''theres more screaming than you think'' is such an insane line
And it never stops until they're dead...sweet dreams sweetie. *Shuts off light and closes door*
It’s almost like a warning for all the screaming that Raygun Busch does on this album lmao
You never forget their eyes man
The utter confusion brad was in while typing that title proves that his life truly is like a video game
Trying hard to beat the stage
@@gameboy3d943 all while i am still collecting coins
@@jag-stang29 trying hard to save the girl
“This song is dark, disgusting, traumatic and I never want to listen to it again. I give it a smiley ball face”
Yeah, this stuff is disgusting and repulsive on purpose.
Of course the question is if that is ever a valid artistic aim.
The repeated screaming of "resurrect my son" on Pamela made me fucking cry
This song is written from the perspective of Jason Vorhees mom Pamela. It’s fucking great
@@seanarterberry4365 especially great because raygun their frontman called it friday the 13th fanfiction haha
it’s so weird to me that this is one of the most popular sludge metal albums as of late, as it’s so fucking horrific and inaccessible. very cool seeing music like this get popular outside of just the metal scene, though. one of the best albums from last year
It makes sense, sludge metal tends to sound like that. Mastadon are the exception for the most part.
@@draylexdoom9243
good point lol, i just kinda find it funny that people outside the metal community are listening to an album that has lyrics from the perspective of a oklahoman serial killer
@@himbokoopa I mean, it also has a lot of ties to noise rock, which is a nice bridge between the metal scene and Pitchfork/non-metal music fans
I don't think its very confusing that more of the general public are listening to this people who are supposedly " normal " are increasingly attracted to things that are disturbing ie serial killer documentaries ,shows on Netflix plus without sounding like a dumb ass take a look around at the world as of late its a fucking mess, that being said i actually like this band and this lp and their ep,s the music and lyrics are really good however while it's somewhat cathartic to listen to, to a point its also extremely disturbing i can't listen to this every day but thats kind of the point of good art its supposed to elicit a response from those consuming it and lets be honest whether someone is into sludge metal or noise rock or whatever you'd like to call chat pile the music will definitely elicit a response good or bad lol
@@draylexdoom9243Mastodon in the sludge era were fucking ruthless. They have a FAR more mature and proggy sound (better prog than Tool for sure) but goddamn early Mastodon was something else
Actually the best thing they've done, seriously. My favorite line off of the entire album is "OPEN THE FUCKING CASH REGISTER BEFORE I KILL EVERYONE IN HERE." From The Mask.
The Mask? Why would Dream write those hurtful lyrics!
@@elivandrisse that’s what the point of the mask is
@@elivandrisseDream is a hardcore metalhead obviously! :)
Glad to see this band getting the recognition they truly deserve. I discovered them through their Remove Your Skin Please EP and I can't stop recommending them to people since then
Dallas Beltway is the song that hooked me in.
facts. heard garbage man and became an instant fan. every single one of their songs are amazingly brutal and unhinged
@@Rowe4900candymachine Dallas beltway is my favorite song of theirs, it’s one of the scariest songs I’ve ever heard
I can't believe chat was piling on Bradley for saying he was wrong about Falling In Reverse. 😞
His life is like a video game
Okay that one’s pretty good
Hi jasho
@@warwillkill Hello.
unfortunate rare brad L
I saw them live last month, I think the listening experience is only enhanced by knowing their vocalist takes his shirt and socks off before every show
He should do crack before too
Like makes a point of removing them onstage?
I'm seeing them in August. Can't waaaiiittt
@@brushwagg7735he throws them into the crowd and the person who catches them wins and gets to keep them
I see he belongs to Matt Pike school of sludge metal vocalists
I feel so lucky to have played on the same stage as these guys. Us Oklahomans don’t have much going on outside of country in our music scene, so having these guys repping the OK underground makes me very very happy. This album encapsulates how it feels to have the views these guys do in a state who’s political system completely goes against them. I love Chat Pile.
Y’all have an incredible scene rn!! Cursetheknife, Money, Mad Honey, Limp Wizardz, my band came and played the sanctuary last year, always have a great time visiting OKC’s music scene!!
