Sammy just was an unfortunate victim of the late 90's Prime Time Animation Boom that ended in a slew of short lived, often forgotten series. Sure, two of those series did manage to stage comebacks, Family Guy and Futurama, but that was because of cable channel reruns. It sucks Sammy never got license rescued by [adult swim] the way those two shows, Home Movies, and The Oblongs did. At least the last two have a cult following. I've yet to get the chance to actually watch Sammy, though, but my interest is high.
At first I seriously thought Gabor Csupo was involved with “Sammy” because the character designs and general art style look partially SO MUCH like his stuff. I’m honestly shocked he’s not affiliated with this.
Man, I can't imagine finding some old movie you have, saying "What ever happened with this, anyway?", googling it, and being greeted with the Lost Media search... I kinda wish that were me! gonna have to search through some old VHS tapes at some point
I just saw a tik tok using the blue prints footage and i was like "oh my goodness oh my goodness why is no one talking about this?!" but the wiki was already updated. Still i was surprised how it got knocked under the radar so fast
Another lost media topic including children's shows might be Jim Henson's Animal Jam. Someone told me about it a while back and I tried to find it, but it's not streaming anywhere and some episodes are lost aside from descriptions. Although apparently Tubi had it last year, they don't have it now. There's another Jim Henson show with a VERY similar name, but it's a completely different show.
i've vaguely heard of that before and it sounds really interesting! i'd guess it would probably be VERY hard to search for, at least in the beginning, because of the mmo with the same name.
@@zimternet It was pretty hard in the beginning but as long as I kept the Jim Henson part in, it helped. That being said, the search has hit a dead end at the moment because I am not good at talking to people.
I remember there was a cartoon that featured a kid in school with a tough as nails teacher, but he and his classmates were given a tough question to answer. The kid ventured through his imagination and discovered the answer was a letter. H? I? J? I don't remember it perfectly. I think it was a short featured on Oh Yeah! For sure, I think it's one of the best examples of "you never know how a piece of lost media is going to be found" which gives me hope for a lot of other topics that feel impossible to get.
I have a vhs tape of a cartoon called God the Devil and Bob and it’s like an early version with placeholders in the video. I bought it on eBay many years ago , not sure if it’s a lost media item. Let me know what you think

Here are some other possible differences between the pilot and final version of the series of Blue's Clues that we don't know about. 1. Sidetable Drawer probably wasn't sentient, as implied by Steve's dialogue when he gets his notebook out of his pocket. 2. Mailbox probably wasn't even in the pilot, because, if he was, we'd know it by now, because he would be right in front of the house, but, he isn't. But, I do think a character similar to him was in the pilot, possibly a mailman named Mike, who would deliver mail to the front door. 3. The elephants most certainly were not in the pilot, as they just feel like a last minute edition in the final version of the episode "Snack Time". 4. I think this was supposed to be the first time Steve met Blue, judging by the song "Can You Help Me Today?", and the first time Steve canonically played Blue's Clues, judging by his dialogue.
Yeah after seeing images of the pilot I kinda wish the final show went with that concept, I think it would have had a bigger place in children's show nostalgia.
I’m sorry they don’t make variety shows anymore. It would be a great way for new creators to cut their teeth, and indicate the animation companies actually cared about their fans.
Wait someone finally found something from Vic's Vacant Lot at 0:52? I had no idea until now. For a long time I think that's the only show in Nickelodeon's history that was completely lost to time. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned in this video.
I actually remember a possible lost media I remember as a kid, but i remember so little of it, probably not enough to go on. One of those "know it if I saw it" things.
@@TheDanishGuyReviews all I remember was that it was a Halloween cartoon, and I think a group of kids had to try and find some sort of macguffin, and were aided by another kid who, at the end, the twist was they were a ghost. I was really little so who knows if I remember it

