I love bill burr but he has no idea how hard working in the fields is like. Being from the Central Valley in California I know first hand how strenuous it actually is. California actually offered citizens 20 dollars an hour plus benefits to unemployed citizens to work the fields guess what happened all but one lasted more than a day. Immigrants feed and maintain this country and what do we get for such work, getting demonized from the right and get used as a political prop from the left.

Nah he's actually got legit knowledge, I definitely wouldn't call him a hardcore fan, but he's definitely got above average knowledge of the sport. He will often talk about foreign fighters, or undercard fighters, and know them and their lives fairly well. So not a casual, but I don't think he has the in-depth knowledge of the sport some of the hard core fans like myself have. Definitely way more than the bible lmfao.
As a UFC fan, Trump was actually very important to the beginning of the sport because it wasnt always legal meaning they had a hard time finding venues that would allow MMA fights. Trump held a ton of events in the early days of the company but when you actually ask him about what goes on in these fights hes clueless. He knows the fighters and has an understanding of what a punch or takedown is but he'd have no idea how to explain whats happening while a fight is actually happening. He knows the behind the scenes, not the actual sport aspect.

Bill was a blue collar warehouse worker, and that mentality never left him. He is a friend to the working class that doesn’t carry himself like he’s better than them.
He had that job for a month, if my memory is right.
He worked with his father, at his dental practice, for years. That was almost what Bill did, before he got serious about stand up.
I’ve heard him talk about working a warehouse too, but he didn’t work there long.

I clicked, because I was curious what he had to say about Burr.

He has said numerous times over the years how much he loved Norm MacDonald’s monologue after getting fired from SNL and then being asked to host it shortly after. He should’ve let Norm have his place as the monologue troll and he should’ve left his own mark. It’s probably the cringiest thing I’ve seen from him.
don't get me wrong I like Bill, but many times my first thought when people say stuff like that is that you have no idea if those same people who push their way to the front past marginalized groups are the same people who defend marginalized groups. all you see is what they look like, and assume it's the same people. the ones pushing their way to the front could very well be the complete opposite of the ones who play defense, but they look the same so you'll never know

I don't think it's a Liberal misconception. I think there a lot of people who wouldn't pick apples unless you were drastically overpaying them. And most would probably just use it as a transition. That's not saying "no one wants to work" like the Conservatives do. The ones who wouldn't do those jobs are the main ones complaining. The people who would do the work aren't complaining because they understand just wanting to work. The problem is you have conservatives trying to turn those people against each other or convince us that some jobs have less value. Is it only Conservatives? To be clear, it isn't just that Americans won't do those kinds of jobs for low pay, most Americans just won't do those jobs, period. There was an asparagus grower who had a field that was going to rot so he tried to get people to come out to pick the asparagus for free, and they'd get to keep it all, and very few people came out. If you listen to these migrant workers, they'll talk about how occasionally they'll get a citizen who gets hired only to quit later that same day because they can't keep up. Americans generally won't do this kind of work even if they're getting paid more. Obviously the workers should still be paid significantly more, and those that want to should be able to gain citizenship, but they should at the very least be granted some kind of legally protected status so their boss can't threaten them with deportation.
There's no way you compared a livable wage to getting to keep some asparagus.

My point is that there are a lot of Americans who are literally unwilling to do a lot of the work that undocumented migrants do, regardless of pay. I 100% believe that those jobs should be paid more, but not inherently to try to bring more people into those jobs, but because the people working those jobs deserve to live in dignity.
Why would they show up, free asparagus is one of the worst incentives to do anything I've ever heard. But I bet if he offered like 100 dollars an hour he'd get plenty of help and they'd even let him keep the asparagus. Shitty incentives give shitty turnouts lol

It's funny all this talk about American's not wanting to do low end jobs that are paid nothing in their own country. As if outsourcing is not the back bone of a lot of industries, even good paying ones.
There's so much outsourcing happening in IT, paying indians and east europeans pennies and dimes instead of paying an American thousands of dollars a month to do it.
But nobody talks about that, you only look at immigrants and the low paying jobs. Capitalism only works because of outsourcing. Shut down outsourcing and you will see how Capitalism crumbles when you have to hire only people from your country for your country's wages.
You know what keeps Capitalism going ? A little communist country called China, let's see how the west could sustain their wealth and high revenue if China stopped doing cheap labour.
What are we even debating anymore ? People want to make money and pay their employees as less as legally possible and when that isn't legal, you go to other countries and hire people for dollars to do it.
But yeah immigration is the issue, not paying Americans better to pick apples. Yet most companies don't want to pay that kind of money even in well paying jobs and resort to outside cheap labour.
