    .............................................................
    We brought you our list of most unreliable cars, so now it's time to uncover the most reliable cars!
    That's right, we've teamed up with Warrantywise again to find out which car is the best for you to choose if you're in the market for a new set of wheels.
    One thing to consider though, just like with the least reliable cars, these are mostly older generation motors that saw their manufacturer warranty run out. Either way, are you surprised by any cars on this list? Let us know in the COMMENTS!
    Disclaimer: average repair costs collated over a period between 2021 and 2022. Since the sample was selected, Warrantywise has seen a significant rise in the price of labour and parts, which will impact future repair costs.

    As a self employed recovery truck operator for over25 years about 85% of my business came from German cars and Range rover. People often ask which cars are the most reliable, my advice was always the same "buy Japanese".(apart from Mazda RX8). Very few people took my advice, on the bright side I was always busy. Thank you Germany!!!

       @saidassimkus1133 Just traded my Skoda Octavia estate (bought because taxi drivers use them) in for a Toyota Corolla touring sports. The Skoda's fuel injectors were wearing out around 118,000 miles (legend says the engines can last up to 400,000 plus miles ?)causing the engine to idle very roughly, and I had spent £2000 to have parts of the suspension replaced to no avail, rattling again because of a failed bush. So rather than throw another couple of thousand at it I did some research for a bullet proof reliable car. The Toyota Corolla came up again and again, so I bought one. A superior car in every possible way.

    Being a technician and having years of experience with mechanical breakdown insurance (extended warranties) I can say that if the cost factor is removed the results would remain the same. I love German cars for their looks, sporty build, solid feel, etc. However when working on them you do notice that certain parts are not manufactured as robust as they were previously. Up to the mid 2000's German cars were bullet proof, but it started changing when they started going eco friendly. Trying to push more power out of smaller engines, using lighter materials. This started affecting the longevity of their parts. Forget about the gadgets and electronics. I'm taking about engine and transmission internals as well as suspension parts. Remember that not all German cars have tons of electronics. The VW Polo or Up, the A class, Audi A1 and 1 series did not make it on this list. The Auris for example has equal amount of tech as a mid spec Golf and even comes in hybrid. From the French cars on this list the Renault Kangoo is powered by a Nissan engine and the Peugeot is basically an Aygo. Japanese cars are generally built to last. If you see how Japcars are abused in some countries and yet they don't give up, you would throw in the towel on this argument. We not saying that Japanese is better to drive, it's just more reliable. Despite this if I had money to throw away I would definitely drive German cars just for the thrill. Like Matt mentioned in his previous videos like these, if you want to drive a car that's not boring, make sure that you know what can go wrong and take out an extended warranty if need be . If you haven't had any major issues with your car then that's great. 👍

      I always wanted E60 525-535d or E92 as my first car, it was my goal
      Driven some BMWs to see how they are to drive etc
      And they are really good to drive i admit, you sit super low and it just feels sporty
      Then i did a test drive on a 1st gen Mazda 6 and dear god i fell in love instantly
      It looks lowkey aggresive, its comfortable, its so fucking tight to drive and gives you confidence to throw it in corners at speed, the manual gearbox is really short and when you change gears it feels and sounds like you are reloading a shotgun lol you get that 'click'
      Even my friend that drives A6 fell in love with the gearbox
      And Mazda is one of the most generous manufacturers, i got everything on it except leather seats, which i am glad, and heated seats which i am sad it doesnt it have but okay
      Got all of that for like 1/5 of the price of a high milage, no specced, diesel E92 320d lol

      I don't live in America ou Europe, I live in Brazil, and the market here is really different, apparently. Here I own a manual VW Golf with a 1.0 turbocharged engine, with 125hp and 200nm of torque, I came from a CVT Honda Fit, that was sold here with a 116hp and 150nm of torque engine, an aspirated 1.5. I call the Fit "incredibly slow", because with the configuration of the market from where I live, it's 0-60mph was around 12-13s, when the Golf's 0-60mph is around 8-9s, the only Golf with better numbers than the one that you mentioned is the Golf GTI, that has a turbocharged 2.0 with only DSG gearbox, it makes the 0-60mph in about 5-6s. For more context, the last year of the manual Fit here was 2018, if I'm not wrong, and even the manual was slow, with the same engine.
      Here we also have a fuel called "ethanol", that usually gives more power to the engines, what's a negative point to the Fit. While the Golf gets about 10hp with the use of ethanol (in the 1.0, 1.4 and 2.0 engines), the Fit only gets 1hp.

    One pattern I certainly noticed was that none of these were considered high performance vehicles and there’s a good explanation to that theory, cars with more power to tend to put more pressure on the vehicles components such as drivelines,clutches,pistons,turbos the less power you have the lesser problems you come about and also the more simpler a vehicle is the less likely you are exposed to problems hence why all the vehicles with so many features didn’t make the cut for the most reliable vehicles.

I ve had the car since it was brand new with 0 km. 80.000 km later and the car never had an issue besides the air conditioning...they said it was a factory defect so they replaced it under warranty...the only downside was waiting for almost a month for the part to come. I own a 2017 Suzuki Celerio ( The Alto's replacement ) which I've had since new , in the five years I've been driving it the only thing I have had to buy is two front tyres which were an advisory on last years MoT . It has been garage serviced regularly and NOTHING has gone wrong with it , we've been to Scotland twice and Cornwall and Norfolk once each and it has never missed a beat . The engine is a 3cyl 1L and is just as sweet as the day I first drove it , the best thing about though is the economy - 72 - 76 mpg on a run and over 60 in normal use . I've never owned a car that has been 100% reliable before this one . It even has the original discs and pads on the brakes !! All they have required is adjustment .

      By a huuuuuuuge margin. Check ADAC ratings for example. They really just check how oftern they have to help people with a broken car. No care of pricing. This list is heavily biased :)

    • @Callhouse
      @Callhouse Год назад +9

      yes, massively. They just look at the costs of repairs and not the frequency of the breakdowns. Also cars used mainly for driving to the shops break down less than cars used for driving distances. These videos are complete crap. What should matter is how often a car develops a flaw per 100 000 miles. Or something like that. Not how much it costs to repair.

      @ralfrudi3963 Год назад +2

      Yes, cost seems to be the most important factor in their list (they made a least "reliable" cars list aswell). It makes sense from the perspective of the insurer because they need to charge more money if they are expected to pay more but from a consumer perspective those lists are useless. Reliable is not a synonym for "cheap" or "cheap to fix" but this is what those lists show. The video should be called "The cheapest cars to keep running REVEALED". Then it would be accurate.

    • @gechichan

      MX-5 is a well built car, but it has mostly simple parts. It greatness is because it is simple. Most "nice cars" are nice because they feature expensive and complicated stuff.
