Hello sir.. this is the first video I'm seeing from you and I'm impressed. Seems like you're truly in it for sharing knowledge. That's all it took for me to subscribe. Looking forward to seeing and learning more from you.
My rig uses a dewalt 4GPM with adjustable pressure. It allows for psi as low as needed for softwashing yet it goes all the way up to 4400psi. Really cool feature. For that reason I’ve been xjetting for a year or so. A $230 investment for a 60k return. I am happy. Shoots about 30 feet before misting gets severe, so I’m looking to pic up one of your modified versions soon.
Wow. Awesome content! I am in the stages of getting a business going. I really want to learn and get a proper base understanding before I start charging normal prices or maybe charging period. Thanks for this info for people like me starting.
I have to comment on the x jet. Using this without a proportioner tip (barb only) will pull a 50/50 mix from your batch tank. A 5 gallon bucket full of 12.5% SH and your surfactant will provide a 6.25% mix without the plastic tip. A 5 gallon bucket with 2 1/2 gallons of 12.5 SH and 2 1/2 gallons of water will provide a 6.25 mix in the bucket, and using the x jet without a tip will get you a 3.125% mix coming out of the x jet at this rate. I mix batches in a 30 gallon barrel that I leave on my trailer and run a 180 ft by 3/8 hose from it and it works great! I've been using this method for a few years now and I've cleaned everything I can think of, including asphalt shingles. Using the method to create a 6.25% mix will clean a roof great! Only issue with using the x jet is that it creates a lot of over -spray, but the more you use it, the better you get.
Using an jet on a roof can also cause the shingles to fly up due to the amount of pressure, unless you use a modified x jet. This is one of the reasons I'm not a fan of x jets for roof cleaning. That and the mist as you stated. You'll also use lot more bleach
Hey Jason.. Thanks for the insight and your replay. I'm just trying to double check here though because this is different than what Doug Rucker says... I'm not saying you're wrong but one of these is correct and the other isn't. He says 50% or 6.25 in the bucket is going to hit the house at 6.25/50%.... I don't see how that can be the case but can you confirm here? Thanks for your info again!
@@mattmayo937 the x jet comes with tiny proportioner tips which allows you to apply different chemicals at different ratios. Using the x jet without a tip, (barb only) produces a 2 to 1 ratio, or 50%. Whatever your mix is in the bucket, cut it in half when using it this way.
@@jasongroff7692 what about reducing to half throttle, doesn’t that increase the chemical amount? Because you are now pulling about half the amount of water?
You sir are a champion, thank you for all the videos. Just bought a 4GPM hotsy, going to be doing both heavy equipment and soft washing with same unit.,
Downstreaming is just so much more straight forward and works for 90% of washing. But I’m really glad you’ve made the modded xjet gun with it I’ve been able to get 5-10 feet more distance (maybe even more in some cases) using a shooter tip and much more accurate stream for really hard to reach dirty areas (just recently did some pigeon droppings that were 35 feet high on the eves of this home). Xjet is also great for people like me who don’t have a softwash set up yet… cause we are able to post and pretreat concrete and do roof washes (I throttle down and get on the roof spraying downward as to not damage shingles… and adjust the spray pattern to a gentle fan). Thanks for all the helpful videos Doug. I wonder if someone could use the xjet body and turn it into a “downstream injector” that has a super high draw..
I am an X-Jet pro! Been pressure cleaning since 1991. I only use the XjetM5 now since 2017. I use an aluminum hand truck with a 55 gallon SH tank strapped and 100’ of siphon hose. I use a reducer with a mosmatic swivel on my DN-10 that leads to a jrod and Davis shooter tip. I rarely need a gun and lance anymore. The Xjet allows me to cover large areas quickly and with the % that melts organic matter. I have an enclosed trailer and I know my system is more labor intensive but my results are explosive. We also have a system by AC Lockyer that we use for soft washing but my XJet tackles the job way faster, more efficient and effective. Plus all my equipment last forever…. hoses etc. Thank you for all you do and I will hopefully see you again at the conventions!!
Sounds like you might be the most experienced so far on XJET.... Can you answer this for me? If I use none of the colored proportioners and I make a 50/50 mix of SH/water which makes it land at 6.25% in the bucket.... When I shoot it with xjet, what % is hitting the house? 6.25% or 3.125%?? Thanks in advance for your help!
