I've never fallen in love with a channel so fast. I recently picked embroidery up as a hobby and your channel has been the most helpful. The tutorials are excellent!
My best friend got me started with needle work after many decades, and handling the needle is helping with the neuropathy caused by the chemotherapy I am currently undergoing. I would be lost if not for your concise videos on how to stitch. Thanks for helping.
Thank you for this video. While vacationing in Mexico I purchased a dress with this stitch running along the hem in wave pattern. I wore it ONE time before noticing that 3/4 of the stitches were unraveling. Thanks to your video I am confident in replacing all the stitches that I lost. So…THANK YOU!❤
Thank goodness for teaching people how to do the chain stick, I found it! I bought the quilt pansies embroidered for my daughter, but I don’t know how to do chain stick, split stick , satin stick! I found your clip on RUclips ! Thank you very much! You shearing , very easy to understand! ❤
Thank you so much. I watched another video but they went through everything so fast that I struggled to really learn. I´ve got it now. Thank you. No wonder you have so many views of your videos!
Thank you again for this very clear instructional video. I am always curious, though, of what the back of the fabric looks like. Would you show us in your next videos? Thank you!
Eyo! This video really helped out! My teacher was teaching us like this but not like the video, but then i found this video, its now easy to do chain stitch!
I had two embroidery kits with books that explained how to do the chain stitch and BOTH were confusing and contradicted each other! But your video made it look so easy!!! I watched, then when I finished watched and figured I didn't even need to try because I understood so well. UT I figured I should try, and I did ND no problem what so ever! Thank you so much for explaining in a way that made it so easy when TWO books couldn't!
I’ve had a look at this video and the instructions are very clear! Looking forward to having a practice run at this stitch! I’ve bought an Embroidery Hoop kit but won’t start it until I’ve mastered the different stitches! There’s 9 of them! 😆🪡🧵
this helps me so much with my school project that my teacher gave me!! You explained so much better than my teacher! Honestly where i live the only thing the teachers do are come to school and not give an effort to teach us and take money and done for the day! thanks so much!! :)))🥰
Aw, I'm sorry it's like that, but glad I could help! My kids tell me the same things about some of their teachers. One of their teachers literally told them, "It's not my job to teach you." Haha! What?!
Thank you for helping my learn embroidery through this pandemic! I purchased some kits online and couldn't have learned so well without your helpful videos to supplement the instructions that came with the kits. 💖 It's been a life saver through COVID to relax and focus on this craft. Thank you.
So, having tried this, I realized that you used a thicker mending-type thread, only a single strand too...I tried a thin double thread piece of cotton, and the loop merely twisted around itself! That made life very hard! I'll go and buy some mending thread today and use one strand for the loop. Then, practice! I'm 74 you see!
I'm actually using embroidery floss, which is made up of 6 smaller strands. You can separate the strands to make your stitches bigger or smaller. I used all 6 strands to make it easier to see for the video. My favorite amount to use is 3 strands, so just separate the 6 in half.
Thank you. I have just seen someone on Pinterest doing chain stitch backwards and it really freaked me out- so nice to discover from you that I'm not the only one who does it this way! (I'm not referring to direction of travel, it was way weirder than that.)
Yes, I think I've seen people do this, although I haven't tried it myself. If it's a crochet or knit blanket, yarn would be good. If it's a fabric blanket, I would probably use something like pearl cotton.
I am working on putting a name on a sweater and I have learned how to do the chain stitch but with the thicker yarn and the sweater it does not look as clean as yours does. Any suggestions for getting a clean chain stitch in a sweater with a thicker yarn?
Thank you for this! This is commonly used by crocheters to create a foundation chain attached to a piece of fabric (eg a zip), I've always wondered how to do it properly!
There are ways to start without a knot, but most of the time I just start with a knot in my thread. When I'm done, I run my needle under a few of the stitches in the back and just cut it off if it seems secure. Sometimes I will tie a knot in during that part as well. Here's a video that shows how to do it without knots: ruclips.net/video/QTZZ8rpYcf8/видео.htmlsi=cqSGb2lFMRinRFTc
Hi! I was wondering if you had a video about how to change the thread in the middle of a chain stitch. I have seen pictorial guides but I can't quite wrap my head around it.
I don't have a video. Not sure if there's a "correct" way to do it, but I'd probably just tack a chain down like I do in this video for the last one. Then you could bring up the new thread in that same spot and it would cover the tack stitch.
so I have a few questions !! what fabric do you use for this? -can I use this same fabric with the embroidery on a future pillow? EX: as the center of a new pillow case?! my last question is how long/far away should each Stich be from each other??
Here's a link to fabrics I like to use: cutesycrafts.com/2018/07/best-embroidery-fabric.html. You can embroidery on almost any fabric though. If it's really stretchy or thin, you'll want to use an interfacing on the back. For stitch length, I just go with whatever looks right. You want to shorten stitch length when you go around curves.
You want a size 3 embroidery needle for 6 strands. Here's a post where I have info about needle sizes: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/5-essential-hand-embroidery-supplies.html
Okay I’m a diy person and I’m trying this but running out of yarn like I can do a little bit at a time and all the yarn is at the beginning what am I doing wrong?
Watch this video, and hopefully it will help: ruclips.net/video/PnNuzgSplaE/видео.htmlsi=AJzvb92R0xJ_OjT5 If you are using embroidery floss, you don't burn the ends. Just cut off about the length from your hand to your elbow, separate the amount of strands that you want to use, thread the needle, and tie a knot in the long end.
I really appreciate how concise your stitch tutorials are. I have had to look them up at many different times when I forget how to do a stitch ☺️
Thank you so much! I have to watch them myself when I forget. Hahaha!

How does the back look? Do you knot it so the stitches don’t fall out?

Okay I’m a diy person and I’m trying this but running out of yarn like I can do a little bit at a time and all the yarn is at the beginning what am I doing wrong?
Okay but how do you start (lengths of string/ thread) it and do I burn the end to seal it ?
Watch this video, and hopefully it will help: ruclips.net/video/PnNuzgSplaE/видео.htmlsi=AJzvb92R0xJ_OjT5 If you are using embroidery floss, you don't burn the ends. Just cut off about the length from your hand to your elbow, separate the amount of strands that you want to use, thread the needle, and tie a knot in the long end.
Thank you ❤️it helped me much
Helped a
lot
i pulled just a little after doing 3 chain stitches and they all came out. ??????
Maybe it's because you did not fasten the stitches on. To do this, simply do one backstitch and continue with ur chain stitch
Jessica Main maybe you didn’t see the ending about how you close it or, perhaps if you did watch the end then you maybe didn’t close it correctly?
I did that too but when I tried again it didnt happen so idk
I don't understands
How to do embroidery design using punch needle set ?
Please make an video
Its alot easier then i thought🙃😅 thanks a lot😄
