Mumbai is a very expensive city. This specific hotel was one of the cheaper options in the area, and was nearly $250/night. However, because my friend @dailymax24 was set to arrive in the evening, I figured it would be a nice place for us to crash and check into late in the evening. Luckily, Mr. Perfect was ready at the hotel to greet me. Hope you enjoy.

I remember I once booked a room at this Continental Hotel on my birthday. I will never forget how this Omkar guy after seeing my birthdate on my ID, upgraded my room (normal to some grand deluxe suite) and also arranged a cake. God bless him man!

He's undoubtedly self-assured and composed. However, it's clear that he isn't putting into practice what he's learned from his studies. In the field of hospitality, it's important to distinguish between acting amiable and forming actual friendships.
I actually have a couple of things to say
1. Omkar is a gem! He is one of a kind.
2. For any foreigners watching, Omkar speaks like any other Indian who speaks English, nothing extra. I obviously haven't met him but that's how atleast i speak English.
3. That confidence comes with meeting and speaking to a lot of people and that's why you know, man's experienced...
4. The way he carries himself and takes you around shows what he is comfortable with.
80-90% of people i hv interacted with in India dont speak english as fluent as Omkar.
I mean ofc its his job to communicate w foreigners in english, i think its unfair to compare.

Not everyone in india is as fluent as omar.
I guess 70% of Indians can't match omkar's confidence and body language and English fluency

Chris, since you spend so much time outside the US, you should know better by now. If you pick USD, the merchant converts at their rate and charges your card in USD. If you pay in the local currency, your credit card issuer (bank) does the conversion. The bank's rate is ALWAYS better, even if your card has fees for foreign transactions (and it's not hard to get a credit card that has zero foreign transaction fees).
Maybe he doesn't care. The program "save money where you can" is not installed in everyone.
@@topback99 When you pay in USD there's no conversion for the bank to do (Chris is from the US). The hotel converts (at their worse rate) to USD and the card just sees a USD charge.
If Chris had picked INR the hotel doesn't do any conversion. The card sees an INR charge and converts to USD at the card issuer's end.

TIP: Whenever asked in foreign country. Whether i should charge your credit card in Local currency or your home currency. always opt for Local Currency.

At $250 you are supposed to get a posh room and a very efficient receptionist like Omkar, here in India. As Indian rupee has high purchasing power parity compared to the US, you get similar experience of being in a $500-600 accommodation at the NYC in just $250. I've been to some five stars in India, they all have a somewhat outspoken but still efficient and charming receptionists like him. 😄

Please do visit south Mumbai, it is filled with good eateries and all the insta worthy places. Also hope Omkar doesn't land in trouble for revealing his resignation and his probable new employer on camera . Have fun!
