Watch Love of my Life ( live version Wembley 86) it will blow your mind how Freddie could hold an audience in the palm of his hand 😊. I saw Queen live twice when Freddie was still alive and no band I've ever seen before or since could come anywhere close to them ( and I've seen plenty ) 😊
"How can you not like Queen?" Very well said. For a true gut punch of a song, if you haven't already, give "The Show Must Go On" a listen. Freddie was very ill and dying when it was recorded but his voice was still all Freddie and he gave 100%.
I saw them live for the first time for the Night at The Opera tour (the first concert I ever attended) and 5 more times. My favorite band of all time. You mentioned no auto-tune. They used no synthesizers!
Brian May( guy with the hair ), wrote this song as part of the soundtrack for the movie Highlander. You would enjoy the studio version. It has a full orchestra and a choir. Another great song from Highlander is, One Year of Love. Freddie sings the blues. With over 200 songs in their catalog, you have a long way to go.
I only learned recently that all the live versions we have had overdubs so it's not actually what it sounded like if you were there. About halfway through you can hear it's more than four voices singing who wants to live forever.
React to "Somebody to love " live at Montreal 1981, or live at Milton Keynes 1982. "Save me "live at Montreal 1981, "Under pressure ", "Another one bites the dust ", live at wembley 1986, "Queens performance at "Live aid" 1985., it's 20 minutes long
WELCOME to the QUEEN rabbit hole...a journey that will take you on a Rollercoaster of emotions...recommendations: WHITE QUEEN live at Hammersmith 1975, SOMEBODY TO LOVE live at Montreal, ONE VISION live at Wembley...just the beginning....
All four of our boys are college graduates . Sir Brian is a Astrophysicist, Roger Dentist, Biology, Deaky , Electrical engineer, Freddie , Ggraphics designer
I don’t know if past tense applies, he’s still incredible. Anyone I share his songs with, who’s been clearly been living under a rock, feels like they are right there with him. He’s singing just for them. His audience is growing by the minute, I consider him a true time traveller. He’s epic and eternal, nobody can ever come close.
Keep going. Queen is fantastic. Freddie was the greatest singer and all four members were professional musicians that took their jobs seriously. ❤thanks btw try Hyde Park 1975 You take my breath away.
The song is about a guy who is immortal and is in love with an ordinary woman and he stays with her until she dies of old age... the movie Highlander makes me cry at this point every time.... Go watch the Live at Wembley Stadium concert - the atmosphere is amazing and the talent is crazy. You will than understand why we love them so much and why they have been a driving force in music since 1975.
The whole band is awesome! Freddie takes vocals to another level though & each of the bandmates do too. Freddie's natural charisma comes through even in videos, you feel Mercury power.
Live TV concert from 1974 @the Rainbow: Liar, Seven Seas of Rhye, and Stone Cold Crazy are all full energy heavy rock performances well worth watching. Also Somebody to Love at Milton Keynes 1982, Dragon Attack 1981 Montreal, You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park, just Freddie and his piano introducing his very emotional and touching song. I love your appreciation and enthusiasm for the talents of these truly amazing artists. Thank you for Northern Great review
How about going all the way back to 1975 when Queen was just starting out? One of Queens best performances IMO was "White Queen " Odeon Hammersmith 1975 Live, you will not be disappointed one bit, promise! I'm looking forward to more Queen reactions! 👏👑❤
This song is an example of something important to know about Queen as you’re starting this journey. You already know how incredible Queen is live. You won’t be disappointed with any live concert vid-most rock bands have a clinker or two live vid but not Queen. There are also many, many exceptional Queen songs that they never or rarely performed live so you’ll obviously be listening to studio recordings. Queen didn’t not play certain songs live because they considered those songs inferior, but rather because it wasn’t possible to recreate those songs live and do them justice-primarily the missing piece would be the layering and layering of (non auto tuned) vocals. Then there’s a third category of Queen songs that the live performance was done significantly different from the studio version, both great in their unique way. IMO, “Who Wants to Live Forever” falls in this third category. The live version you just watched is truly lovely stripped down and, more than any other performance, I get this overwhelming feeling of Freddie being just fearless-him and the crowd feels enormous AND also intimate. The studio version has a choir, Brian opens the vocals, and Freddie feels like the virtuoso he is. Beautifully candlelit video. Enjoy!
Queen is on tour this year. Adsm Lambert is the lead singer of Queen now. But yes, Freddie was an incredible performer. Now, remember, at the time of this song, the day cancer(ie AIDS) was feared. He knew he had AIDS and it was a death sentence at this point in history. So Freddie singing this song, Who Wants to Live Forever, takes on a special meaning. I agree with you many of the great singers are being lost to the younger generation. Auto tune was something we did not have. But if you want a real auto tune-check out Milli Vanilli. Lol. If you don’t know who I say that, google their story.
Queen fan here : I absolutely loved your reaction! Agree with everything that you said👍🏻So happy that you got to know them and loved the song. Probably one of the best live performances of it. So powerful fits Freddie's voice perfectly. Best wishes from France