@@mattmayo937 Hi Matt, if you are using 12.5% SH then a 50/50 mix is our standard Housewash mix and it’s a little over 2%. 70/30 will be around a 3% mix and straight will give you a decent 4+% mix for roofs. I use long siphon hoses 30’ , 50’ & 100’ ; as you begin to raise the hose up a ladder suction begins to struggle, depending on how high up and at what angle you’ve placed your chemical tank. I use a 55 gallon vertical tank attached to an aluminum hand truck. I only fill about 30 gallons because of the weight. It helps to reduce splash when transporting around the property. Soft wash systems are great because you can get a much higher % at a lower volume, hence making less mess around bushes and plants, grass etc. with that being said you must keep vegetation wet always because the risk is also greater. The XjetM5 allows you to lay chems much faster and with much more pressure, allowing for greater heights. It is possible to attain that 4% hot mix as well but to get anything greater you’d need to use a pump-up or a soft-wash system. I find the Xjet tackles all jobs effectively and efficiently. Determining % of mix; there are so many factors that come into play, how long has the Chlorine been exposed to sunlight, what source did the chlorine come from, how has the chlorine been stored, how old is the chlorine, has the orifice in the Xjet gotten larger with use… it is not an exact science when taking these things into consideration. You can use the average method I gave you above to better help you batch your chems. It then will become trial and error and you’ll learn what works fir you in the climate you’re in and the amount of organic matter present on the surface you are cleaning. Thanks for your question and I hope this helps!
@@t-n-tpressurecleaning7781 Won't using a longer hose lower the concentration as it has more resistance to pull the chem or bleach. I was hoping with the short hose and bring the bleach up the ladder to get closer to 50%? I know more labor intensive but hoping it will get me by until I get a soft wash system. I have also found putting a little jomax makes the bleach kick and be strong for a short period of time, and stuff doesn't grow back as quick, that was back in the day when I did pressure washing.
@@jerwgar I suggest using a 12v for roof cleaning and eventually getting a gas powered soft wash system. Carrying SH up a ladder and surfactant too gets old really quickly and can be dangerous depending on the severity of the pitch. It can be done and yes a shorter hose has a faster draw but holding onto a chemical pail is also very dangerous up on a roof. I bought a 12 volt 4.0 gpm bleach pump from northern tool (northstar system) just to make life easier and get a 5%-6% mix to really clean the roof with no pressure. I am building a trailer with the AR-45 gas powered system now. Xjetting roofs can be done but it’s not ideal. I still use it for everything else. Hope this helps and please be careful if you decide to go at it old school style.
I prefer the xjet M5 , especially when working solo in the Texas heat. It allows me to switch back and forth between chem and rinse on the spot without a lot of running back and forth. That way I water plants, shoot chem, then go right back to watering or quickly rinsing.
I prefer downstreaming because I get more distance and it’ll take care of most situations; I use my Softwash (P36) when cleaning roofs or heavily mildewed tall walls/brick; I’ll pull out the X-jet on smaller and sometimes harder to get to areas that are really dark where downstreaming will take forever to clean.
I see a lot of guys say they dont use proportioners with the xjet. My question is, whats the technical difference between an xjet and a downstream injector. Like internally what is different? Im wondering why you cant just put a downstream injector at the end of your gun and use an adjustable tip to get close to the same results at less than a quarter of the cost of the xjet.
You can do that but it will not be the same results as x Jet as far as strength. Difference is X-Jet does not operate off a venturi like an injector does. Injector requires pressure difference to draw the chemical. X jet uses the high pressure at the wand
Hi Doug. Just received my X jet last week, & tried it the other day .....waaay too much pressure. Have been d/s for years now, but thought I'd give it ago. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Secondary hose will probably turn out to be a pain, but then again, all my work is flat commercial, so, big open areas. Time will tell, no doubt.
It is starting to bother me how few people know how to use ratios. You must add all parts of the ratio together to get a correct answer. To know your dilution for the xjet, divide sh% by the total parts. Ex. You have a 2/1 ration. 10%sh÷3= 3.33% concentration coming from the gun.