11:10 Sirloin Stockade is regional restaurant chain and when my sister was in high school she worked at the one in Okmulgee, OK. Her coworkers would have contests to see who could find the most roaches. I think the record was 18 in one night
Had the immense pleasure to see these guys live with Lingua Ignota last month and the lead singer talked about his fascination with horror films and how influential they are. "Pamela" is literally the story of the first Friday the 13th lol.
Also anyone who ends up digging Chat Pile's work has to see them live. Their bass is on another level in a live setting
If you enjoy this I heavily recommend Streetcleaner by Godflesh, it pioneered this sludge noise sound that has recently gotten popular in metal, also the album sounds like terminators stomping you to death while the world gets nuked, so that's a good time
Chat Pile is kinda like if Godflesh was made up of sketchy dudes that hang out next to dingy 7/11’s that talk to themselves and probably snort bath salts
Godflesh rules. I personally love Pure. There is so much great industrial metal music out there
Related to that, I'd recommend the first couple Jesu projects, which is Justin from godflesh. The first album in particular sounds like mixing godflesh with shoegaze. It's beautiful and intense.
@@steveosk8s Also Techno Animal is another amazing Justin Broadrick side project, their final album Brotherhood of The Bomb pretty much pioneered Industrial Hip-Hop
He has already listened to early Swans bruh.
I love deathcore and extreme metal, this was one of the heaviest and scariest albums I have ever experienced. absolutely doom filled. Its like being covered in poison chemicals in a dark cramped factory.
Agreed. It's like the audio equivalent of watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Awful, dusty, wrong. Most metalcore etc. reminds me more of the Saw franchise.
WHAT IS THAT FUCKING EMOJI
I’m from OKC and have played a show with these guys here! The front cover is the county jail down here in downtown OKC, I pass by it everyday on my way to school. What I really love about Chat Pile is how they capture EXACTLY what it’s like to live in Oklahoma. Yes, it’s really that bad, even worse than Ohio. Either way, Super cool to see some of my peers in the local okc music scene making it big!!
The scene in OKC is so good right now it's crazy.
glad you liked this! in some interview i remember the vocalist referred to the band as a "cultural trash compactor," which after examination of the lyrics makes a lot of sense. personal favorite examples include ratboy and crawlspace from the this dungeon earth ep
Crawlspace is so good
I loved this A LOT. If you liked this, especially the dark angry suicidal lyrics, I would HIGHLY recommend Buster by Admiral Angry. My favorite song off of it is Plastic Bath, the drums are just fucking massive and the screams are utterly insane.
A good band like admiral angry and this kinda is toadliquor and they're great
Just found that Admiral Angry album recently too. So dark and atmospheric
sludgecore my beloved, gaza and black sheep wall are fantastic as well
I'd also add black sheep wall's I am god songs as a rec for the same reason
Buster goes so ridiculously hard it should be illegal. I love that album so much
As much as I enjoy seeing the new Worst Song Ever Made videos it was refreshing to see such a stellar album get some love. Definitely checking this band out now
The mask is so incredibly disturbing and eerie as its about a dude who robbed and executed employees at a restaurant here in okc called sirloin stockade in 1978. Hence him screaming it over and over.
Had the amazing pleasure of catching these dudes locally and it was such a good show. Just as disturbing live, but they're rly cool dudes. Stoked you dug the album. Their other eps are great too.
Their local OKC shows are so good
This is one of the most terrifying and brutal albums I’ve ever listened to.
And I *LOVE IT.*
Having found Chat Pile through Bandcamp in like 2019-2020 I’m so glad they’ve blown up like they did! I criminally replayed Remove Your Skin Please because that project has some of the most depraved and incoherent vocals I’ve ever heard, like Dallas Beltway. Well worth a listen ✌🏻
I saw them play with Lingua Ignota at the Stanley Hotel a couple weeks ago and it was incredible. Go see them.
