I just bought a tin of Walnut No Pain Gel Stain for a similar style (white distressed w/walnut top) and am looking forward to using it. You're the first person I've seen do this with foam brushes, which makes a ton of sense! I have white Voodoo so it's interesting to see how the different products take effect. The bits of blue popping through look great. This is a great piece your son can enjoy now, and even when he has a home of his own. Thanks for sharing your great projects and experiences!

Big fan of all things Dixie Bell. Their brushes are expensive but are the finest quality and easily cleaned. Worthwhile investment if planning for future chalk paint projects! The paint is easy to work with and great options as far as trendy colors popular right now. Nice transformation here.
Wow! What switch from blue to drift wood. I love it. It turn out fabulous. I’ve worked a lot on pieces of furniture mostly mine have been antiques n I don’t have the heart to strip them down to that beautiful piece u just did. I would love to try this on a night stand or old dresser that’s not a antique. I know it takes a lot of time but it so well worth it when u see the finish product. Ive never tried Dixie Bell but I’ve been wanting to so maybe this video will get be motivated. ♥️😊👍
