    Hi Adrian, It's great to see another one of your videos, and the weather was fantastic. Loved Covadonga Lakes the water was so smooth that you didn't need to do a long exposure, the water was so calm. I liked the look of the Church from far away and close up as well. The lamppost light looked really nice in the fog, and the photos you took with the Telephoto Lens were beautiful. This is true photography from the heart. Thanks for sharing this great video, scenes like these I've never seen before. 😊

      Thanks! And yeah, I totally get why they are popular. In the end, camera gear does matter to some degree, and it's usually not cheap so some research is needed to find what you need.

    Fantásticas fotografías que hacen justicia a un precioso lugar, Adrián. Siempre estoy ganas de volver allí desde la primera vez que estuve, a ver si saco tiempo, que ese es siempre el principal problema. ¿Has podido subir tú en tu coche o hay que seguir subiendo en los autobuses que ponen de servicio?
    Felicidades y un saludo!!

    • @aows
      @aows  Год назад +1

      Muchas gracias! Es sin duda un lugar precioso, y sí, pude subir con el coche. Lo “único” a tener en cuenta es que en temporada alta cierran la carretera a las 7:30 de la mañana creo recordar, a partir de ahí solo pasan locales, taxis y autobuses. Pero si madrugas y te metes antes, puedes estar todo el día allá arriba.

      Thank you, Shane, I really appreciate your support. It means a lot and it allows me do things like that trip to the UK. I'm aiming for the beginning of August. The trip was going to be mainly Scotland but I'm afraid of the midges so I might spend a few weeks in England / Wales / lowlands before heading further north.

    Are those bell sounds what you are recording in the background or did you add it?

    • @aows
      @aows  Год назад +1

      I didn't add anything, that was what it sounded like up there. Hundreds of cows, each one with a bell. You get used to it after a while, but I can only imagine how annoying it is for the cow!

    Hi Adrian, I've been researching picking up a 6x6 film camera and so I've been watching your videos from a few years back. I've been shooting b&w for 40 years so I sorta know what I'm looking at. 🙂And please don't take this the wrong way, I love your work, but I just have to comment. The scans from the Bronica negatives had a lot more inherent luminosity vs. your digital work which is a lot flatter. It's as if you lost Zone 7 somewhere along the way... If you watch a few of your Bronica stills videos and then this one or any of the digital stills ones really, the difference is very noticeable. I watched your video regarding why you switched to digital and I agree that the image is what's important not the gear, but on the other hand, the Bronica was making better images in my opinion. So take that for what it's worth and thanks for the videos.

    • @aows
      @aows  Год назад

      Hi, Edward! First of all, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
      I consider the debate film vs digital meaningless because it comes down to the preference of the photographer. If film meets your needs and you love the results you are getting, then film is perfect for you :)
      As for my images made with the Bronica vs the ones with my digital camera... I don't know, after scanning the negatives with a relatively cheap scanner, editing them in Lightroom as much (if not even more, because HP5 can be very flat), and then adding the YT compression on top of all of that... I'm not sure that's the best way to compare them.
      When I look back at those images and compare them to the ones I'm making today, I see no noticeable difference (even using a big screen and looking at the high res images). Again, this is due to the way I process them, many times I have to check the metadata to know which camera I used.
      And while film was definitely the right choice for me in that moment of my career, digital has taken that and improved upon it a lot thanks to being more affordable and accessible. I wouldn't have been able to make even half of the images I showed in this video with the Bronica; first because I couldn't afford it, and second because nothing can beat a digital camera and a zoom lens in rapidly changing conditions. And I value that more than the supposed improvement in dynamic range, luminosity, or what have you.
      Again, this is just my case and what works for me, which doesn't have to be what works for you at all.
      Thanks again!

      @@aows I absolutely agree and you are right, RUclips is no way to judge a photograph. I know this from my own work as well. The real proof is in the printing and my digital prints from Canon Pro-1000 are fine. however, unlike yourself, digital doesn't inspire me in any way and quite the opposite I think it's ruined it for me. I'm think I'm done with photography. I get nothing out of it any more except one big hassle.

    • @aows
      @aows  Год назад

      @@EdwardMartinsPhotography I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you can find joy in photography again with that 6x6 camera. Bronicas are great, so if you can get your hands on one, I know you'll love it. Good luck on your journey!
