Looks very cool! But, in my opinion, the legibility is kind of scattered. I will try to explain what I mean: 1) Hours at 12, 02, 04, 06, 08, 10 (grey-ish small ciphers); 2) Minutes at 55, 05, 25, 35, 45 position (big yellow ciphers) - outer part of the dial; 3) Minutes at 50, 10 and 40 position (small yellow ciphers) - inner part of the dial, disrupted by small dial for the seconds; 4) Hours at 07 and 09 position (small dark-grey/black ciphers) - inner part of the dial. At least for me, it will be a difficult task to say the hour at a glance without some exercises. Because the mentioned elements of the dial look distracting/random. I don't know - may be this kind of labeling of the dial is specific for the aviation, but I doubt that the majority of the potential buyers of the watch are aviators, especially Spitfire ones. In addition, many other aviation watches that I've watched in the reviews were much more legible, and simple to read (for example, models from: Orient, Techne, Aristo, Aeromatic, Messerschmitt). Despite of the confusing legibility on a glance, on a glance seems they've tried to populate the dial with something to make the watch more distinguishable. All of this is just my opinion. I'm glad you've presented an unboxing of this watch (still cool-looking), sir!
Actually, as a pilot I quite like it. It's much easier to read time to precision especially if you're close to landing with a bunch of things to do while contacting tower for ETA or calculating fuel.
Presentation was very impressive and the watch, too. Maybe 5 instead of 25 would be worth of trying? I like big watches with Arabic numerals. Looks solid as a rock. 👍
Looks nice but still too busy for me. I would design it few mm smaller and make smaller numericals lums at 12 6 2 8 4 10 so lum missing at date window is not missed
Very nice looking watch, but would like to have seen 2 changes. 1- move the date to the 6 O'clock, and 2- put a 15 at the 3 O'clock. Otherwise.....very nice looking watch. Can't wait to see the review.
I couldn't have said it better. Nice pilot's watch. Nice color scheme and certainly the right size and right lume for a flieger style watch. I have one of the gray ones on the way to me right now, but I think I like this green dial and yellow hand one even better! Nice.
I love the size of this watch, I have a 6.75 wrist and most of my watches are large, it’s what I like to wear so this watch is perfect in my view, it’s all subjective, looking forward to your review..
i've never thought the avi-8s to be that hard to read...especially compared to your Hublot's and Richard Mille's, which cost a few orders of magnitude more
@@biharijivandana6894 they started as a micro and I still refer to them as micro, but they are definitely larger than what a normal micro is, not as large Christopher Ward, but coming close to it
@@WatchGeek well thanks for updating me as i got to know bout one more microbrand Christopher ward. Whats the difference in microbrand and other major brands.

They decently should have kept minutes on the outside and hours inside rather than mixing them like this.
Totally agree. It gets quite confusing how they did it...

It's a pilot's watch or at least a very nice homage to one.
I like this one! I thought about getting one but the dials were to busy for my liking. This looks heaps better...
Presentation was very impressive and the watch, too. Maybe 5 instead of 25 would be worth of trying? I like big watches with Arabic numerals. Looks solid as a rock. 👍

It does look too big. It's such as shame. Pilots watch or not.
Is it strange that i like the pillow as much as the watch?
Haha me too
Yes.
Strange? It's a cry for help.
To me this dial does look confusing. I prefer the Avi-8 Hawker Hurricane.
Strippers at the club were not impressed-gave the watch to the valet.

That green box is nice!
Not interested in pilot style watches but this one may change my mind, and the spitfire being my favourite aircraft✈

fell in love with the box and i think it will look better with leather strap given.
I got the 4055 but it wasn't ticking right out of the box like yours is, is it malfunctioning? (I'm waiting for customer service support).

Love th packaging, great review, the watch i snot for me... seems to thick...
It's not too big IMO. Pilot watches are supposed to be big.
Good reveiw, Nice quality ,but to big for me, but real nice dial & case/ bracelet. Thanx. P.S. Tx.
With this one the AVI-8 definitely leaned towards the less extravagant spectrum, but I still find their Mustang to be more interesting and unique.
Nice watch! Can you tell me the serial number of the seiko 5 or the videos name of the review?
Check out the AV-8. Black Arrow.
I believed for a second that the big word "automatic" was plastered on the Basel... I was a half second away from closing out the vid lmao
Great review & great watch but a lil to small for me. ✌️😎
Thanks and you must be quite large to find this small 😁😁
Great review, nice looking watch, thanks
I've always pronounced it a-v-ate (aviate). They're aircraft inspired watches.
I wish you’d get hold of and review some classic high end HAQ Quartz seikos from the past - Grand Quartz, Quartz Superior and Majesta -
If you were in the UK I’d send you some of mine to review and show - Seiko Quartz Superior in all forms is a thing of beauty -
I think that is a nice looking watch and I like the face of the watch as well.
Great piece I love it thanks for the review.
Looks like a Hammy Khaki Pilot.. but not bad.
I have the same seiko 5! Love those watches ❤️
Excellent review as always - I think you’ve the best watch channel - no pompous self important hot air - but really knowledgable and interesting
Thanks 😁👍
I'd just add something. Do blur the sequence with your adress. Just in case next time. That's some bloody nice watch. Like it.
7:20 Big and legible = pilot's watch.

Avi 8 is brand from which country?
They are owned by Dartmouth brands company which also owns Spinnaker and are based in the United Kingdom
@@WatchGeek thanks for you reply and your help i appreciate it.
Can we categorise it under microbrand?

Very nice. I would luv to get one👍🏼👍🏼
This is a Hamilton Khaki Aviator homage IMO.
Great video
Thanks...as usual 😁👍
I Love this Brand
Great watch
Not too big, but very beautiful 👌
Hey buddy, it's 'aviate.' Like aviator.
I know 😁
Nice
Nice, I like it :)

Aviate me thinks not Aveeee 8 lol
i kinda like thicc watches
It's like wearing Big Ben
First
Congrats
That is an incredibly mediocre looking watch 😒
Hamilton wannabee...
Also; not "avvi eight" but "aviate"... As in aviation.... 🤔
