The Domestication of Sheep

- This animated film gives precise instruction and illustrates the processes whereby wild animals are domesticated and turned into machines--in the case of sheep, wool, milk and meat machines. It proposes that, historically, the domestication of wild animals was a model for human slavery and for the sexual subjugation of women... at first female captives, then wives and daughters. The film also contextualizes an educational film which teaches us how to appreciate, naively, the "gifts" that animals "give" us.
Damn this is deep

Thanks! You answered questions I didn't know I had, and now I have even more questions haha
Wow, this was so good! Came here to learn about sheep domestication and you dropped the philosophy bomb in with some of the most subtle messaging I’ve ever seen on YT pre reveal. So good! And thought provoking!
Wow. Its whats been done to us.
Anne-
Thanks for the response to my sheep film. You're right. That's what they're going to us.
Best, jill
So I got baked and watched a sheep get sheared... now I'm here questioning humanity and my social security number...
Bravo my friend ✌💚
amazing content
Amazingly done! Great video.
Thanks Omar.

Really great video I had to comment twice!!

This is alway a question i had like how could they have been wild if they die if no one shaves them
lerry-where did you get that information. Never heard it before. JILL
@jillgodmilow9829 I don't know a lot bit I've always hear if you don't shave them they can die from the weight if they are not shaved, never heard of a wild sheep either, I just have questions.
@@lerry3176Let's say that's true for our modern domesticated sheep. Even if so, it almost certainly was not true of their wild ancestors. They have surely been bred to produce more wool.
@Genarii oh wow lol thank you idk why I didn't think about that 😅
Human Superiority
The domestication process is really sad homestly the more i learn makes me want to stop eating meat and start living cleaner
Thank God this isn't how Christ sees His sheep! ✝️ 🙏😰😬😳🥺🫢😫😱
100% how Christ sees his sheep 😂 we don’t naturally shed, we go to barbers. We don’t do well without leadership or religion or order. Men are currently being neutered by society and women are being fed to corporations. “More efficient to bring food to them” Sounds like a grocery store to me. “That’s the devil”. God allows evil in order for the lamb to know it’s Shepard. The hard part is knowing thy Shepard. Of course a being that created all will know all. His son was an example of what we could become, not who we all are. Following the adversary will destroy you, following Christ will build you. Look more into what Christ says and not what the “Church” teaches. BE SOLEMN IN YOUR PRACTICE
Hair sheep do not need to be sheared. Better eating, the meat has no lanolin.
What's a hair sheep? Have I misrpresented them?
@@jillgodmilow9829 the hair sheep are a breed ie. Dorper, or Katahdin we have Dorper/Katahdin crosses. Hair sheep are closer to the wild ancestor imo, Hair sheep have a mixture of hair and wool that sheds naturally in the spring.
Sheep are way easier to raise and care for than goats. We have two bottle babies at present, 4 am feedings suck. lol
@@allanlewisorr335 Can you send me a photo of a hair sheep? jgodmilo@nd.edu
@@jillgodmilow9829 yes.
Be vegan. Watch earthlings
I could have sworn I saw you in the comment on a video about rabbits , dogs and now sheep
Meaning what? The fruits nad vegetables we eat don't grow naturally in the wild. We've domesticated wild plants for food in a similar manner.
i just wanted to watch how sheep got domesticated, not vegan propogranda 😭😭😭
Amazing video.
Glad you think so! Where did you see it?
