This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for. I spent a lot of time sifting through google images for some good references of gold stone(the raw ore form NOT processed and refined). Its surprising how both google and RUclips has little to no art or guides on such a thing. I'm working on a design that incorporates silver and gold stones. I can paint them in their processed forms(jewelry, bars etc) but have no idea how to make them in their raw vein forms. Your video teaches rocks but I noticed how you made it look rocky but also metallic like metal. I think the knowledge in this video will serve me well in my mission. Thank you so much!
I was looking for a tutorial for rocks for my project and this was it! Thank you!! I was actually trying to color the shapes in by hand like on real paper...your way is so much smarter and quicker!
Recently began to use the tips in this video. Uploaded a video on my channel to keep track of my progress. I’m really hoping to get better at landscape design and art, This was a great video to reference. Thanks!
He definitely is one of my inspirations. This video is a part of an ongoing series where I teach how to paint natural elements like rocks, bushes, mountains, glass, clouds and so on, simplified for biginners. I'll be doing wood next. I've always wanted to make this series for years, even long before I had come across Walid's channel a year ago. And it's a pretty common topic. I think every art channel ever has done a rock painting tutorial at some point lol. The first half segment of this video was made long back for my private students but I figured I should include it here as well along with some newer footages.
There is still a lot of information missing to be able to draw like this!!! Starting from the resolution, which brush, how is the brush set, what if I use a pen and and and and...
Dude its amazing how you were able to impress that level of detail, but there are a lot of steps that miss me like the tools used in ps to get those effects you have applied and the layers effect needed to achieve this kind of result, due to the speed of the stream. Could kindly explain, step by step, how you done it?
I have question about why the lasso tool I use is different with yours, it didn't select inside the draft line, it select the selected area which even outside the draft line too. when I want to fill in the color, it covered the whole selected area even the draft line.
I didn't quite get it. But what ever it is, I'd love to solve it. DM me on my Instagram page with some screenshots of what's happening and we'll try to figure this out. @tgathegeekartist
8:18 "Fill with base color." I am confused as to how you did that so quickly without right clicking and selecting fill etc... Are you using the Alt+Del method?
This focus more on the art fundamental, aesthetics and digital workflow for painting rocks rather than the the software's technical navigation. I've made other videos that focus on getting used the the software's UI and key functions and even separate video on shortcuts alone. But thanks for pointing it out, I'll try to include more shortcuts in my upcoming videos.

This technique can also be used for prop textures.

Thanks for your feedback. I'll definitely try to make a slower and longer video that goes into the details of all the technical steps in the future.

The shortcut for filling a selected area with foreground color is: Alt + backspace.
That's what I used.
Where do you get your brushes?
What brush are you using to draw the lines on the 2 minute mark onward?
Can u share ur smudge tool??? I use ClipStudio and there doesn't have smudge tool :/
What Pts CS6 version is that?
You say this is for Beginners but then you don't explain how your navigating through the software. Are you using custom shortcuts?

i am learn slow not speed😕
This is definitely not for beginners
I do plan on doing more simplified video on painting rocks with easier and. Ore stylized techniques. Appreciate your feedback.
Thx 😊