This is my favorite Queen song. Relax brother. I've been listening to Queen for about 45 years, seen them twice live, and I'm still learning new things about the..
"You don't really see giants like that anymore." You got that right! I have seen Queen with Adam Lambert and am seeing them again in October. Adam does a great job delivering Queen's music. There will never be an entertainer like Freddie Mercury.
Freddy had a one of a kind voice. The fact that he sounds that good in a live performance is a testament to that. Two songs of theirs I would recommend are Don't stop me now, and These are the days of our lives.
Here are just a few suggestions for you to check out, "I Want It All", "In My Defense", "Time", "Spread Your Wings" "Under Pressure", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Somebody to love" (both the studio version and then for sure the live version!). Queen has so many great songs, you really can't go wrong! Great reaction!
Thanks - Brian May on the organ is unusual.. (but he wrote the song) and the change to guitar.. is awesome.. of course, Fred's vocals are unparalleled.. Appreciate your reaction.. look forward to more from you.. (also, don't forget Roger on drums & high vocal.. and Deacon on that solid bass)...
Try One Year of Love (by John Deacon), It’s AKind of Magic (by Roger Taylor) and Princes of the Universe (by Freddie Mercury) all the other songs written by each member for The Highlander movie. Such talent!
This song which was from the movie Highlander that year in 1986. The live versions are so different from the studio version with this one being the best live version. The immortal asking who wants to live forever if love must die? Imagine living on and on but seeing everyone you love die again and again endlessly. Who would want to live forever? I recommend listening to the studio version as a comparison.
Hungary (Behind the Iron Curtain) in 1986 was Huge! Two years later saw the beginning of the collapse of the Soviet Union. Not saying related but Queen Music had a lot of influence.
Yes the rest of the band are still alive John retired in 1997 Roger Taylor the drummer & Sir Dr Brian May lead guitar are still going as Queen & Adam Lambert they are doing concerts later on in the year in North America Roger is 73 & Brian is 75 they can still rock 🤘🤘❤️❤️
Go on with Queen and you will get a lot of subscribers but do your Home work - they are one - THE most influential rock grups - ever - but very versatile they could do Amy genres- from hard rock to opera. And listen to the group not only to Freddie - they all wrote # 1 hits !! And all are masters on their instruments and they are all multi instrumentalists and smart - all of Them have college degrees - even a doctorate!
this version, Budapest 1986, is the best for that song. I just "discovered" them/him this year too, though I was old enough to have known Queen when I was young, and I am utterly OVERCOME by Freddie's voice. I got chills listening to this video again. It is especially painful knowing he likely knew he was sick by 1986, and knew for certain he'd be dying, in 1987. Your reaction is great. Try reviewing something really different: Freddie singing with a famous opera star, Montserrat Caballe: "How Can I go On? "
"Who Wants To Live Forever" was composed by Brian May (Queen Lead Gutist) and sung on the album version as a duet between himself and Freddie Mercury. For the live performances of the song, Freddie sang it all. The song is part of the movie score written and performed by Queen for the 1986 movie "Highlander" which is a fantasy action-adventure film that stars Christopher Lambert, Roxanne Hart, Clancy Brown, and Sean Connery. The film chronicles the climax of an age-old war between immortal warriors, depicted through interwoven past and present-day storylines. Other songs from the Highlander movie score worth watching are: "It's A Kind Of Magic" - ruclips.net/video/c2_xWTSyCuU/видео.html "One Year of Love" - ruclips.net/video/Cgib8QoBKHE/видео.html "Princes of the Universe" which clips of the Highlander movie are intermixed with Queen's performance - ruclips.net/video/VEJ8lpCQbyw/видео.html
To see Brian May’s vocal range, please react to his video of too much love will kill you and for Freddie’s range exercises in free love. You won’t be disappointed! ❤❤
As other commentators have said .. Queen guitarist Brian May wrote this for the Highlander movie soundtrack! All members of Queen wrote a song for the soundtrack so each one would be a fabulous reaction! PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE (Freddie) GIMME THE PRIZE (Brian) A KIND OF MAGIC & DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD (Roger) ONE YEAR OF THE LOVE(John). You like Queen? I’d like to SUB 🎉😊
Man, auto tune was invented in 1996, 5 years after Freddie's death. Check out Queen Under pressure live at Wembley 86, Fat bottomed girls live at Bowl 82 and White queen live at the Odeon 75
agree, the times of real performance is over, its all AI now, its lost its humanity sadly, so, please keep these things sacred in your hearts, when you really need something real.
It was a sad, sad day when we lost this beautiful golden man! Thankfully his beautiful vibrato vocals live on through his legendary music. 😢❤
The best male vocalist of all time
You could hear a pin drop in the stadium. The audience held in the palm of his hand!
What it means?
Im now 57 years old and Freddy has helped me through all difficult situations in life . I will always carry him in my heart and cherish him.
The Queen Army is loyal and we love our boys. They never disappoint
True words
ABSOLUTELY!
Queen died when Freddie died. I love Queen with Freddie. I hate them without him
Truer words have never been spoken! 👑🌈❤