Sammy looks like something that Klasky Cupo would make. It even jas that distinctive KC feel to it. Also, I guess the only thing that came out of the Disney partnership deal with Hampton was that the song got to air on Radio Disney, as I remember hearing it there back in the day when my local Radio Disney station was still on the air.
I watched that Hamster Dance film at 2am like a day after it was found. Literally every character in it looks like a Board Certified Sleep Paralysis Demon
I really enjoyed Sammy and it's a shame it didn't get a proper chance. Idk if it would have reached the popularity shows such as The Simpsons and Family Guy have. However, I think it was definitely enjoyable enough to have potenntially grown a fan base had it been given the chance to air properly.
there was a recent post I saw about "Dork Hunters From Outerspace" if you ever look in to that. I remember having what I think was a CDi Encyclopedia though it could be any Lazer disk system that I had. I remember it being a non-PC system that used CDs and was both education and had games Also I know of a few lost medias many from very local productions or from school classes on video production. How interested would you be in videos that only existed mainly in one county of one part of one state?
Former Applebee’s server and key-holder from 1997-2011. Applebees also used the Philips CD-i for training. I haven’t seen this referenced ever. Since it’s been over 10 years since I’ve even been inside an Applebees, I have no idea how to find these
If it hasn’t been thrown away it’s probably sitting in some office or closet at Applebees if I had to guess. Unfortunately you would have to find someone like a manager who would go look at their restaurant and would care enough to even try to find it.
Can you do lost PSAs and PIFs? Idk if there's any besides Hitogata but I'm very interested to see a video about them! Edit: there was actually one I saw on the tv tropes site about a missing domestic violence PSA from Portugal I think. It was called "And she lost hope". It was apparently a very graphic one but idk if it ever was aired. Never found it despite looking on their site
Honestly, so many pieces of lost media are just a matter of finding someone who happened to have a copy. JBVO, Pink Morning Cartoon, and Slamfest are probably perfect examples of that. Heck, Johnny Quasar had to be uploaded by the VA because the creators weren't even sure where they were! Also, the fact that the Nick Jr account called it "lost" really bugs me, since they know people want it but just won't release it. I don't even think there's any restrictions on having the rights to it, given that they actually showed clips of it, so there doesn't seem to be a reason to not release the full pilot. I don't necessarily know if it was anything malicious over just saying "people are looking for it, I'm sure they'd like to see some of the pilot", but it's still getting under my skin
Since other people are doing it I will talk about this lost media I have failed to search for years. It was a mod of Super Smash Bros Brawl that replaced Tabuu with a weird model of Marx, the music is Vs. Marx and the stage was changed to his original arena in Kirby Super Star. Marx's attacks were identical to Tabuu's but he lacks almost any animation, even for the shark blade where it was like Tabuu's but Marx was just dragged alongside it and the crystals in his wings. The only animation I remember is the Off Waves where he slowly spreads his wings and feet apart. Also the player was Kirby with the default skin.

14:18 recently I saw a post on Instagram that announced the 25th anniversary celebrations would continue on. Maybe the full pilot will get released soon as part of said celebration. It'd be cool if Nickelodeon themselves released it as a thank you to the old school fans, much in the vein of Steve's message from a couple of months ago.
Oh cool, I didn't know they were still doing promotion for the 25th. Actually I wonder how Steve feels about the pilot, maybe he'd petition for a release which could sway Nick into releasing it?
The Burger King games for the CD-i reminds me of the lost McDonald's DS training game that only had about 1 or 2 confirmed copies. It was found and archived accordingly, however only had releases in Japan and did not have any credits or release dates. I hope the rest of the Burger King games show up somewhere.

But what if you have personal lost media? Like a song that probably everyone else knows about but you can't think of the name, lyrics or who sung it. Only that it's a woman singing it, the type of music is r&b and how the song starts and the "chorus". What I think she's singing is" how can trust when I've been hurt before? How can love when I've been on my own?" And the beginning sounds something like "sitting in my living room thinking about all those times" the woman singing has a slightly deep edge to her when singing. It's almost how Beyonce sounds when hitting the low notes. And I'm guessing it was from the late 80s to the early 2000's (like 2000- 2009)
I think there is a subreddit for that kinda thing. R/ ‘Tip of my tongue’ or something like that. I’m not sure of what that song could be, but maybe someone over there could help you.

