Yeah. Jokes are fun and all, but it's disappointing when they're all laughing because of something Lupa said and miss something. Especially when missing it confuses them later on. Like damn if ya paid attention you'd know what's up. I appreciate that they don't spam pause like other reactors but still
Lupa is going to Hell for making fun of people being in shock due to a traumatizing event xddd. let's remember folks... not everyone reacts the same way to certain situations.
I'd just like to point out that in the manga, the dude looking for a boy with a cute face straight up handles Einar's "equipment" before moving on to others, and the slaver is just like "oh, THAT kind of slave".
Pretty sure they check the teeth for cavities and possibilities of a tooth infection. I think that woman on the boat had a tooth infection and it was affecting her brain.
Askeladd does truly hate Nordic warriors. It stems from his Roman-Celtic ethnicity/ancestry. Romans historically consider non-Romans inferior. This was INTENSIFIED on Askeladd's part because of the technological superiority of Rome. For example: Only Askeladd wore the Roman breastplate because the methods of crafting such armour were lost after the fall of Roman Empire(It wasn’t just to make Askleadd look fashionable). Similar situation with aqueducts, Roman formations, et cetera, et cetera(Rome was just too advanced). Imagine being Askeladd, living in the 11th century with basically 15th century technology. Imagine what he must have felt towards those around him. Askeladd literally considered them “pigs”. It’s much deeper than what can be explained in this short paragraph(I haven’t even gotten into what the Anglo-Saxons and Danes did to his mother/The Celts).
Havamål is kind of like Odins guidebook to life. It's a real thing, old as hell. It's pretty good though, Odins (or whomever actually wrote it) got a pretty good philosophy.
Ya know it is almost like in desperate and scary situations humans react in a variety of ways, including being shocked to the point of not being able to act. In fact, if you look at human history, human psychology and studies done as we have advanced that is the most common response in such situations. So yeah puff out your chest and beat on it all like "what're you doing?" when there is a better than 50/50 chance that if you were in the exact same situation as Einar you'd have reacted in the exact same way, real easy to talk a big game when you sitting in your climate controlled modern home without so much as even the smallest of daily worries anyone from this time period would have. Roshi, love ya but Lupa and Sheera really kill reactions for more nuanced series/moments.
Damn I forgot most of season 1 and I ain't rewatching all 20+ episodes again and yet I feel like I remember the necessary stuff anyways. This season gonna be deep from the looks of it, glad it's gonna be more character grounded rather than action
7:49 when einar was looking at the sea and it began to get twisted it reminded me of s1 when thors told thorfinn not to look into the sea it will hypnotize you
Season 2 of Vinland Saga has been slated for 24 episodes according to Blu-ray pre-ordering/listing information. Thorfinn is still the protagonist of the series, but Einar is definitely the deuteragonist of this arc. So something for anime-onlys to keep in mind. After season 1 (i.e. the Prologue arc), the Vinland Saga series stops being anywhere as near battle-focused, action-heavy, or concerned with political intrigue (at least politics focusing on monarchy). It becomes much more character study focused and historical fiction focused (for those not in the know Thorfinn is a fictionalized version of a real 11th century explorer/trader of the same name, who’s main primary sources come from two Icelandic Sagas histories). Also fun bit of trivia, this arc is often called the “Farmland Saga” arc of the series. But in addition to Wineland, one of the other common translations for the Norse word Vinland is literally “Farmland”. i.e. the most common name of this arc is literally just the series name but in modern English. Another bit of trivia about this episode, the first-half of it is an anime-original creation/expansion of Einar’s backstory (that is told largely by a couple pages of dialogue in the manga). Also in the manga the buyer who was looking for more “cute looking men” to buy as a slave actually copped a feel of Einar’s genitals (as part of the “inspection-process”). It was after that in the manga, that Einar made his first escape attempt.
Bro thank you so much for this❤ please do this for every episode because I’m an anime only and if i start hearing that this anime diverts from its original source i dont wanna waste any time and ruin my experience ill just start reading the manga cuz i really love vinalnd saga 👍🏽
King Sweyn(Svhen) of Denmark offered Askeladd a stark choice: the security of his motherland Wales, or the life of his master, Prince Canute(Can-oot). Askeladd's answer was immediate: He struck off Sweyn's head. The meeting of military leaders erupted into chaos after this act of regicide(the action of killing a King), but Canute recognized the play at hand, and killed Askeladd himself, thereby accomplishing Askeladd's aim. Canute immediately took the throne. But after witnessing the end of his father figure, Thorfinn was left empty inside. He was eventually sold into slavery to work on a farm.

in the beginning of the episode the narrator was speaking an old Norse poem in Icelandic, i was super suprised when i heard my own native language in an anime :D
Interesting thing to think about: Up until Askeladd died, Thorfinn was living as a viking warrior. Living his father's backstory, basically. Now he's a slave. Just like Askeladd once was.
If you guys are ever looking for a series to watch, I highly recommend "The Last Kingdom". Live-action and some similar things to Vinland but different as well
Any questions anyone has will be answered pretty quick in the next few episodes. And all I'll say is this - Vinland Saga has some of the best, most INSANE character development. Period.

