@@PolymerJones hey Paul! Thanks for pointing this out, at some point in the last 3 years, we’ve had to update our pricing - and didn’t notice some of the older comments with older messaging. Cheers mate! Appreciate the support. Happy to do 1:1 sessions if you ever need specific questions answered that you can’t find on the channel or YT. But definitely keep diving in. They really tried hard to make Luna work like a traditional console workflow. So think of signal routing - and follow the path from input to output and that usually will take care of the rest of it. Dude that was a great explanation and walk through. I've struggled with this concept and watched UA videos, read the user guide, watched other videos and not one actually showed or gave an example of how this fully works. Great job, thanks for going this!
not entirely, I mean - you have to designate what ones are the cue outputs upon setting up core audio. and then you'll still have latency as expected since it's not Apollo based monitoring anymore.
I've noticed that my Apollo cues stop working when I switch to Core Audio mode. Cue selection stays the same, but I get nothing when I try to use the second interface. Can't figure it out...
Their hardware will give you the "ARM" function, which is the real-time monitoring function. You can still create cue mixes, and utilize luna like a daw with another interface - However, you'd still be open to latency, just like any other daw at that point. UA's marketing team needs to either have a come to Jesus meeting or be fired at this point lol there are so many asterisks and fine print that is misunderstood due to the marketing team. lol Now you mention gig performer... 1. define that.. 2. what about it? that's so vague that I'm not sure where you might be going with the question. Cheers Mate!
@@toddchmielewski9431 Depends on the interface. You have to manually route cue 3&4 to an output that you specify. On the Apollos it would be the line outs on the back.
Great video, can i ask how i get the sound from my mixing room into my live room? I normally use ear mix by persons but ive gone back to UAD and have invested in an X16 I also have a Twin. Thanks
Good question! So are you referring to monitoring mixes? or mic cable runs? you could literally kind of handle it both ways.. the utilization of a patch bay. would be highly recommended. you get a balanced XLR snake for both inputs AND outputs on the Apollo. at that point, you could route almost anything anywhere. sure - you could also use the ADAT, which has it's perks but it really depends on how much I/o and how complex routing you really need.
@@TheSteveKinney Thanks Steve, all going well just cant hear the vocal when singing into the Mic. I can get full control of the individual tracks now though so thank you.
I don't speak English. I hope you understand me. My problem is that when I need to create a stereo mix through the headphone output, I only have two options, MONO and MIX. Obviously I need the effects and some sounds to be able to sound in stereo, but that's not the case. even if i try to pan some sound it still sounds in mono. ¿I am doing something wrong? i have apollo twin x quad. Unfortunately I have to be listening to the same thing that comes out of the monitor output by choosing the mix option
Hey mate! 1. you'll wanna be in "mix" mode THEN... just a heads up... if you put reverb and stereo effects on a channel in console or in luna.. that source is a mono source, and the channel is mono... so you wouldn't be able to pan necessarily within the plugin.. so you have to make sure your reverbs and delays are on aux channels, which are stereo. also double check that you're not in "console tracking mode" cheers
Unfortunately, aggregate systems aren’t available on Luna at this time. You’d just have to do a mix down and have your Apollo turned off. Or likely, not sure, but probably use some extra software like loop back. Don’t quote me on that one though. Cheers mate!

Super glad you enjoyed this one Roger!
As usual - I’ll be making these as Luna updates.

Another great video!
I'm here as a producer/artist for luna you make great video content already subscribed 😃
Dude, thanks man! Anything else you’d like to see on the channel?
Excellent tutorial on creating headphone mixes, Cues, in the real world!
For real! I try to make sure that all of my videos are very real world situations and not in a vacuum.

This is great, thanks so much for putting this together!
Thanks so much mate!
Can you automate 3rd party plugins in Luna?
Awesome Video!

@Steve Kinney ,
Are there any differences in the cue mix setup with Luna using Core Audio? That topic is on my mind with the Core Audio update.

Hey Steve do you find that in general Luna is more sluggish at loading then logic is? I’m definitely finding this

Yeah - here and there.
Some projects load quicker than others.