I would like to thank “Ian Harmon” in the chat at 2:15 for pointing out the car crashes they share on Twitter I have been laughing for the last 10 minutes scrolling through and seeing multiple times a month someone crashed into a building
This is the only time I've stopped listening to an album because I couldn't understand how it was making me feel. Just the first track is so fucked after it finished I was just standing in my kitchen for a few minutes trying to process it
I enjoyed reading this comment
This is honestly how I felt when I listened to Why and I Don’t Care if I Burn
If you like "chat pile", you should consider checking out "Full of hell" & "Code Orange" bc they are scary AF sounding... Thought I'd let you know
Love this album and it's legitimately something I simultaneously love getting lost in those screams and the lyrics. They're really damn dark and listening to the lead singer weave in and out of agonizing yelling into this like drunken tired stupor just really unsettles me. It's like he's having a mental breakdown (about some pretty meaningful stuff too) and there's a band just there to play music on whatever he wants to go off on.
Dude this album is sick, I would have never known abt it if brad didn’t make this video, so thank you :)
I wanna see you react to From Mars To Sirius by Gojira. It's an amazing metal album, and I can't get enough of it
Whoever likes this album should definitely also check out David yow projects like scratch acid and the Jesus lizards
The OG yes
CHAT PILE IS SO GOOD i recommend their entire discography PLEASEEEE
This album reminds me of Yodh by Mizmor. It consists of 5 tracks that span about an hour and combines doom metal with black metal. When just listening to it without songtext on, the vocals sound like primal cries of despair. It's great.
I listened to the first track, it reminds me of Ethereal Shroud and Wolves in the Throne Room which was cool. It sounds like the guitars are tuned to A or lower, which is cool because you don't see a lot of black metal bands going that low. I'm not really into the drone/ambient elements though.
I think you'd like Trisagion by Ethereal Shroud, it's three tracks and runs for an hour, but it also combines doom with black metal.
@@TheRealJoeNathan Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check that band out 🤘
As a fan of sludge. And I love me some dark, depressive, angry, dirty atmosphere in a album hits me in the soft spot. This is honestly the best kind of music for alot of angry folks who want something more than your typical death/metalcore songs. This band could be my favorite modern metal bands I actually dig. This is incredible. It has so much noise and anger. It's beautiful
so glad a band from my home state (Oklahoma) is getting some attention! it’s not just flaming lips and garth brooks lol
You like Cursetheknife? Check them out and also Black Magnet and Money.
@@creekandseminoleI got to play with both Cursetheknife and Money last year! Sev (singer of curse the knife/bassist of Money) used to fill in on guitar for my band on tour!! That was back when his band was “brooding” great guy and great music scene y’all have rn!!!!
HOW DID YOU KNOW?! I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS ALBUM LIKE 10 MINUTES BEFORE I GOT THE NOTIF! BROOO!OOO!OO!O!O!O!O!O GRIMACE SMOKES WEEEEEEED!!!!!!!
So good to see you covering this album.
YES been waiting for this review, fav album of last year
I watched the livestream, but im gonna watch through the whole video to give bradley that ad revenue and algorithm juice
Pamela is incredible. The atmosphere just gets under your skin like nothing else.
I just listened to this and it’s so fucking good I’m so happy you uploaded this
Can’t wait to see the video of the masterpiece album you listened too after this one
this album is great to listen to right before a good nights sleep
I'm very intrigued now in if Brad has ever reacted or listened La dispute
Oof, that'd be amazing. I just saw them play in Berlin, for the Wildlife 10 year anniversary. King Park hits me so hard live, everytime I've seen them play it.
@@PearLock haven't go to any of their concerts, but I bet it would be an experience
@@MrCacheo If you get a chance, hiiiighly reccomend. I've seen them 3 times. Try to catch them anytime I can.
Cheers!
Brad, you need to react to The Unseen by Quasimoto. Straight up one of the best rap albums I've ever heard.
what did you think of this album? I know you dont tend to listen to this style of music but Im curious to hear your opinion
@@elephantcubed4133 It's interesting.
THATS WHY CHAT PILE IS THE MVP, THATS WHY THEY ARE THE GOAT
THE GOAAAAT!
That first time I heard "Why do people have to live outside?" made my stomach drop.
I love this album so much. i legit have a massive banner of the cover hanging in my room.
Ya gotta love to see more Oklahoma rep, feels good.
This is surprisingly interesting. I usually don't like that drone-y creep in a boiler room sound but these dudes is on to something. That quiet kid listens to Korn and Limp Diksimp.