Queen live is so fantastic. Freddie's vocal abilities are really unmatched, he could sing any genre .
We are a ferocious bunch, us Queen fans! It’s true. 😉😉
"How can you not like Queen?" Very well said. For a true gut punch of a song, if you haven't already, give "The Show Must Go On" a listen. Freddie was very ill and dying when it was recorded but his voice was still all Freddie and he gave 100%.

I'm starting to like you Welcome to the Queen family

Brian May has a PhD in astrophysics. Check him out on Wikipedia!

Freddie was incredible. Pure talent and owned the stage unlike today. The whole band was awesome.
Said it right,,”how can you not like Queen.”
I just love how silent the crowd is and hanging on every word freddie is singing.
Brian May never read the script for "Highlander", he was simply told the premise (a man who is immortal, never ages.)
They saw short cuts of the movie - and made the whole soundtrack including other songs - each of Them wrote at least one.
Just keep playing queen…..you will become a Queenie!! Cool cat & innuendo two gtezt tracks!!❤️🎼
My favourite 😊 thanks for your reaction 😊😊
Glad to see, you are coming around to really enjoying Queen and Freddie. Rock on!
Our boys are four Beautiful souls that were meant to be from the time they were born. Truly . It was all a Divine plan ❤️
Queen is awesome and so loved. ❤❤❤❤
Well said young man
Keep going. Queen is fantastic. Freddie was the greatest singer and all four members were professional musicians that took their jobs seriously. ❤thanks btw try Hyde Park 1975 You take my breath away.
Autotune didn't even exist back then. Just pure talent.
Queen ( princes of the universe)

White Queen live is just unearthly and ethereal, Take my breath away is just beautiful. Freddie's range is awesome

All versions from Montrea 1981 are sublime - they were filmed for a movie a
Nf Queen never fails.
Freddie Forever Loved XX
This is my first reaction to your channel so you may have heard this already; but Queen also wrote all their own songs, & yes - no autotune.
❤queen as beatles stones free who fantastic

That's why this song on RUclips is the overdubbed versions. You can hear the extra layering in the chorus.
Us Queen fans are hardcore! 😉😉😉
Written and performed for a movie called "Highlander" starring Christopher Lambert
You want to watch at Wembley stadium (live aid) queen 😮😮😮

Two words for this magnificent bend: energy and unique. Noone like Freddie.
I love the duet of Freddie and Monserrat Caberreo doing Barcelona…it’s amazing…. It is not a Queen song but it shows what a class act Freddie was😊
love it

The reason Freddie dint get his teeth fixed is because he thought it would affect his singing voice 💚
There can be only....ONE Freddie

Stone cold crazy. One vision. The documentary (not the extended version). The other one is better The making of one vision.
You have to listen to
Exercises In Free Love . It’s not live though.💕
Do Queen “back chat “ live 1982 in Milton Keynes 🔥🔥🔥thanks boss
