That pony grazed field looks very luscious. All the stock are looking very good. Enjoy your days away. Thanks for a great update. Galloways would definitely suit your system. Hardy breed
Thank you Marie. Sorry for late reply. A wee bit distracted of late. I'm definitely feeling more and more relaxed heading into winters now with the hardier beasts. I'll do one more cull before we open the silage 🤔
Welcome back and absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation documentary countryside adventure and as always beautiful gorgeous stunning footage camera work .. million thanks
Hi Sean, your cattle are looking lovely, they will be in nice condition going into the winter. The countryside is looking good, nice and green. Enjoy your holiday don't eat and drink too much LOL.
Well Eamonn thank you. The break was very enjoyable. Great to be back tooo though. I'm feeling winter ready . Early yet but after last year thing can only get better 🤞
Well Joel sorry late reply. I'm a wee bit side tracked . Yes he's doing OK. I'm not totally convinced on him myself yet. I may go completely different for 2005🤔
Watching late at a friends helping build a retaining wall. Cattle are looking great now is the time to put as much conditioning on them for the cold weather coming!
Saw a cool cartoon about the Galloway that it flies on the hill and skiers don't stop and just fly over them 😂 one of my favorite breed there. Should be good into the winter there so and here's a hope for it being better than last Have a good break
Thank you my friend. I think 2023 was a real challenge. I could really do with a dry winter this year. Thankfully the land has dried very well. So even if it a wash out its falling on firm footing 🤞
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 here's hoping - it's not that dry up here in Co Roscommon - but there's still a few weeks left if we don't have any repeat storms! :) A dry (shorter!) winter really would be lovely .... x Looking forward to seeing the ponies too :)
I suppose only thing is shorthorns will grow away next year too but galloways not so much looking at beltie beags heifer there from last year. The calves are nearly her size
Well Brian yes he's the son of last year's bull. He has improved and has the cows back incalf however I'm not overly joyed with the frame type he turned into. I am sure he'll throw calves better than him self but I'll go for something new next year
I’m always curious on the stockpiling fodder and grazing it short and whether you suffer later rather than trusting that it will regrow better if they are kept moving. Is there any research going on or is it all trial and error as I’m guessing it’s so difficult to gauge?
Well kieran. Ye I thought everything tbh. That could be my downfall too. I over think or rethink decisions made. I'm going to squeeze jasper in October. And most like buy in a complete outcross for 2025.
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 you need a plan and stick with it but also plan b and c 😁 a different bull is needed, hereford maybe? if maverick and jaspers calves are part hereford it would be interesting to see how they'd come out after that even though that would be a good while down the line too
Well John sorry late reply, but yes I can't say you are wrong. I have a lot of rushes the year. But it's been a super wet 2023 . She'll improve. Mark my words🤞

Good stuff
Welcome back, ruby threw some great calves didn't he, hard to believe their from the same year

Some difference in the calves,Ruby's calves are outstanding,I can eventually see you going all Galloway.
Your red galloway bill looks like he is maturing, isn,t he the bill you have used this season Sean.?

good vid 👍
did you ever consider keeping the galloway bullock as a bull for the cows he wasn't related to?