I wonder if there's something in the Blue's Clues pilot that Nick themselves no longer own the rights to EDIT: I went and looked at the clips and noticed even in the clips where Blue is present she doesn't speak. it would probably be pretty hard to air a Blue's Clues episode if you didn't own the rights to Blue's voice anymore 🥸
I think I found something. There's a PS2 video game called Technic Beat that is a sequel to a game I cant find any info on called Technictix. They both were released in arcades first but I've searched and I can't even find a picture of the cabinet let alone of actual gameplay. Anytime you find anything that says its Technictix, its always actually just Technic Beat.
time to start writing creepypasta explaining why Nickelodeon wont release the full Blue's Clue's pilot! ~While everything about the pilot was initially totally normal and innocent something disturbing was discovered when it was rewatched by those creating the 10th anniversary special. Certain scenes involving numbers or months seemed to have a strange fixation on the number 11 and the month of September. Gruesomely in one scene a boy states he was born in September and his favorite number is 11 while playing with a toy airplane and city set. The boy then states he is looking forward to the future as he smashing his toy plane into a toy skyscraper while making his best explosion sounds. The staff vowed to never release these scenes givin their implications and one of them also died that night after viewing the pilot~

It sucks Sammy never got license rescued by [adult swim] the way those two shows, Home Movies, and The Oblongs did. At least the last two have a cult following. I've yet to get the chance to actually watch Sammy, though, but my interest is high.
The Oblongs is so funny. Pity it never continued.
At first I seriously thought Gabor Csupo was involved with “Sammy” because the character designs and general art style look partially SO MUCH like his stuff. I’m honestly shocked he’s not affiliated with this.
Yeah, I thought so too! The art style just felt so much like a Klasky Csupo production.
@@GumSkyloard Absolutely
"partially so much"
My brain noticed that, but I didn't.
@@hypnotised-clover it's Everett Peck style! He created Duckman and worked on other Klasky Csupo project
My favorite thing is seeing all these mysteries finally getting solved
that sammy show is as old as me literally. i was born august 8, 2000. love weird little coincides like that
There were a lot of weird animation shows then. I remember one about some hollywood producer, I think Sting was a recurring character or something.
Also the fact that some legal complications is keeping us from getting some lost media content is total unfair....
Man, I can't imagine finding some old movie you have, saying "What ever happened with this, anyway?", googling it, and being greeted with the Lost Media search... I kinda wish that were me! gonna have to search through some old VHS tapes at some point
Its so cool to see some new lost media🤩
Super glad that lost media community is bigger. More people to help!
I just saw a tik tok using the blue prints footage and i was like "oh my goodness oh my goodness why is no one talking about this?!" but the wiki was already updated. Still i was surprised how it got knocked under the radar so fast
Love how one of the Super Why screenshots was the Protogent CGI commercial
Cartoon! or What a Cartoon back on Nickelodeon.
I remember! Is was H!
@@Caliman3soom What was the cartoons name? I've been looking for it forever!!!
On new years day of 2022, a cancelled prototype of a Gameboy color port of San Francisco Rush: Extreme racing was found.
Excited to watch this.
Love this one! had no idea most of these had been found / partially recovered!
Yeah it's crazy just how frequently content can be found, especially certain searches that you think might take years to get ahold of!
man I thought the hamster movie would be impossible
actually insane how she managed hold on to it for so long
That blue prints pilot is awesome to me, Blue’s Clues was my childhood
I just found you and you're my new sleeping aid, in a good way. I've seen all of DYKGs hour compulations now you have so many. I love it
that finding of the Hamster movie story is fucking bonkers. the odds of that working out so perfectly like the are a million to one or something.
For sure, I think it's one of the best examples of "you never know how a piece of lost media is going to be found" which gives me hope for a lot of other topics that feel impossible to get.
Love when my brudda blesses my evening with a video
yayy it made me so happy to see all of Sammy’s episodes be found ^.^
I have a vhs tape of a cartoon called God the Devil and Bob and it’s like an early version with placeholders in the video. I bought it on eBay many years ago , not sure if it’s a lost media item. Let me know what you think
Not lost full thing on RUclips
It aired on Adult Swim sometime around 2011 actually. Though funny enough, before it aired there most of the episodes were unaired in the US.
I never compared it to full aired videos it could have some parts that never aired , I am not sure. It was a test vhs version. Anyway I thought it was interesting
I say rip it if you can - sounds like its a rare version
@@Zulf85 agreed.
I was wondering if OP has an early episode. Or maybe one that was nearly completed, but never released and instead kept on a kind of demo tape. If So, could be worth a butt ton.
I can’t wait for Blue’s prints!
You mean the Blue Prints of Blue's Clues?
Nice series, explained in a great manner. I hope that you will cover the Godspeed You! Black Emperor debut cassette that was found and released 27 years later, a holy grail for music fans!
"if you've been watching my channel for the past year or so....." How about all the Years L,I remember I even "joined" the search for A day with SpongeBob on the wiki. Love the content man, keep it up! I listen to it on audio when I'm at work.
The entire pilot of Jeopardy from 1964 has been found. It was once on RUclips then it was moved to Internet Archive.
I love Sammy. I became a “Sammyhead” as one of the other fans dubbed us. It’s funny as hell.
It's like finding a hidden treasure and having a long lasting satisfying feel to it.
Awww, pilot Super Why! looked adorable!
Go on?

