- Hello Loves and welcome back to another video! In today's video I'm showing you how I maintain my silk press at night without "wrapping" my hair. Wearing my relaxed hair in a straight style helped me maintain my length when my hair was longer; however, using the paddle brush everyday also thinned my hair out over time. The damage wasn't drastic, but I still want to give my hair the best chance possible and find was to minimize damage as best as I can.
This method is so much easier and faster than wrapping my hair and gives me a similar look, without the damage. Let me know what you think of this method or if you'll be trying it.
Thank you for watching! Don't forget to like the video, comment and subscribe!

Wearing my hair straight or in a silk press is one of the easiest ways I maintain it; but I wanted to find a way that was less manipulative and damaging on my hair. This method is so easy and less damaging. Let me know what you think 💖
I stopped wrapping my hair at night because it was causing my edges to thin. Thank you for this video!
So coincidental that you posted this because i used to wrap my hair every night when my hair was longer. And now that I’m growing out a. Pixie my hair just doesn’t like wrapping anymore so I stopped trying. It is healthier now that I stopped wrapping. Good tips! Thanks!
I also think this is great for fine hair. Wrapping and unwrapping everyday is a lot of manipulation that can lead to breakage. I have fine hair and I only wrap it maybe up to 3-4 days after wash day while it’s super straight and super easy to comb through. After that my natural oils start to weigh my hair down, my new growth may revert a little and it’s not as easy to wrap anymore and can suffer breakage, so that’s when I tie my hair down like how you do yours.
Nah…. Don’t think so
I have to moisturize and tie my hair up or it doesn’t act right. I recently cut my hair off and I’m wearing a pixie cut.
Your beauty is different. i've never seen a short hairstyle look this good before. it just compliments every feature on your face perfectly. i'm gonna press my hair tomorrow nd' you literally gave me a confidence boost. thank you. ❤
This is a game changer! Thank you!
Interesting never thought about this before
I use this method and it maintains my hair in a better shape also healthier because I'm not manipulating it as I used to before. Thank you
So glad you posted this!! I just cut my hair this length a few days ago and was struggling with a night time routine for it. 😅
I Soooo needed to see this! I just relaxed my hair right after Christmas and I began wrapping it BUT now I will most definitely be using this method. Thank Youuu sweetie ❤
Thank God for RUclips. I normally rollerset my hair on wash days and pin curl my hair before bed. On today's wash day I flat ironed my hair (13 weeks post relaxer and one more week to go before my next touch up 🙌🏾). I want to maintain my flat ironed style, but I didn't want to wrap my hair because one side of my hair never looks good when I unwrap and I'm also uncomfortable with excessive manipulation. I'm trying out your method tonight and I'm confident that my hair will look just as fabulous tomorrow as it does today.
I had been doing this then started wrapping and I also felt one side was thinning. So I switched around. Same thing. But I was still saying I have to wrap. I am so glad I watched this. Thank you ❤
I have natural hair, silk pressed. I love your method. Thank you.
Thanks for the tips my dear. I love your hair thanks for the night routine you have given us
Great idea it is perfect for my short blunt bob. Thank you💯
So I’ve joined the growing relaxed healthy hair journey! And I appreciate this method. Right now I haven’t added any heat yet and have been wrapping in circular motion for the first 2 weeks. I do not use a paddle brush. It’s pixie length so I sometimes will keep it wrapped and oiled until Inbetween finger wave styles. Next week I’ll be doing heat and this information is great!
So glad I found this video as my hair is short and paddle brush is damaging my hair
Thank you for sharing, I would deff be trying this. I hate how my hair falls when I wrap it but I was unsure of another way to maintain it at night when straight.