Can you use the downstream part just past the handle like you showed in the modified x-jet? The main reason is bc I don’t want to go back to PW to remove the downstream hose. I know I can change tips on wand, but it still seems to still pull soap from the downstream even when we put it to higher Pressure tip. I’ll have to watch closer to see if non-black tips are still pulling from downstream
Are you meaning move the downstream injector closer to the or at the gun? You could but won't make much difference in pulling. If the higher pressure tip is pulling soap the tip. Sounds like the orifice is to large. Could be the hole as gotten larger over time from water pressure or wasn't milled correctly from the manufacturer.
When using the X-Jet and a bucket to apply chemicals, how do you know how much chemical it will draw per minute to mix with the water from the high-pressure washer? How do you determine if you are spraying at a 3% or 5% concentration of the solution?
There is an instruction manual that will come with it, and is also on our web site that will have ratios on it. Hopefully soon we will also have a calculator that can be used.
Appreciate the video, really helped inform me on some things. I downstream and haven’t used my x jet yet. Most houses I do are vinyl. I like it a lot. But anyways great video and much respect to ya.
It basically allows you to remove the ball in Spring inside of the Injector and can cause you to draw a stronger mix. Will also help your injector to last longer
Bought XJet a long time ago. Got longer hose and a cart for SH drum. Used it 2 times only. Too much spray from X5 nozzle and sucks on windy days. I really need to take time to modify it. Right now I downstream and use backpack sprayer for bad areas. But on houses where entire walls and sides are bad, I have to downstream those areas 2-3 times to get it clean, eating up more time and wasting SH diluting it through 200 ft hose. Guess I will get off my ass and modify the XJet today!!!
It is a love hate relationship w x jet. Be careful using a backpack sprayer the bleach will eat the seals out and could leak down your back. I’ve seen many injuries caused by this.
Foam Cannon would be lower pressure, but I would not use a foam cannon fro a roof or house wash except to make a nice looking presentation of soap. Wont really do anything for the cleaning
Love the video, I have my first roof wash next Tuesday. If I buy that bypass could I do a roof wash with it. You said in the video I would get a bigger draw of mix . Please let me know
Gary Hagler If you’re talking about the check valve adapter for the downstream injector know it’s still is not gonna be strong enough for cleaning a roof
Good video....can you make a video showing how to use a down stream injector on an electric pressure washer..what brand of injector..and ALL parts needed to use a water broom??????????? THANK YOU
If you're downstreaming, after you put the chemicals on the surface, that 3way barb you showed cuts out the extra step of having a bucket of water to put the siphon hose in to rinse out the injectors, correct?
Great explanation! What method would you recommend for a business that only cleans wood fences and would be using a chemical to clean and a chemical to brighten? Thanks!
Doug great video. Is the x jet just a down stream injector at the end of the wand? They look the same to me. Only difference is down stream is at the pump x jet is after the gun. Could you just take a down stream injector and stick it at the end of the gun? Or is the x jet a different size or somthing?
@@PressureCleaningSch Good video, So like Jeff said the downstream at the end of the gun becomes an extra? How does that make the mix stronger when it comes out? What is the difference
Hi Doug Why we don't use the x-jet like we use the downstream injectors? I mean why we don't put the x jet in the end of the pump ( like we do with the downstream injectors) and in that way we won't have to carry around the bucket plus the hose of the x jet, and we can adjust the amount it chemical with the right nozzle in our guns? Or we can sat down the chemical through a remote control? Just a thought and a question as well
Appreciate the video Sir! Hope your business is going well and getting better! I'm just getting started getting my equipment list/budget/knowledge together over the winter in preparation to start (just on the side part-time) this Spring. Super excited but also nervous and feel like I don't know what I'm doing because it's a lot to remember, but I know I'll be successful if I keep at it and market my brand aggressively. I already have a logo and and working on getting a shirt or two made so I can compete with the pros in my area. Wish me luck and let me know if you have any advice you could give me (I could probably use it!!)
Get the basic fundamentals down and practice on your home, friends and family homes before taking in customers. My online school will help drastically cut your learning curve. Wish you Best of luck.
I got an xjet but keep thinking it’s better to return it (it’s in the mail from Amazon) and make a diy softwash 12v system instead. What do y’all suggest? To do houses and roofs
I have a question..doesn't downstreaming or using a pressure washer for vinyl siding have too much overspray mist because of the power? I am thinking of using a 12 volt soft wash set up to apply the sh..and to rinse with a pressure washer.
New to washing. I thought more suds were good because they help the mix to stay on the mold and algae longer, thereby doing better at removing them. No?