Love this content for sure
Ah yes I will make sure to watch the Hamster dance movie and Rapsittie Street Kids every Christmas now
YOOOOO IM SO HAPPY THEY FOUND THE HAMPSTERDANCE MOVIE!! it was something i was looking for for 3 years at this point!! excited to watch it
I watched that Hamster Dance film at 2am like a day after it was found. Literally every character in it looks like a Board Certified Sleep Paralysis Demon
I seriously should do a watch party on stream sometime, I've only clicked around the video but I haven't heard particularly good things about it lol
I remember it being a non-PC system that used CDs and was both education and had games
Also I know of a few lost medias many from very local productions or from school classes on video production. How interested would you be in videos that only existed mainly in one county of one part of one state?
I am completely unaware what "Dork Hunters From Outerspace" is until Mr. Enter made an Animated Atrocity video about it a few days ago.
@@collaterale1 Same, he even joked that it's so obscure, he could've been making it up and people wouldn't notice the difference
Wow Burger King, Kmart and now Applebee's! I love how this rabbit hole gets deeper and deeper, thanks for letting me know more versions exist!

Can you do lost PSAs and PIFs? Idk if there's any besides Hitogata but I'm very interested to see a video about them! Edit: there was actually one I saw on the tv tropes site about a missing domestic violence PSA from Portugal I think. It was called "And she lost hope". “Sammy” looks like a Klasky-Csupo production, except not ugly.

Finger crossed the “Saban Moon” pilot will en found this year 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Is there a way for me to join the wiki? I have some pretty old dvds that I'm sure is lost media
If I don't I'm just gonna help join the search
Your vids are cool!
They know
I like you videos i think they are very fascinating, to see people that are that dedeicated to dig up theses pieces of lost media.
This might be in the video for all I know, but do you know about the Nigel Thornberry's Animal World script?
Do those "claymation" segments in JBVO even count as claymation? The clay figures don't even move.
Wicked City/Sam was also recently found. The only thing available for a while was the soundtrack. It had been lost for over 20 years
11:00 I REALLY want that Sears Training game for some reason I can't explain
theres a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards promo from 2014 that has been a burning but permanent memory on my mind forever by now. It features music that will be at the awards and Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball plays for a couple seconds except it's the cast of Sam and Cat singing it or from I remember it was specifically a character from the show named "Goomer"
if any has any footage of the promo ad please tell me so I can finally have that off my mind

@@calypsofox6869 Yeah but I don't have a reddit account. And I'm a bit nervous to create one

I'm not sure if that's what you were nervous about specifically, but I'd say it's worth giving it a shot.
I've seen threads on the forums that discuss personal lost media before and it even gets brought up in the discord server too. The community is really accepting of all kinds of lost media so don't let that prevent you from sharing it around.
Maybe people here can help me with a book from my childhood. Google was no help. It's about a boy looking for teeth in his community to create a set of dentures. I wonder if there's something in the Blue's Clues pilot that Nick themselves no longer own the rights to
EDIT: I went and looked at the clips and noticed even in the clips where Blue is present she doesn't speak. it would probably be pretty hard to air a Blue's Clues episode if you didn't own the rights to Blue's voice anymore 🥸
I hope those other burger King discs are found.
time to start writing creepypasta explaining why Nickelodeon wont release the full Blue's Clue's pilot!
