- It's been too long since I dove into this truck on camera, but there's plenty to be sorted out so let's get right into it. I'd also like to mention that there are numerous details and deep dives about the truck that I didn't get into just to keep the video a reasonable length- I've got many videos to make in the next two months that will cover everything.
In the video I mentioned a TON of links for the video description, so here we go...
All the best NOS parts from Pre 1960s Vintage Auto Supply, tell him Bare Knuckle Binder sent ya:

Here's all the info and registration for the Sierra Fall Rallye:

What a cool truck! Very good video. I am also a binder boy, we have K & KB models. And I have 1959 Willys 1 ton 4 x 4 pickup. Made that truck 1946 to 1964 with little changes, grill, dash gauges, ect.. All good stuff!
good video. I saw the video of you and Isaac, now I'm here. I appreciate your attention to detail and the effort you put into research.
@@phicks42 Thanks! Glad to have you along!
I really liked the first part of this video about the history and all the technical info! I have a 1984 Chevy K10 truck with the 4-speed granny low transmission, and it has PTO cover plates on both sides of the transmission. I may be able to help with your alternator belt issues - I had a similar problem once.... The belt's "sidewall angle" needs to match the pulleys. You can have a belt that is the correct length and width, but with the wrong angle, there isnt enough surface area for belt/pulley egagement. As the belt wears (faster because of less surface area), it drops further into the pulleys and becomes loose. Over and over. The answer is getting the correct type of belt, with the length, width, and angle all being correct. There are many belt types, and some parts houses will have incorrect listings. Something like an Eaton v-belt gauge can be of help, because the angle of the sidewall can be 34, 36, 38, 40, or 42 degrees. Until I got the right belt, I was constantly tightening mine. I hope this helps you! Keep up the fantastic work!
i,ve got a 1957 international s-120 4 wd got from our old ranch in texas ; still runs; great old truck.
@@terryravey2248 I used to have a S-120 4x4- I agree! Great trucks!
I hope your squeeze does the trip with you again, thats pretty cool she did 2500 miles home with you from california👍🏻
@@bustedford yep, she and both Holden gals are going along!
@@BareKnuckleBinder more women should go along on these sort of adventures and have some good fun and great memories. I enjoyed your videos on bringing claudette back to life then home and spending some good times with your girl, one day im gonna take the slow willys jeep on a grand adventure not sure it would be 2500 miles though😳😂. PS if it was up to me id maybe make the videos a bit longer grinding down the road with all them rattles thundering along at maybe 40ish mph is pretty entertaining👍🏻
@@bustedford that type of extended footage can be arranged! 😂
I enjoyed the video thanks. I am a iH man. Love those reds
My friend in high school was killed in one of those when a steering component broke and it flipped resulting in his death. It was super charged and the fastest thing in the high school parking lot. It was one cool truck but be careful in it. I owned a 73 scout ii loved it so much.
Awesome video as usual! Found your bands sticker in my local bar last week!!
I’ve got a 56 IH 4x4, considered selling it recently, but boy this is inspiring and I probably won’t now
Crank it up! Love to hear IH engines!
Coleman made these awesome offset Cab versions that carried Quickway Cranes, that you showed, I wish I could find one, they made a Million of em during the War, with a PTO Winch in front ,
I learned to drive in a 1955 IH 2WD truck. In line 6, oil bath air cleaner, three speed column shifter. It had a lot of character. Dad sold it before we knew it.
Had to sub you after i heard grass Valley California. Lived there for 64 years!
@@PAPAROUSwhatsinthedirt it sure is a beautiful place!
@@BareKnuckleBinder Yes it is
Talk about crazy, you named the truck.
My 52 dodge 1 ton PW has capability of pto to go frontwards which it is to bumper winch, and it had a plate on back of transmission too to power something back of vehicle. Glad to see your staying period correct.not too many people now days could drive and operate pto, ingage transfer case high low. There awesome to drive. Nice build!
Every winch I ever had on a full size vehicle was PTO, You could turn the tires and winch drum at the same time.. Their power was unwavering, the drawback was it took two people to operate and if your dead in a stream your not winching yourself out of it..
Sweet. Love your epic retrieval story!
Man I really enjoy learning all you know!
Nice unit
I just don’t have the spine to ride one ! Two spinal surgeries
I have 79 bronco I am working on .
Amazing that there parts for those old binders
I am on the Canadian prairie and see them a lot on the farms , Saskatchewan has them too
@@doubleduty1703 western Canada is an IH goldmine! I have a video a few back of a trip I took to Alberta to grab an IH bed.

