It’s a good unit…you left out the “turbo” mode if you have that side lever you got the older gen I version without it…if you have the top slide button instead you push it up past the upper regular range (you have to hold it there) you get the full 500 cu ft high mode…it eats a battery in about 20 minutes but it really helps get leaves ect moving. A lot of times you can bump it there to get stuff un stuck and then let off to normal high mode once it’s moving. 👍 Look for the packaging with the free second 4 ah battery and you’ll get the gen II w/ turbo mode plus a free second $59 battery!
Bought one yesterday cause I already have a bunch of 24v brushless tools. To my surprise it came with a extra 4ah battery! Look on Lowes for 2 4ah batteries and charger and they run $150 alone essentially making the leaf blower free!
It's great for drying your hair if you're bald, but not much else. It lacks the power to blow freshly cut grass off a sidewalk. Have to wait several days until the cut grass clippings dry out enough for it to be able to blow more than half of them off the sidewalk.
Scott Cooper it lasted beyond 50 minutes for me. Every time I’ve used it, it runs 30 mins and still has two battery bars left. I have a lot of kobalt items. Drills, weed eaters, blowers, etc. The manufacturer is pretty darn accurate on their estimated battery life.
Battery life depends on how you use it - how far you pull the trigger. I was just at Lowe's shopping yesterday and took photos of the box. They now come with a Turbo boost button, which is what the current 500 cfm, 120 mph rating is based on. Holding down the Turbo button (full blast) the box says the battery would last 11 minutes. Instead of the variable "cruise control" lever it now has a 3 position cruise control (5 positions: off, low, medium, high, and Turbo while you hold the lever for that position). The box says up to 60 minutes on the low setting. So, in reality, assuming mostly high setting use with occasional momentary Turbo boosts, I'd assume about 20-30 minutes. One thing worth mentioning is that the box comes with a bonus (2nd) battery right now. The sales guy said that he believes that's only with the current batch and that the next shipment will go back to single battery. So, that doubles the life if you carry the extra charged battery. Price is $139, which seems like a good deal with that extra battery. I'm not done shopping and comparing, but might end up back at Lowe's for that deal after checking out Home Depot and Harbor Freight tomorrow. (Kobalt is Lowe's store brand, with 45 other cordless tools using that 24V battery system.)
I wish I could tell you. But I have not used the others. So I cannot comment on that. This one does a great job. It is strong. But to say it’s the best, I cannot.
@@rjguess thanks! That one does look great I’m trying to get a set. I have the lawnmower and weed eater for kolbalt. Now I just need the blower but the leafs in the front lawn have been stuck there for awhile and it’s hard to blow them out.
@@davidtauanuu3790 this one will blow them even if they are clumped. But it still is a little tough. I’ve blown gravel out of my driveway about half the size of golf balls. It didn’t blow them off easily. I had the nozzle about a foot from the gravel and it blew it several inches away. I hope that gives you somewhat of and idea of it’s capabilities.
Narrower nozzle would increase the mph air speed (same volume passing through a smaller aperture must go faster to keep the same volume flow), but the narrowed aperture would also add resistance and back-pressure on the blower motor, so might add a bit more wear and tear and lower the lifetime of the unit. Another option is adding 6 or 8" of the same diameter tubing. That won't increase the velocity but would allow blowing closer to the ground or to wherever you're reaching, just for better ergonomics and less back strain, and without adding hardly any resistance to the blower motor.
They have a 5 year guarantee on the blower and 3 year on the battery. Take it back to Lowe's. Sounds like the trigger switch stuck and might just need cleaning, but don't take it apart and try to fix it yourself 'cuz you'll then lose the guarantee which always assumes no tampering.
@@Chris.Rhodes Cool! Did they replace your older version with the new version (with Turbot boost), or did you already have the new version? Just wondering if you also got a free upgrade. I'm still shopping for a leaf blower. After Lowe's I finally went to Home Depot and Harbor Freight yesterday. HF has 4 leaf blowers: a low power one, the Bauer 20V, an Atlas 40V and an Atlas 80V. I noticed the guarantee is poor: 90 days. But the sales person/manager said you can purchase a 1 year guarantee for $12 or a 2 year guarantee for $16. That didn't impress me, but what she said next did, and surprised me. She said that it's a full exchange guarantee in which if you, for example, purchase the extra 2 year guarantee then you can bring the leaf blower back after 2 years (right before it expires) and exchange it for a brand new one, even if there is nothing wrong with it - just based on normal wear and tear. The only catch, which is very small, is that you have to purchase the 2 year guarantee again (for $16 or whatever the price is 2 years from now). I don't know how they can maintain that, but that sounds like a great deal, especially since they're always adding new features and increasing the performance. I need to go back and confirm it, and also ask if it's perpetual (can do it again and again every 2 years) or just one time.
@@rhmayer1 Yeah they replaced the blower with the new version. I love it. It's just like Auto Zone and Advanced Auto, I get my brakes and rotors from there, when they wear out, I take them back, and get brand new ones for free....how is that a business model!? I've been doing it for 10 years atleast, only pay for one set per vehicle, the next times are free after that! Screw paying a garage to do my brakes and they get the warranty and charge me every time!
