After reading about Pink Flamingos in a couple books that explored the alternative world of cult films I was eager to actually see it, but being the era long before affordable VHS machines or any type of home streaming services I had to wait. When the opportunity finally presented itself I sat and watched these perverse and hysterical images. I showed it to my younger brother and we sat there howling with laughter. It was one of those unforgettable experiences and made mainstream movies dull by comparison. You'll never see Meryl Streep eat dog 💩 or Tom Hanks share a scene with a preoperative transsexual person with a sausage tied to his soon to be departed penis. It wouldn't be until the release of Hairspray when I got to see a John Waters film in a theatre. I eagerly anticipated each new film. Only Cecile B. Demented and A Dirty Shame were disappointing. I took my mother to see Serial Mom; she loved it. But my own personal favourite of all his films is Cry Baby. Even though I absolutely loathe Johnny Depp. Now this and Ed Wood are the only two films that I can watch. I liked him early in his career but then he became an obnoxious d-bag in the vein of Bill Murray.
I need a copy of this book.
Me too
Get Crackpot as well then ... the story continues ....

Poor Dionne.
Hey bitch, give me a dollar.
For RCs, his parents sound rather WASPy. And that's just because it's just one of those things that good/nice people do. Even if they're not.
There was a book, 'The Way of the Wasp' by Richard Brookhiser-- I'll have to look at that again....