Yeah. Jokes are fun and all, but it's disappointing when they're all laughing because of something Lupa said and miss something.
Especially when missing it confuses them later on. Like damn if ya paid attention you'd know what's up.
I appreciate that they don't spam pause like other reactors but still
@@DamienRoyan chill bro lol
The dororo opening part had me crying 😂
Can't wait for the full version of the ending to drop
So happy that Vinland Saga is back
Lupa is going to Hell for making fun of people being in shock due to a traumatizing event xddd.
let's remember folks... not everyone reacts the same way to certain situations.
nah its fun lol
Man Thorfinn looking older than he actually is is gonna be a running joke soon once they reveal it.
I don't think so, she was coughing like crazy and slave master checked the throat if it was swollen
I don’t think that Thorfinn himself saw him as one or thinks of him of as one, but he definitely was a father figure to him 100%
Hope Lupa doesn’t keep cracking jokes during serious moments it ruins it. It’s fine every once and awhile but he does it everytime.
Fr like literally all of the intro so far they aren't focusing a bit so
Nvm he's just never stopping
@@cluster4583 facts bro hope he notices 😭
I just hope Lupa can appreciate the serious moments instead of cracking jokes.
You really think he’s capable of that ??? 😭😭
He’s not gonna do that. He always tries sooo hard to be funny. Not that it is funny anyway 😂😂
He tries too hard tho, it kills the vibe.
You guys must be fun at parties hey. 😂
Not that deep
@@Sway_Boogie it is kinda annoying bro they always act like that😂 they expect every character to be emotion less sasuke and scream " MOVE " " RUN"
Lupa got that level 1 empathy lol, goofy ass
He took Damage Empathy 100 points too
roshi me and my partner dead ass did the same "party isnt over thing" our jaws dropped.
I just finished watching the season 1 playlist and daaaaang you guys upgraded the quality of your videos
Lmao I laughed so hard at the "Party is oveeer"
Damn I forgot most of season 1 and I ain't rewatching all 20+ episodes again and yet I feel like I remember the necessary stuff anyways. This season gonna be deep from the looks of it, glad it's gonna be more character grounded rather than action
the saga starts now, everything that happened before that moment was a prologue
7:49 when einar was looking at the sea and it began to get twisted it reminded me of s1 when thors told thorfinn not to look into the sea it will hypnotize you
Thorfinn attacked Canute at the end of season 1, Canute didn't want to kill him so slavery was the punishment
Hyped for this series and your reaction to it.
Lupa don't forget your clown makeup for next ep ✊️
Sure people grieve, but most try to move away from the incoming murder while it happenes.
Man, I'm so glad you guys picked this back up. This arc has the potential to be some of the best anime of all time (it is for me at least). It's very different from season 1, but I really, really, really hope you guys stick with it!
Roshi - visiting clapland with tourist visa
Roshi - citizen of clapland
Roshi - Running for office in clapland
oh my godd dude, editor you didn't have to do him like that 😭😭
I can't believe the show had me crying 😭 at the start of season 2
I just went back to start watching your season 1 reactions and god damn Lupa is not lying about the old studio having a mad echo 💀
Still finna watch it though, ain't tryna miss out on peak content
Editor , THANK YOU.
Let's goo starting off good , the op the ed the animation everything was amazing mappa going to Iceland embassy just for that intro was amazing
黒人が奴隷を笑うのか
黒人が人を虐待するドラマを笑いながら見るのか
黒人は自分さえ良ければ人が苦しんでいるのを笑えるのか
You misunderstood them, because you don't understand what they are saying
3 years is crazy…. Feels like I watched season one last year 🤯
This is truly the greatest seinen of all time, honorable mention to Berserk Vagabond and Kingdom though
Monters and Steel Ball Run too
Man i really wasnt expecting Thorfinn to be a slave bro.
Realizing I've been reading this for 3 years and the uploads are like every 2 months per chapter
Lupasan is such a jerk.What a bummer!
Lupa: there are a lot of black holes I fall into
Me:yeaaaah pause
lol i just watched the whole first season last weeek then went and watched u guys react to it! didnt even know season two was coming this is lit
in the beginning of the episode the narrator was speaking an old Norse poem in Icelandic, i was super suprised when i heard my own native language in an anime :D
Great reaction and review as always guys
This season will be one of the best and very emotional.
Live-action and some similar things to Vinland but different as well
„The season ended and they show us a bunch of random as guys“ when its Gardar and the boys
Sheera gon have a tuff time predicting the farmland saga if she still thinking thorfinn lookin for revenge 🙃
Why do you guys talk like that? Just say what you mean: "Sheera, Thorfinn is not out for revenge".
@@aureliusanderssen6779 it's just different ways of talking it's not a big deal. He isn't submitting an academic essay
Any questions anyone has will be answered pretty quick in the next few episodes. And all I'll say is this - Vinland Saga has some of the best, most INSANE character development. Period.
Bro, they made this manga come alive, like... I'm speechless, It's beautiful and It's everything I hoped in it