I've been really struggling with OCD stuff lately, and this album has really been helping me confront and process a lot of dark intrusive thoughts. Going to see them in a few days. Gonna try to resist the urge to punch myself in the throat during grimace smoking weed.jpeg
the song slaughterhouse reminds me a lot of the song horse latitudes by the doors. it's a spoken word poem by jim morrison about a ship stuck out at sea forced to jettison their cargo- horses. it's gutwrenching on first listen, hearing the screams of horses as they're pushed overboard and drowned
Your reaction to Why, joking about unrelated things, is very telling
This goes hard! Goddamn, I love the heavy bass!
Hell yeah. Do Gilla Band next.
Trent Reznor been real quiet since this dropped.
one of the best albums of 2022 for sure
I HIGHLY recommend Morgondagen Inställd I Brist På Intresse by: Apati, A very good back/depressive metal album but is surprising easy to listen too especially if you like this album
brad needs to hear loathe - i let it in and it took everything NOW
love this album haven't listened for a few months thanks for reminding me
mad respect for the tim hecker and autechre jams
One of my favorite metal records of 2022 for sure.
screams in these songs are so satisfying like i also wanna go in a deserted place or a soundproof room and scream
if you haven't please listen to Remove Your Skin Please I think it's only 4 tracks but some of Chat Pile's best stuff
This album is absolutely amazing, love it so much
I'm from Oklahoma City where they are from and the scene just seemed to blowup because of them and some other locals like Cursetheknife, Downward, Black Magnet, Money, and Mad Honey.
Since you like industrial and noise stuff I hope to see you react/review some of HEALTH's catalogue.
Youth Code also
Let's go we got it
one of my fav albums of 2022
Bradley when are we getting a full Spiderland review?
Brad, when are you gonna listen to Most Normal?
Horrifying, Disgusting, but also INSANELY GOOD!!!
just like you tho...
I would love to see Brad react to Too Dark Park or Last Rights by Skinny Puppy. That would be amazing
Would be interesting if u react to Linkin Park's discography someday
one of my favorite albums of the last decade
LETS GOO
I recommend checking out the album Wisconsin death trip by static x
This is better, but Ken Mode latest album is a lot like this, a bit more heavy, it's also disturbing and has some sax.
Chat Pile opened up for Ken Mode in OKC recently
My favourite album of 2022, alongside Meshuggah - Immutable and Nu Genea - Bar Mediterraneo (for something on the complete opposite side of the spectrum haha).
This is the musical equivalent of slowly drowning in an ocean of tar, and I mean that in the best way possible. If it wasn't for Ants from Up There, this would be the best album of last year.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Pamela is about Pamela Voorhees which makes the song that much better for me lol. Chat Pile is straight up one of the most unique bands in heavy music rn so if you get the chance to see them live definitely do it!
i wish i could see ur first reaction to the last track
This was my 2022 AOTY with the closer being my SOTY.
Some might ask if I'm okay to which I respond: "SHUT UP! LEAVE ME ALONE PURPLE MAN!!!"
This title is how I feel every time I watch a Meatcanyon video
I just listened to this album!!! A great record,
where can i see the full thing
I saw then at The Stanley Hotel last month and they tore the whole house down, it was an insanely good show
Brad needs to listen to Streetcleaner by Godflesh
finally you reacted to it
You know a bands good when their logo is incomprehensible and looks like a sigil in the Ars Goeita
Awesome album. I already posted this somewhere else on your channel, but check out 'End Position' by Street Sects if you want more craziness.
I LOVE STREET SECTS OMG
Morning Brad Army!
*hoohas snarkly*
You seriously need to give sleep token another shot Brad. Listen to The Summoning and tell me it’s sleepy
He's listened to it on almost every stream and he streams like 3 times a week every week.
It never gets less boring.
FINALLY HE’S DOING IT! 🎉
yess someone reviewed chat pileeee
This sounds like Meat Canyon doing an impression of Daughters
😂 I hear it
This feels like if daddy by KoRn was an entire album
where does the hopsin thing comes from
if la dispute was actually hard
Chat Pile is Oklahoma’s best export, the oil is whatever
Was not expecting that reaction to why?
New spoon, stolen is my favourite lyric ever.
