This tutorial has been so so so helpful! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Glad to know you found this helpful! Feedbacks like this really motivate me to keep doing what I do. :)
This technique can also be used for prop textures.
There is still a lot of information missing to be able to draw like this!!! Starting from the resolution, which brush, how is the brush set, what if I use a pen and and and and...
Recently began to use the tips in this video. Uploaded a video on my channel to keep track of my progress. I’m really hoping to get better at landscape design and art, This was a great video to reference. Thanks!
Tkx for teaching me how to draw rock properly btw i am a good artist because your help i can finish me super cool art projects
As an artist trying to learn how to draw environments, thank you
Wow it’s been 10 months and you’re still hearting comments, you truly rock dude

Rock: *existing clean*
Moss: Let me make it more natural
My guy you saved my life 🙏
Such a SOLID tutorial. Thanks a lot.
I think I already said this but I can tell Walid is your inspiration!
I mean you use his brush set and ideas for tutorials lol :D
He definitely is one of my inspirations.
This video is a part of an ongoing series where I teach how to paint natural elements like rocks, bushes, mountains, glass, clouds and so on, simplified for biginners. I'll be doing wood next. I've always wanted to make this series for years, even long before I had come across Walid's channel a year ago. And it's a pretty common topic. I think every art channel ever has done a rock painting tutorial at some point lol. The first half segment of this video was made long back for my private students but I figured I should include it here as well along with some newer footages.
@@TheGeekArtist I see, thanks for the clarification, I wasn't expecting that lol
Anyways, don't get me wrong, I love your art and videos! :)
Thank you Emily. Glad to know. 😊
Thank you so much!!!
Very helpful video. Thanks for the brushes.
This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for. I spent a lot of time sifting through google images for some good references of gold stone(the raw ore form NOT processed and refined). Its surprising how both google and RUclips has little to no art or guides on such a thing.
I'm working on a design that incorporates silver and gold stones. I can paint them in their processed forms(jewelry, bars etc) but have no idea how to make them in their raw vein forms. Your video teaches rocks but I noticed how you made it look rocky but also metallic like metal.
I think the knowledge in this video will serve me well in my mission. Thank you so much!
Wow so brilliant! Thanks a lot 🙏🏻
would be nice to know what brush you use, or where to get it or alternatives or anything such as that that be cool.
Thanks for the tutorial i can draw most of the rock nicely now 😊 but i cant seem to draw the cracks properly, any tips?
Thanks for these videos they are really helpful :)
Excelente, me ayudó mucho!, ¡Gracias!
Please what brush can one use to make this type of rock
You say this is for Beginners but then you don't explain how your navigating through the software. Are you using custom shortcuts?
This focus more on the art fundamental, aesthetics and digital workflow for painting rocks rather than the the software's technical navigation. I've made other videos that focus on getting used the the software's UI and key functions and even separate video on shortcuts alone. But thanks for pointing it out, I'll try to include more shortcuts in my upcoming videos.
Love you 10000 , gonna share to my friends it's really useful
Dude its amazing how you were able to impress that level of detail, but there are a lot of steps that miss me like the tools used in ps to get those effects you have applied and the layers effect needed to achieve this kind of result, due to the speed of the stream. Could kindly explain, step by step, how you done it?
спасибо чувак (thank you dude)
I was looking for a tutorial for rocks for my project and this was it! Thank you!! I was actually trying to color the shapes in by hand like on real paper...your way is so much smarter and quicker!
Thank you so much! I’m a beginner digital artist and this is really helpful for my next drawing

This is definitely not for beginners

Hey! When your sketching the cracks into the rock sphere, what brush do you use? It’s an oval shape and I really love it
What brush are you using to draw the lines on the 2 minute mark onward?
So helpful!
thank's 4 the tut's .. i was struggling to paint rock, but now i'm rocks \m/
What Pts CS6 version is that?
Where do you get your brushes?
I am a beginner, thank you for sharing.
8:18 "Fill with base color." I am confused as to how you did that so quickly without right clicking and selecting fill etc... Are you using the Alt+Del method?
The shortcut for filling a selected area with foreground color is: Alt + backspace.
That's what I used.
thank you
Thanks for this tutorial. I hope u will make more videos for us that can learn about digital painting. Wish u all the best
I have question about why the lasso tool I use is different with yours, it didn't select inside the draft line, it select the selected area which even outside the draft line too. when I want to fill in the color, it covered the whole selected area even the draft line.
I didn't quite get it. But what ever it is, I'd love to solve it. DM me on my Instagram page with some screenshots of what's happening and we'll try to figure this out. @tgathegeekartist
Thx 😊
Amazing