I had a '65 1700 series 4x4.

Same set up as yours on the front.
I had it insured for "Pleasure use only".
Off roaded the bush into submission with it.
My daily driver until it rusted to death...
7:17 gears...5 spd, 345 cid..
Loved it...
Back and forth to work, groceries, pub....everywhere...short nose...
Slowest thing I ever drove in my 50 years of driving...and I LOVED every minute of it.
Looking forward to watching the videos you have.
I had an old Scout...like the old 67 Beonco.
It had a half of a v8 in it.
Thanks for jogging the head spaghetti...

Now , that's a truck, brother !
thanks for all the information. A fine truck.
Back in the daym a buddy had an 1960"s International Travel All. I ended up going with a 1963 GMC CArry All, woth the 305 V6, 4 speed 4x4, as my off road early truck. Onward!

@@kentkirkpatrick7953 Super cool! Those Loadstars with the Coleman axles were actually assembled on the International assembly line!
Cool truck still has the Paul smith dealership tag on it
To bad the wheels look hideous, really ugly in fact which is to bad
I've always wanted a KB-2 or KB-5. Our relatives used to have and international dealership
@@needsaride15126 I need to do more videos about my KB-2. They’re great trucks.
We had a KB-2 and KB-5 on a relatives farm. My aunt/uncle had a dealership many years ago. The trucks would get shipped to Pittsburgh PA. Then stored in a building there until shipped out to the dealership.
You forget to mention Willys Overlad "jeep" Trucks.Mine is a 1950 model 4-73.Factory 4wd rated one ton.
Pretty amazing, let me know when you are in the Dallas/ Ft Worth area.
Huh, 🤔. I didn't know "Johnny Knoxville" is into cool old classic trucks! Good for him. 😃. 🥴. 😜. 😉. 🙃
You could do balance beads if you can't find someone to use weights. They're like little BBs that you dump inside the tire, not as good as weights but better than nothing. Any truck shop should carry them.
@@bullislandborn yeah, I’ve considered them several times in the past but for some reason I still haven’t tried them.
Nice shirt buddy
It's an exclusive club!
Cheers from Toledo Ohio home of Willys Jeep Champion spark plug and Dana.

@@BareKnuckleBinder yes sir! Sadly many of our beautiful gothic inspired cathedrals and churches have been and are being demolished...
Watch out with different front/rear tire/wheel diameters. If overall front and rear diameters are not the same they can cause the transfer case to bind. I had just worn tread in front and new tread in the back of my K10 blazer (maybe 3/4 inch or so difference is all) and the transfer case did not like it! Killer truck you have!
This change is drop a Drop ALS scenario, get a frame. Because you know you're not gonna be able to get parts timer for International get. Some new Dodge is in a couple dollars. Parts change that puppy over all modernized it and look real good
@@JeronWhite 😂
You can watch the front drive shaft yoke leak at 18:00 mark.
I have a travel all same year,69 or 70 as your friends green one. Mine has the 345 v8
Um.. Jeep made factory 4-wheel drive pickups in 1952, ( starting in 1947 I believe). I owned a 1952, factory 4x4 Jeep truck for many years.. Willys Jeep was a pretty major manufacturer at the time. You can still find them for sale today! They even had a 4x4 wagon!
@@mattharlow5786 I knew the Jeep comment was coming, but to my knowledge they were kinda tiny in comparison to a full size truck?! Forgive my ignorance, I know I could be wrong on this one…
@@BareKnuckleBinderthere were stuck with the shorter beds, 6ft and some change, but did still have options that made it” 1 ton rated”

cool!
To balance your tires put Silica beads in the tire. This is how tires were balance in the old days. Need more information get back to me.
Take a look at the Studebaker US-6.
!
@@ourv9603 I prefer the International M-5H-6!
I’m still wondering what the issue was with the brakes dragging…
Had it narrowed down to either an out of spec check valve in the MC rebuild kit or a tiny particle of dirt, etc. that got stuck in the return port. I mentioned it very briefly in a video, but I should really address it more in-depth. Thanks for the reminder!
Yeah you found hens teeth in a hay stack.

Park a new Chevy and in a month the rust will keep you up at night, this thing has surface rust after a million years in the trees.