"Suds" don't do anything for the cleaning. The surfactant helps to keep the surface wetter longer thereby allowing the bleach to change the color of the stains quicker. The bleach doesn't remove the stains it just changes the color of them. While more surfactant may cause the mix to "stick" the tradeoff is it takes longer to get that color change and also will "stick" to anything else better like plants and causes longer rinse time if you are going to rinse the surface. Proper spray technique, not flooding the surface, is the best way.
You can always use the inserts if you want. Just follow the chart provided with your x jet if thats what you prefer. Much easier and I recommend to dilute according to your needs in the bucket to save time instead of having to change the inserts out based on each individual job needs. On the last page of the instructions that come w your x jet read in full the "recipe for House Washing" for more info and tips.
@@PressureCleaningSch Hey Doug! Love your videos as I am subscriber who has learned a lot from you. Like Island Raw above, with the XJet I thought you put 100% SH in the pail and let the proportioners get you the desired percent. Currently, I only clean flatwork (sidewalks/driveways etc) with 12.5% and need approx 3-4% on the surface. But I'd much rather use your method of mixing 1/3 SH and 2/3 water in the pail....but how does it not dilute the SH strength with all of the extra water coming in from the hose/house? (I completely get it if I'm using a dedicated pump up sprayer but don't get the concept with the extra water). Are we saying that at 12.5%, a 50/50 ratio in the pail would get me around 5-6% on the surface? I thought I had it figured out but now I am confused. Any clarification is much appreciated! Thank you.
@@63bigjack When mixing in my bucket for x jet. First i do not use the inserts, and I always mix in the bucket how I want it to come out. So if I want a 50/50 mix, I put 1/2 bleach in the bucket and 1/2 water., no inserts. What comes out will not be an exact 50/50 but will be fairly close. I’m not trying to get an exact %. I’m just trying to get it strong enough to change the color of the organic stains. If your want a more exact % then your are correct in using the inserts. Hope that helps.
I've used x-jet for industrial food service cleaning. It's a bit easier to work with. We used 3 gallon plastic j-cans. I can see a similar benefit when doing remote location work such as back garden walkways or multiple water based treatments. wash, wax, bleach, algecide, soap...., heck even some sort of quat or scent... It's a bit more swiss army knife than bowie knife. IMHO
I prefer XJET. I like it better because i mix up jugs different chemicals for degreaser for flat work or SH mix for house wash and i can adjust more often than when i batch mixed my 50gallon tanks for 12v pump. I use modified XJET and i can shoot higher on houses on slightly windy days too. I do have a 2nd guy to help move my hoses and xjet pail buckets so that helps. I added hose to my XJET system to get me 40ft or so. I also like that no SH goes through my high pressure hose EVER. XJET also takes any mechanical failure out of the equation vs 12v PUMP. So i prefer XJET mainly.
I cant find that downstream by pass injector? Were did you get yours?I use the downstream injector for softwashing and just use my washer to do it all(rather then a dedicated chemical pump)It does great and unlike the x jet your soap sits stationary while working
Quick question, tried to see if it has alrwady been asked but didnt see it in the comments. If I use a 8gpm machine and I use the Xjet with the hose in 12.5% SH, with no proportioners being used, what is the mix ratio that I will apply? Thank you.
In this link is the x-jet instruction manual. Scroll down in the description part and you’ll see it. From there you see the ratios based on the GPM of your machine. And also if any inserts are used. www.dougruckerstore.com/products/x-jet-m5-long-range-external-chemical-injection-nozzle/
Amazing video trying to catch us well, I new to pressure Washing. Can you please help me understand. Is okay to run my 12% Bleach thru the pressure washing downstreaming?
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks for reply, I get that that with the xjet but with down streaming do you put say 12.5 sh in a bucket and draw it straight from or do you still have to mix like the xjet.
You can x jet a house, but I don't recommend for a roof. I recommend and use the Kings Kling surfactant. www.dougruckerstore.com/products/kings-kling-roof-and-house-surfactant/
Question for you, I have an AR RSV4g40 pump, the chemical injector is built right into the manifold, when it comes time to change it do I just order a new injector and rob nipple and it’s internals off it?
I didn't understand WHY/HOW XJet can get a higher mix ratio compared to Downstreaming. The only difference that I see was: In Downstraming the SH bucket with the siphon is located next to the pump and with the XJet the SH bucket with the siphon is located next to the gun. Ok. But WHY/HOW XJet can get a higher mix? They're looking the same to me but just with a different location. I'm missing something. If someone can explain it to me I will be grateful. Thanks in advance.
