponent didn't recreate accurate conditions in their experiments & falsified their results to provide Tom Wells w/ what he wanted/needed to "prove" his foregone conclusion. There's a good piece that goes over this (on PatsPulpit). There are other cases where they've essentially been bought too (tobacco & auto industries 🤑).
Better yet, Mike Florio found evidence when researching his book (Playmakers), that the NFL (Executive VP Troy Vincent) was the source that led to the initial inaccurate article about the situation published by Chris Mortensen (that was adjusted months later). The NFL did sporadic football pressure checks at subsequent games during 2015, but never released that data & NFL General Counsel Jeff Pash had it destroyed, likely b/c it would have exonerated the Patriots. That all came out in early 2022. Sadly, it doesn't get back the 2016 1st round pick or 2017 4th round pick, nor a time machine that would allow an unsuspended Brady to play in those first 4 games of the 2016 season, nor give back $1-million to the team.

Nothing like living and experiencing Boston Sports from 2001 to 2021! We were truly spoiled. All 4 sports teams winning titles and being in the playoffs every year. Sometimes having to choose between which playoff game at the same time I’m gonna watch. Patten, Brown, Welker, Edelman, Moss, Gronk. Smh. The Falcons game. We had a bunch of undrafted and late picks that won that title

I've won so much money off the Patriots by betting with my heart. The one time I thought I was betting with my head I took Cincinnati in the famous " Its on to Cincinnati" game. I brought great shame to my family.

I watch the highlights every couple months just for the way it pumps me up!! I was down, sad, depressed, and shocked and almost went to bed. Then it happened! Everything had to go right and it did. Juliana catch, best catch ever in the NFL. The ball was 1 inch from the ground and he got it! James White was huge!! Amendola was another Julian or Welker! Then the next year, they had so much success throwing it to James White the year before out of the backfield that I assumed they would continue that and the first three four games of the season they didn't do any of it. Then James White ended up on the bench most of the year. We didn't win a super bowl that year and I always feel like it's because they went away from all the good plays that worked for them the year before. Yes I understand teams watch film but in those first three games of that season white was wide open all the time and Brady never threw them. Then we got rid of Amendola which totally pissed me off because he was. I felt like the next Julian. We had welker, then. Julian, and then amendola was the next. Once gronk retired and Julian retired, that was it. Then belichick seemed to not care about drafting, receivers or bringing in good quality free agent wide receivers. Yes, we had the Randy Moss era but he seem to give up on receivers. He still seems to have no interest in bringing in the best. We have Mac Jones as our quarterback now and I don't care if he was a rookie or a third year starter, if he had quality receivers around him then the Patriots would still be making the playoffs regularly. For two straight years, I think Jacoby Myers was the best receiver on the team and one year I think he only had one touchdown. This year, our defense is incredible and Mac Jones looks great. We could be 3-0 except for one play in each of the first two games that if it didn't happen or went the other way. We would be undefeated. I think this year we're a team to be reckoned with.

1:23:44 I’m glad Julian pointed out that they didn’t rate the stakes of “18-1” a 10. It really should be. Not only was it the Super Bowl but it was potentially capping off the greatest season in the history of the sport. The stakes couldn’t be higher than that.

I vividly remember working valet a hotel and all my co workers were saying it’s over by half and I remember saying word for word: “Hey everybody, don’t count the Pats out of this yet”. I wanted the Hawks to win so bad but man I definitely had so much respect for Brady after that game. That game single handedly gave him goat status in my book and like I said I’m Pats hater, or at least I used to be until that game

It’s not that Massachusetts and Boston felt entitled. It’s that the team represented the area. Boston and NE are gritty hard working ppl and the pats took on that identity. Just like Buffalo and Pittsburgh. And other blue collar cities
