  • Video taken on 2/13/14. The reason why this siren is rotating by the wind because this siren has a broken rotator. When it got a broken rotator. This siren rotated over 360° by the wind and snap the main wire that connects to the speaker drivers. Then Scott (who works for Spartanburg County EMA) rewired it and put something on it where this siren won't rotate over 360°. This siren rotator did not got fixed. This siren rotator probably won't get fixed anytime soon. This siren is part of Spartanburg County warning siren system. This siren is tested at the first Saturday of each month at 1:00pm EST (weather permitting) in 3 minutes of alert and 3 minutes of wail. This siren is located near Greer, South Carolina at Pelham-Batesville fire department off of Brockman McClimon road and Abner Creek road.