Because just like a DS injector the closer your injector is to the pump, the stronger your mix will be, as its not getting diluted with the water coming down the hose.
@@PressureCleaningSch Oooh ok, tell me if I understand. So the LENGTH of the hose in the downstreaming method will make the SH dilute much more than XJet, which has a shorter way to go (next to the gun) resulting in a higher concentration. I was thinking they would both dilute in the same way but that's not true. I was forgetting the hose impact. Thank you for enlightening me!
Maybe just because you can get a hotter mix? So less water to apply the same amount of chem? My xjet says it maxes out at 3:1, and my downstream says 10:1. That's my best guess on that one, as the gpm of the actual machine wont be affected very much either way.
Can I use this without a pump? I don’t have a soft wash system. I’ve heard I can get a stronger sh with this plus it seems nicer to apply chemical with this rather than the normal black tip. Thank you.
With a downstream process would that cause my equipment-hoses,gun/wand to wear out faster since I’m running SH through them?Compared to an X-jet that only has SH running through the tip?
@@melodymashup I’ve been down-streaming this whole time (except for roof washes) and as long as everything gets rinsed properly damage from SH is minimal except for the quick connects, those seem to corrode no matter what
Hey Doug. I right I have a 2500psi 2.3 gpm machine. I have a 2.5 story vinyl house and want to be able to apply the solution without using a ladder. I also have an extension pole but I rather try to avoid that. What would you recommend xjet or downstream? And which tip if downstream ? Thank you
Not sure either will reach 2.5 stories w a 2.3 GPM machine. But I’d probably try x jet since it will have a little more pressure. But can’t guarantee you’ll get that get high with that low a GPM machine.
Hey doug i want some info on that check valvue injector the one w no ball and spring on it. Im in the groups on fb maybe post something ive not seen those and looking for a new go to
I keep the x jet just for dirty stucco chimney. Just ordered a bypass and 3 way plastic ball valve. How long do you rinse the injector before you use the bypass and if you use the bypass, is any water going through the injector? Thank you.
If you leave the bypass on so it always runs bleach, when you use the 3 way then every time you switch the 3 way to water you are rinsing the injector at the same time.
I'm in my first year so far, I like downstreaming. Its economical, versatile and I think it looks a more professional when it matters. Xjet M5 looks fun, like toy. I know Xjet has its purposes ( i.e. stucco) and I'd add it to my arsenal for those rare cases.
Thanks Doug, We don't have xjet's in South Africa. Thinking of using a foam bottle used in car washes and connecting the hose to a bucket as the foam bottle work similarly to an xjet
Thanks for showing this I’m trying to get my 14yo son prepared so he’s not using a brush all the time but I have a question the pressure washer I’m using has a soap box can that be used as a downstream or do I need to get a attachment
I’ve been using the XJet for the last 7 years. I fill the 5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of water and 1 gallon of 12.5 SH. I have a 75ft 3/8 hose running from the bucket to my M5 nozzle. With the XJet you never need to use a ladder. I find that’s what works for me. It’s simple and gets the job done. With down streaming,I don’t know how you can reach peaks and 2nd story without using a ladder. Maybe someone can explain that to me.
I wish I could get a straight answer on what the ratio is coming from the gun with an xjet. I've seen everything from close to full stretch 50/50 to 3:1, etc. I guess I need to just buy one and do a draw test. Haven't seen a single draw test on xjet on RUclips lol
I’m just now starting out so all I have is an X-Jet. Getting ready to setup a full trailer setup with commercial grade equipment. Do you guys carry pressure washers in-store or do they need to be ordered?
Awesome video sir. Quick question we have a soft wash system especially for washing roofs. What would you say about down stream or x jet for that process? I’m possibly considering either one to connect to my washer since it would be more efficient to just load up one machine instead of the two that we been using. Appreciate your time for the answer and look forward to more videos.
Downstream your mix will not get strong enough to clean a roof. X jet would be a PITA and take way longer, not to mention lugging a bucket or tank or drum around. Much better off doing it the way you are doing it.
Doug Rucker thanks appreciate the insight. We’re doing good so far with the system we have. Just may need to upgrade to a bigger tank and longer hose. But we’ve made our money back and some in like 3 weeks so I can’t complain. Thanks for the help.
