I would love to see them take on duncanville this year from Texas, although duncanville is just a public school so it wouldn't really be apples to apples. Texas needs to make a private school and pull all the studs from the state. Then it would be on equal terms. But again, duncanville is a beast this year and it would be a great game.
California, Texas, and Florida have the finest football programs in the country. They continually produce the best players and D-1 prospects more than anywhere in the US.

It’s a scheme issue. Texas schools have big interior linemen and linebackers because most schools down there run between the tackles, pro style offenses. The top California high schools are all running the spread nowadays. The speed of their receivers and backs is a matchup nightmare for those big SEC country guys. They don’t have the stamina to run sideline to sideline every play.

For the average linemen is 240 now and the average rb they’ve had is 150-160 just saying we had a small team already and we were playing D1 recruits just saying the size and development of players has become smaller
Mater Dei QB has perfect protection and a massive pocket yet still can’t keep his composure to step into it… he either takes a sack or has to roll out in order to make a decent throw. Doesn’t have a future in the next level if he doesn’t fix that.
Per MaxPreps, yes. They started the season at 15. There is a huge falloff in Cali after MD, SJB, and Cen10. Mission Viejo is probably the next closest to those three, but that's really it. De La Salle has elected to not play the transfer game and has slid into regional power status.
Serra (San Mateo is ranked 29, Mission Viejo is ranked 31, Los Alamitos is 39, Long beach Poly is 50, Folsom is 67. There are a few more Parochial schools between them, Sierra Canyon, Rancho Santa Margarita, De la Salle, Orange Lutheran, JSerra. This is in the top 100 in the US
The schools are literally across the freeway from each other. It's up to the parents, student and the opportunity that each school provides. There are only 11 starters on offense and defense.
