    I have owned the little giant ladders for many years. I have just bought a gorilla multi-position ladder system. I believe the Gorilla ladder is a better ladder. Please want this video to see why.

    Good video, thanks, but I found that new Little Giant ladders like yours are different now. I compared them in stores on 5-16-2023: The locks on the Little Giant are now the same as the Gorilla; The Little Giant 17" model was now cheaper than the similar Gorilla; and the Little Giant 17ft model has leveling feet on one side.

      If the locking mechanism on the LG isn't lined up with the hole, you can bang on it all day and it won't go in. Just simply slide the inner ladder until the latch lines up with the hole. I don't see this as a problem with the ladder, it's end-user error.

    While Gorilla Ladder offers a lot of bang for the buck, I have to reconsider pulling the trigger on a purchase. It just doesn’t look very durable. All the rails, steps and diagonal braces are hole punched and riveted together, which gives me the impression that it’s prone to weakening over years of use.
    The Little Giant definitely seems much more durable and safe since all the pieces are welded together as solid assemblies. Little Giant is a bit pricier than Gorilla, but I think the extra durability and safety might be worth the investment.

    • @chicagobears9817
      @chicagobears9817 2 года назад +2

      I understand and agree with you regarding the Gorilla steps being riveted vs. the Little Giant being welded. However, I have never heard of any Gorilla ladder "failing" at any riveted connection. If I am wrong, please let me know. BTW, I have owned a Gorilla ladder for a year now and used it a lot during that time and love it.

    • @silentferret1049
      @silentferret1049 2 года назад +8

      Most the times those rivets are not going to give any bit unless you overload the ladder or try smacking it with a hammer and even then the ladder would start to bend. I have seen aluminum welds fail before the vivets. I have a costco version and it is welded and riveted (the one before they swapped to the uncovered end caps like the Gorilla) and looking at them both I would put more trust in a good steel rivet than light aluminum welding. Weld fail because they are thinner than you think they are at the joining area. Also the rivet would be easier to notice failure happening as it would get lose and then break vs a weld just breaking straight out. Rivets are also easier to replace. Welded spots are welded because there is not anything else to rivet it onto. Rivets mostly fail when they are used as hinge points as they wear through the rivet or the surrounding metal.

We are proud of our innovations on ladders and will continue innovating safer and better ladders.

      @Joel McFarlane I give honest review, not bad review, it is not a lie. I found Wd-40 helps but it is still much harder to lock compared to Gorilla ladders. But to be fair Gorilla is much newer. But not a lie smh

    I’ve had my little giant for about 15 years, it’s a much older model but about the same size as the one in this video. I agree with this guy I don’t like the new improvements on the little giant at all. It makes it much more difficult to use and adjust. Plus he’s dead on about hitting those wheels at the top of the ladder to open it up so it goes straight they are really hard to hit even on my older model. Now I do keep mine oiled with Endust like they recommended and to extend my ladder I’ve got half circles instead of levers to punch. I have to say that the gorilla ladder looks like a much better investment. And easier to use. 🪜

    He didn't have the little giant lined up that's why I didn't work and the he didn't move the ladder on the gorilla terrible comparison . Both ladders are worth the money there both good ladder just a bad video