I have been trying to downstream and it hasn't been working for me. I used one brads and three stainless steel from General Pump. No clue why it won't work. I flush them after every use with a three way valve like you show, but they keep getting this sodium (I presume its sodium) buildup in them and it just shuts off. Do you have any ideas?
Whats not saod is the X Jet is the absolutely perfect tool for rinsing without the indicator hose sucking...for my I X Jet everything roofs and house when I'm doing so I turn my 4gpm machine at half throttle helps reduce the psi pressure and I have an X jet M 5 which has an adjustable twist tip so I can get the perfect fan needed.WHEN I RINSE I USE THE X jet at full throttle
Yes many different ways to use an x jet....we modify ours so it's more like downstreaming....but if we use the x jet twice a year thats a lot. Just not one of the tools we need to use to often
I got a question. The videos keep saying to mix your bucket to what you want to come out of the gun but by the math im seeing i have to batch mix an 8% mix to get it to come out at 3% using a 4gpm as the #13 x jet is a 1.6 to 1 ratio. Am I doing something wrong?
Hey Doug, I know this video is old, but I’ve been catching up on my research for my x jet. What would I need to mix in a 5 gallon bucket to get a 3% mix? I’m using 12.5 SH.
So you need the bucket to have 30% SH....so 30% of 5 would be 1.5. So 1.5 gallons of SH then rest water should get you there. Adjust as needed for the surface and degree of staining you'd need.
Hello sir.. this is the first video I'm seeing from you and I'm impressed. Seems like you're truly in it for sharing knowledge. That's all it took for me to subscribe. Looking forward to seeing and learning more from you.
Thank you.
Great insight Jason. Thanks for the info.

The x-jet doesn't work off a venturi effect like DS injector so it wouldn't work.
Im an idiot. I thought i was commenting on a different video
I wanna know when you're downstreaming with SH10. What's the percentage when it comes out of the nozzle?
probably a little over 1%, but you'd need to do a bucket test to get your % since all machines are different.
Hi Doug,
THANK YOU! for explaining the difference between x-jet and down stream. It going to help me out a lot.
Michael C your very welcome. Glad it helped

Thanks. Welcome to the Channel
I’m new to This Business only a month in. Could you send me the links to the stuff your talking about?
I prefer the xjet M5 , especially when working solo in the Texas heat. It allows me to switch back and forth between chem and rinse on the spot without a lot of running back and forth. That way I water plants, shoot chem, then go right back to watering or quickly rinsing.
We put the shut off valve on the modified too. Great point that you can rinse quicker and hit plants faster.
ImC00LyourNOT I do not recommend using x jet to clean a roof. To much pressure and you’ll way too much mix.
WOW sush a great and simple way to explain streaming I just got subscribed thank you
Thank you. Appreciate it.
I'm wondering the same thing. Why not? Coz they're expensive and hard to get them. Have you tried?

It basically allows you to remove the ball in Spring inside of the Injector and can cause you to draw a stronger mix. Will also help your injector to last longer
@@PressureCleaningSchHow much stronger are we talking about ? 2-3% ?
@@sergiodominguez1627 could be depending on the GPM of your machine and strength of your bleach.

In our country we dont have the 10%or 12.5%SH only 5% or 7.5%. So is xjeting probably preferable?
@@TamaLoa-h7c preferable to downstreaming? I would think so if your wanting a stronger mix than downstreaming will provide.

Foam Cannon would be lower pressure, but I would not use a foam cannon fro a roof or house wash except to make a nice looking presentation of soap. Wont really do anything for the cleaning
Another awesome video. I down stream easy. But I may buy one of those remote downstreamers.
They are awesome. Went so many years without one now I cant go work without it. Lol
No. It will not get it strong enough. You need a dedicated pump system.
Good video....can you make a video showing how to use a down stream injector on an electric pressure washer..what brand of injector..and ALL parts needed to use a water broom??????????? THANK YOU
Sorry I don’t own an electric pressure and I doubt you can downstream w one. I also do not own a water broom
Thank you........
If you're downstreaming, after you put the chemicals on the surface, that 3way barb you showed cuts out the extra step of having a bucket of water to put the siphon hose in to rinse out the injectors, correct?
Correct...plumb one to bleach and the other to water, and just switch the valve between tile two when needed.
Great explanation! What method would you recommend for a business that only cleans wood fences and would be using a chemical to clean and a chemical to brighten? Thanks!
On our web site the wood cleaner and the tannin brightener is what I use for cleaning fences and decks.
Thanks! Do you think the xjet m5 is suitable/appropriate for fence cleanings?
Doug great video. Is the x jet just a down stream injector at the end of the wand? They look the same to me. Only difference is down stream is at the pump x jet is after the gun. Could you just take a down stream injector and stick it at the end of the gun? Or is the x jet a different size or somthing?
Jeff Goldbloom yes that is correct
@@PressureCleaningSch Good video, So like Jeff said the downstream at the end of the gun becomes an extra? How does that make the mix stronger when it comes out? What is the difference
@@josephbailey7408 its being diluted with less water since it's not going through all the hose
Hi Doug
Why we don't use the x-jet like we use the downstream injectors?
I mean why we don't put the x jet in the end of the pump ( like we do with the downstream injectors) and in that way we won't have to carry around the bucket plus the hose of the x jet, and we can adjust the amount it chemical with the right nozzle in our guns? Or we can sat down the chemical through a remote control?
Just a thought and a question as well
Mainly because it’s not designed to lower the psi of the machine to draw the chemical like a DS injector.
I prefer the jrob/downstream injector as well Doug. Thank you

I have a question..doesn't downstreaming or using a pressure washer for vinyl siding have too much overspray mist because of the power? I am thinking of using a 12 volt soft wash set up to apply the sh..and to rinse with a pressure washer.
The most would all depend on the nozzle you using
I need that x jet bucket
We have them in stock. Just got more in today
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks so much for explaining this
@@Gottifire Very welcome
I thought you added neat SH and the Xjet inserts dilute it for you?
You can always use the inserts if you want. Just follow the chart provided with your x jet if thats what you prefer. On the last page of the instructions that come w your x jet read in full the "recipe for House Washing" for more info and tips.
@@PressureCleaningSch hi Doug to be honest mate. I preffer a 12v fatboy pump and batch mix
Awesome. Sounds like you got a great set up and process.

Question for you, I have an AR RSV4g40 pump, the chemical injector is built right into the manifold, when it comes time to change it do I just order a new injector and rob nipple and it’s internals off it?
Not completely familiar w that pump but you may be able to plug it and add a DS injector. I'd check with you who bought it from first though.
Can you perform soft wash with a high pressure hose? Using the jrod and downstream ing?
Yes. That’s the original tried and true soft washing. Can’t clean a roof though by downstreaming.
How does the X-Jet pull less water than downstreaming? From a newbie perspective, you'd think they'd both pull the same rate?
Maybe just because you can get a hotter mix? So less water to apply the same amount of chem? My xjet says it maxes out at 3:1, and my downstream says 10:1. That's my best guess on that one, as the gpm of the actual machine wont be affected very much either way.

Why shouldn’t we use the XJet proportioners?
For house washing w bleach they aren’t needed.
I think Jeremy is talking about adjusting the trotter
I have been trying to downstream and it hasn't been working for me. I used one brads and three stainless steel from General Pump. No clue why it won't work. I flush them after every use with a three way valve like you show, but they keep getting this sodium (I presume its sodium) buildup in them and it just shuts off. Do you have any ideas?
All I use are the brass and they last a good while. If your rinsing after each use I dint know why it’s not working. What soap do you use.
Southeast Softwash. I know other folks who use it without any issues.
They'll both make good money
Best comment. Your exactly right
I have a 80:20 downstreamer whats the highest percent i can get?
Not really sure lotta factors play into figuring out the percentage with a downstream injector
@@PressureCleaningSch such as?
I cant get my downstream to not be misty and messy. Must be better way
Yeah downstream should not be like that.
@@PressureCleaningSch doug what would you use to clean a stained deck? Percarbonate?
@@Timsautosolutions can use that, or wood cleaner, or even a light bleach solution.
@@PressureCleaningSch yeah I really just started out and wanted something versatile will more than likely get a soft wash system down the road.
@@PressureCleaningSch awesome, thank you for all the information!
Hey Doug I’m just getting started what’s the best way to do a roof if you don’t have a dedicated softwash pump? Should I just use an x jet?
Find your answer yet? I'm learning and would like to know as well
